TLC162 - Patience, Grasshopper....
Hello my friends! I'm back! Thank you so much to all the ladies that have taken a turn playing guest host the last several months!
Today's technique is paper tole...the kind where the same image is stacked to provide dimension to the key features. We have done something similar before. The catch with today's challenge is that NO FLOWERS allowed. (unless of course you truly do not own ANY stamp that is not a flower!).
Here are my samples:
Penny Black smiles
Close-up of layers
It is hard to see the layers in the pictures, but in the close-up, you can see how the cat has been cut out and adhered with a pop-dot, and on top of that layer is a cut out of the drink and that has been adhered with a pop-dot. Ditto with the trees: the entire tree is layered, and then the leaves are layered on top of that.
So you need to stamp the image 3 times. Cut out the features you want to highlight and adhere with a pop-dot. It's really easy, just requires patience and good cutting skills (and more patience!)
Take your time and enjoy!

Yes, ma'am! It is not a quick technique by any means! Awesome results make it worth the effort, though.

Well crappacino..... I have one that I made this weekend - with a flower.
Where was our mind meld Beth? You had to throw in the no flower zinger.

This looks really fun. I love the dimension!! One of my favorite things to do is cut paper ... quite oddly it brings me peace of mind (serenity stamper ... Hope I have time to do it. Good luck to those that accept the challenge -- I always love to admire the great works you guys do! Lela

Welcome back Beth!!!! We've all missed you - not that the ladies who stood in during your absence weren't fantastic. They were - but it's nice to have you back!!!!!
I love this technique - just have to go and find something that isn't a flower stamp to try it with!!!!!

I think this was a real challenge Beth. I learned a few things and may have to try it again sometime. It certainly does take patience, and that is not one of my strengths. lol Please take a look and let me know what you think.

Thanks for looking!

Well Beth, you've really made me work hard for this one!!! I went to my stash of stamps and lo & behold, all the ones that would be "perfect" for this challenge were flower stamps. Then I remembered that I had this set which I purchased only recently as it is retiring from our current catty today - and I hadn't used it yet!!!! Woooo Hooooo - a virgin stamp set - gotta love it!!!! So, here it is:
Thanks for Paper Tole
TFL - and thanks so much for the challenge Beth.

Hi, everyone! Welcome back, Beth! Fantastic challenge, and perfect for the card I wanted to make today!!!! (The MA (medical assistant), at my oncologist's office just graduated, and became a RN(Registered Nurse)! She's very sweet, and constantly asks me if I'm still winning the smallest butt contest in my family! LOL!
Here's today's submission:
