Default TLC182 Acetate Treat Box 8/18/08

I have another acetate challenge for you today. (so perhaps I'm on a Acetate Trip -lol - giggle).

There are many occasions when we need to give a little gift or treat, and having adorable packaging makes the treat all that more yummy, not to mention how impressed the receiver will be when you tell them that you made it yourself! Whether it's a birthday for a co-worker, neighbor, or Halloween treats for your child's class, this cute little box is just the thing!

Attached is an acetate box tutorial that I got from Susie McCormick, a/k/a tmccorm106@peoplepc.com. (thanks Susie) Click the PDF file attached for complete instructions and dimensions. Let's see all the different things you can come up with to fill your treat box. Treats don't always need to be candy!

You can find my samples: HERE
View Susie's sample: HERE

Don't forget to use keyword TLC182 when you upload.

To view all the Acetate Treat boxes using this challenge check out the TLC182 Gallery

I'd love to play today, but I am working nights, and have to sleep. Also, I don't have any acetate. Hope to get some this week!

Default Out of my league but...

This challenge is really out of my league, to think I can make this will take a leap of faith, but I'm game if you gals won't laugh at the result.

Thanks Lynn will be playing along today.

Hi there! I really want to make one too but I can't find the instructions. I followed the link and that takes me to Susie's gallery and there is a link to her blog but the links to both of her porjects do not give anything but an error message. Hopefully someone can help me. I'll check back later.

OK, I'm at the beach (poor me) with nothing, but what kind of acetate do you recommend as best -- there is thick and thin....

Lynn, I'll try this but I'm not sure if it will work. Last time I made a box like this it got pitched..........fingers crossed, a prayer and a BIG cup of coffee will help for sure! Thanks for the challenge.

A ggod friend won't let you take an acetate trip alone, so I am here with you. There is nothing organic about this sugar rush except for the name of the paper I used. Sugar Rush

Lynn, I'm trying to understand the measurements for the cardstock section. Is it 8 1/2 by 2 1/2?

I actually got mine from work because they were going to throw it away! ACK.

But you can buy acetate a/k/a overheads, from any office supply store or Walmart, K-mart, Target, etc. It's sold in a package with varying amounts, so just look at what they have available. I always get the type suitable for laser jet printers because they can take the heat, should I decide I want to emboss on them.

Oh this was so much fun! I learned a few things in the process:

[1] Acetate has a mind of it's own.
[2] It's hard to thread ribbon onto little beads without a needle
[3] I will definitely try this again...

Here's my card.

Thanks for lookin'
