Friday 10:00 pm EST - JAN08VSNE - She's Got a Ticket to Stamp - Chat Thread
Title: She's Got a Ticket to Stamp
Hostess: Arin (arinstamps)
Keyword: JAN08VSNE
Day/Date: Friday, January 18th
Time: 10:00 PM EST
One of my favorite ways to spend a Girls Night Out is going to a movie or show. I love concerts, plays, musicals, games... almost any event! All of these events require tickets, so here is my challenge:
Make a card inspired by TICKETS!
Ideas to get you started: make an invitation that looks like a ticket; use "ticket language" on your card (Admit One; One Night Only...); make an actual ticket for a gift and tuck it into a pocket card (like a ticket to a girls night out for your friends) or simply use a ticket punch on the corners. Or, come up with a ticket-inspired idea of your own!
Here are some samples to get you going.
My second sample uses a tea bag holder card. I found it in this technique challenge and this thread. I changed mine to 3"x 3 1/2" to hold a gift card but it was a great size for this challenge too. Just cut your cardstock to 3 1/2" x 9". Score the long side every 3 inches. Make a diagonal cut on the last panel for the pocket, then adhere it closed with sticky strip.
*** ALL VSN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 11:00 PM EST ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 20th ***
Uploading Instructions:
*You have 45 minutes to complete this challenge.
*Please remember to put in the correct keyword when uploading your image. If you are using additional keywords, you must separate them with a comma. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
*It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in the chat thread, in case the gallery is being testy.

I guess I'll be using my 51% off coupon at my favorite craft store (Shadow Box) for a new punch (or stamp) because I don't have *anything* to use on this challenge. :(
Is there a corner rounder that makes the ticket-look? Or an actual ticket punch? Or how about a ticket stamp? I am just digging for ideas. I don't have a *clue* what to do.....
ahhh, I just made a cup of tea (after my last round of puking I am feeling much better), kids are asleep and DH left for work.....just me the dog and my ipod!

Do you have an alpha? You could spell out a ticket-sounding sentiment.
Or make a pocket card like my sample and add ticket details later with a punch.
Or try adding ticket-like details with other tools. I think a small circle punch would make the notches similar to the ones on the ticket sticker on my invitation sample.
Also check out the gallery link for this challenge. Frances (Stamp Owl) made a ticket without any special tools.

I'm glad you're feeling better Denise! I had the stomach flu yesterday too. Thankfully it was short. Intense, but short:rolleyes:
Last round of puking??? Should you be in bed resqbarbie?
As for me, I have to leave now to go clean 4 inches of snow off my car so I can go pick dh up from work. BBS (I hope)...maybe with an idea?!?!?!? DOn't have too much fun without me!

Drive safe! Don't worry about missing the fun - we'll be here when you get back
This rocks....I didn't think I had any tickets in the house(never go anywhere that requires one....and then DH remembered our DS had left his homeward bound tickets from Christmas on his dresser....So I used those and a CTMH "escape" stamp and I am in love with the card.
