Default Need advice with ribbons

Can anyone refer me to websites or any advice on how to use different ribbons on your cards? Like the different kinds of ribbons and different ways to tie them, bows, knots etc. I have no idea how to use the few ribbons that I have but I think they would look so pretty on cards.

There are so many ways to use ribbon it would be hard to list them all.

I suggest going to the gallery and searching for the keyword ribbon. You will come up with TONS of samples using ribbon. Hope that helps!

Thanks Whitney for the tip. I am also looking for the "how to" with ribbons. There were way too many results to go thru when I tried on SCS. I guess I'll try googling unless someone else wants to help me out.

4. Tie around one corner
http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...=last1&page=11
5. Make loops that look like photo-corners
6. Tie on edges to make ribbon flags.

http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...cat=500&page=2

35. Attach vellum to your card with ribbon.
http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...at=500&page=11
36. Stamp on a piece of wide organdy ribbon.
http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...at=500&page=12
37. Cut two little slits in the sides of a Metal Edge Tag and thread it onto ribbon.
http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...at=500&page=13
38. Wrap one piece of ribbon around the layer of the card and attach a different colored piece with a simple overhand knot for a two-tone ribbon look.
http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...at=500&page=17
39. Attach a charm or WireWorks charm to a piece of ribbon.
http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...at=500&page=17
40. Create a "buckle look" by threading ribbon through 2 holes punched in one layer of a card and then wrapping the ends of the ribbon around another layer.
http://gallery.splitcoaststampers.co...cat=500&page=5
41. You can make an organdy ribbon curl and twist by heating it with a heat gun until it starts to melt. Be careful not to overheat or holes will be burned into your ribbon. Sorry, don't have a link to a scan of one of these.

I don't have an example, but you can use a brayer and ink pad to customize white ribbon to the color you want if you don't have the right color.

OH!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!

I have been collecting ribbon for years and have a bunch of it. I never use it... maybe I am just scared of it. But, ladies, with all these examples I am going to start using it all up so that I can buy more. Ribbon is sooo pretty...

Thanks again for all your work and in finding all the examples too.

Wow!! How about using it to embelish the hole in a bookmark?
And of course almost all of these great ideas could be used for fibers and raffia.....
