Hi Laurie
My advice is do it. Spring into action is a great time to sign up.
I was a customer for about 2 years before I finally made the leap to demo. I just wasn't sure that I would be serious enough about it.
But then I discovered that it is so much fun! You meet new people and get all kinds of goodies. So here is my top 10 things I love about being a demo and think you would too:
1) Free stamps - you get the benefits when you consolidate your orders to a hostess/workshop.
2) Stampin Up! magazines - Stampin Success is full of information that you just don't see in Papercrafts and the others. From how paper is dyed to spotlight on techniques. They give you sales tools/workshop ideas. It is really something I look forward to each month. They are on sale on EBAY for a reason
3) Access to the Demo only sections of SCS!!! These folks are an unbelievable source of encouragement and amazing ideas.
4) Online order entry - I love that you can place an order when the time is right for you regardless of the time.
5) Regionals and Convention - haven't been to any yet but I really love an excuse to travel, stamp and make new friends. Just sounds like fun to me!
6) Education - all kinds of ideas to grow your business, techniques and ways to present a workshop on SU! website.
7) Time to stamp. By being a demo I find that I just stamp more. Whether participating in a swap or prepping for a workshop when you have the "demo" hat on you just take it more serious. Least that is what I have found.
Easy sell! The products really do sell themselves. All you have to do is let the ink do the magic.
9) Other demos - not everyone but most really want to see SU! do well and as a result are very helpful to others just starting out or less informed. Just an awesome bunch of people to be associated with!
10)Opportunity to pre-order stamps before the rest of the world. Gives me the feeling that I am "in the know" or something
Oh and did I mention free stuff! Love that part really do!! You will use every item in your kit and meeting the quarterly minimum is that really NOT hard. But then again I am my own best customer. Good luck and you can't go wrong in my opinion and wish I had done it sooner. Stacey
