Default Paper Clip bookmarks...

Silly question...how do you attach the punched circles to the paper clip so that it stays? What's the best adhesive?

Thanks!

i think it's called E6000 glue. you'd find it in the hard ware store/dept. it's a very thick, silicone like, glue. so, the thickness makes up for the space inside the clip.

I've used Zots. You can also use the large pop dots, as in this video: http://dawnsstampingthoughts.typepad...per-video.html

The video shows using only two dots, but I have used up to six (three on each side), depending on the shape that's being attached. The important part is to line up the glue dots on both sides of the paper clip, so that the dots wrap around the wire to adhere to the opposite glue dot.

Be sure to work in a well-ventilated area!

I love the grip that stuff has, but, the fumes can get to me quickly.

I also like using Quick Grab, which is pretty much like E6000.

I use foam tape for my paper clips. I cut 3 small strips - one to fit inside the clip and then one on either side.

Happy Stamping and Scrapping

I used Aleene's Paper Glaze on mine and is very similar to Crystal Lacquer. Once it was dry, it was a very solid bond.

I have done it with just one pop up glue dot. If you press on the paper clip, it embed in the glue dot and you can still stick the other paper/chipboard to the glue dot.

I use the SNAIL adhesive from SU to get the clip where I want it and then the E6000. When I was trying just the glue the clip slipped around pretty easily until the glue sets. Once it's set your golden. I have three kids who like to pick up mommies work before it dries. LOL

I use two pieces of the green mounting tape you can get at the hardware store. I place one on each side of the paper clip and then position the front and back pieces. I received a paperclip bookmark from a friend using the pop dots but the pieces fell off.

Okay no making fun...but I have used Hardware store silicone...the stuff you use to seal your bathroom tub! When I was just starting out, I didn't know where to get E6000...I asked the hardware guy and he recommended the Bath and Tile silicone.

Let me tell you...nothing and I mean NOTHING will come apart if you use this stuff...it is probably not acid free but we're talking magnets and paperclips...not exactly archival things.

And very low fumes! My other favorite adhesive is the Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive (thanks Rochelle).

I use "Crafter's Pick: The Ultimate" which is my all-time favorite liquid glue. It works on metal, plastic, chipboard, glass, leather, painted surfaces - you name it. It is self-described as "The Only Non-Toxic Water-Based Super Glue", and it truly lives up to its name. Found it at Michael's and I always keep an extra bottle on hand.

I use MS's glitter glue - not what it's intended for, but it works.

I've tried different methods and found the red line tape (widest one) works the best for me.

Crystal Effects worked for me and there were NO fumes!
tip: Adhere one side (CS base, glob of CE, paper clip on top) and let set for 15 mins- hour *I'm very impatient*; then flip over onto a glob of CE on your CS piece for the other side. Let it sit some more! Voila.

I use SU Crystal Effects as well, but I add it to both sides right away and then put the dictionary on top of them to make sure they stay in place. Works well and they don't fall apart!
