on the shores of Lake Superior in Baraga, Michigan

We will be doing some challenges on Friday night with free stamping and socializing as late as you want when the challenges are over. Saturday will include a VIP demo, shoebox swap, regular card swaps and free stamping time. Yes, there will be lots of prizes.

SHOEBOX SWAP
You design and make one card. In the shoebox you will put all supplies needed to make said card...paper cut to size, ribbons, embellishments, stamps and ink. Everyone will have their own adhesive. You should also include an instruction card. Everyone then rotates around the tables making all the cards. We all make mistakes occasionally so a couple extra pieces of paper would be nice. 22 people have registered for the shoebox swap. I know of one person having to leave early. If you are able to make an instruction card for each kit, that would be great. If not, please make two instruction cards so the person leaving early can figure how to assemble the kit when they are able to make them up. Thanks!

REGULAR SWAPYou will make these cards at home to swap at the event. Again, we will post the number participating when registration closes. If we have 30 people, you will need to make 30 of the same card. These will be full cards, not just card fronts as some do, and they do not need to be exclusively SU. 20 people have registered for the regular swap.

Ladies: please remember to post-it note your name on the back of your regular swaps so people know who created it...

CHALLENGESOur three Friday night challenges will include: A sketch challenge, a color challenge, and a Way to Use It challenge. You should bring the stamp set/sets, ink and adhesive of your choice for these challenges, basic supplies will be supplied. You may wish to bring extra embellishments to make your design extra special!

Items to bring for the weekend:
Adhesive/tape
Inks, coloring items (markers, chalks...)
Tools (scissors, paper cutter, punches if you wish...)
Suggested items:
Any special paper you may wish to use
Embellishments
Any extra stamping you may wish to work on.
Snacks or drinks (you would need to provide your own cooler), coffee will be provided in the conference room...

Friday, August 1st:
4:00-6:00 p.m. Check-in to motel room, Check-in at conference room and socialize. Dinner on your own.
6:00-10:00 p.m. Three challenges, judging and winners/prizes
You may continue to stamp as long as you wish...

Saturday, August 2nd:
Breakfast on your own (we will have muffins, etc. in the conference room...)
9:30 a.m. Regular card swap
10:00 Sharon Johnson (notimetostamp) demonstration
After Sharon's demo we will begin working on our Shoebox swaps...
12:00 noon Pizza lunch
Rest of day--complete Shoebox swaps and socialize.
Dinner on your own.
Evening stamping in the conference room if you wish.

Actually I need to update that, she's 4 months old already! YIKES! She was born on Dec 26th. And she's a TOTAL momma's girl, which I ADORE, but it does make it difficult to get much stamping done .

AND, I would love to meet JoAnn and some of the other Yoopers! That's a good 8-9 hour trip for me, but let me talk with hubby and see if we can think about a mini vacation around then. I love Agate Beach. The kids and I normally spend OODLES of time there in the summer. Last summer we didn't tho, because I was pregnant with Emberlyn and REALLY sick. We plan to rock it out there this summer tho! Can't beat the beautiful Lake Superior!
