I've never tried any of the weekly challenges until today. I tried to make a flap card and although it is quite plain, it isn't too bad. You can see my card at the link below. TLC161 My First Flap Card by Janie Jane at Splitcoaststampers
Let me know what you think and what I can do to make the card better.
I made my card...the only thing I am not sure of...is the magnetic snap enclosures. I've never heard of them...something I can get at ACMoores???
Around here, I tried both independent scrapbooks stores, Jeffrey Alans, Hobby Lobby, and Michaels. No luck. I see them online quite a bit, but that doesn't get them here today. :(

I'm so excited to have done this and uploaded it on the first day it was posted...Yay!!!! Thank you JoLynn and Rose Ann for the challenge and great tutorial, it was so easy to follow. I'm sure I'll be doing others. Perhaps even getting brave and trying some different sizes. Will be on the lookout for the magnet snaps too.
I was so excited when Beth asked me to be guest hostess for the challenge for today! I found this tutorial by Rose Ann Reynolds in the Scor-Pal February *webzine,* and I thought it looked fun and simple. Scor-Pal gave its permission for me to use the tutorial (rather than reinvent the wheel).
I had two supply challenges as I tried some samples, so I thought I would pass them on. I had to (or at least that's what my DH thinks) purchase a bigger circle cutter than I currently had in my supplies. I chose the Cutter Bee Circle Scissor Plus. After cutting one of my fingers, and making mistakes with several pieces of cardstock, I finally figured it out. (Just a word of warning.) Also, I thought the Basic Grey magnetic snaps would be a *snap* to find. Around *these parts* they are nonexistent. I have used them before, and they are fabulous.
Seeing as there would be people in my same boat, I wanted to offer several options so no one needed to opt out of the challenge. For the circle, a large plastic lid might work just fine. In my sample, I made three different cards using three different closure options. (My blog has most of the specs for these cards.) Of course, a Scor-Pal is also an optional tool. The rest of the design is totally up to you, and I cannot wait to see what you create.
1. Check out the tutorial and the samples. Let your imagination take over.
2. Post your submission in the gallery. Please include TLC161 in your keywords with NO SPACES.
3. It is helpful, but not required, to post a reply to this thread with a link to your submission.
4. As part of the stamping community, if you have some free time, please comment on cards you see for this technique. It's always nice to hear from other creative geniuses.
5. Post as often as you like. No time limits are made on challenges. Have fun with it!

Reason: answered my own question.
I posted 2 cards early this morning and they were there up until about 9am. They are totally gone and I have no idea why! I wasn't even online and then when I tried to read the comments...it says they don't exist! Is anyone else having this problem?
Thanks, Ashley
gallery entries will be deleted if the filename is not unique....i.e. if the filename of the photo on your computer is the same as what someone else has already loaded, then the last one uploaded will be deleted. Does that make sense?
