Well, I got my craft stuff all packed tonight. I was able to fit everything I'll need for the challenges, my card swaps, door prizes and shoebox swap all in my crop tote. I can't believe it all fit! And my swaps are each in shoebox size plastic totes, so that was no small feat to get them in there too!
Now I'll just have to double check I'm not forgetting anything essential. I think I've got it though. I'm so excited!!!
I'm bringing my coffee! I have a travel pot, and it will be the second thing in the car! Dunkin Donut coffee, too!
So all I need is a cup and I'll be outside your door waiting!!!! Are you sure all you're bringing is a "travel pot" maybe you should pack the big one, now that you shared the fact you will have coffee ;) How much will you be charging for a cup?
Well I slacked off and didn't get any packing done :( But all I have left on the cards is to add the recipe and they will be good to go-yippee.
I just finished all of my swaps and shoebox swaps. Now I am wondering if they are good enough or if I should start over. I am such a newbie at this stuff. I have only been stamping about a year and still have so much to learn. Hope you guys aren't disappointed in the novice's stuff. I have been looking at your gallerys and there are some really talented ladies coming to this thing.
Do not second guess yourself, I am sure whatever you have made is just perfect.

Sandy, That will be enough of that kind of talk missy ! Don't you dare start over, you better start packing your stuff instead and we will all love your swap and shoebox project too !
Sorry, if that sounded Motherly, sometimes it just slips out, lol.
OKay Mom. I am going to pack tomorrow after I get some laundry done.
I can't wait to meet you all. I fly to Chicago on Tuesday for some tests at CTCA and then on to Lansing on Thursday to my DD's house. We will be a little late Friday night so don't do everything before we get there.
Do you think they will let us check in early if there is no one in our room? Or that perhaps if I came early with my daughter we could go swimming, then have daddy pick her up so I can stamp my behind off??? He works in Saginaw, so he is going to pick her up at the hotel. . . just trying to think ahead.
However, not as far ahead as some of you who are already packed! Holy cats, y'all are prepared!
I tried to call the hotel yesterday, but no one answered the phone??? Wha?

I just scanned the last 2 pages of this thread -- you girls are way too funny!!!
Gee, I'm over my head in work, I won't pack/plan until Thursday morning, and we will leave around noon -- LOL!!! I have a workshop on Wednesday, 2 actually, one in the morning and one in the evening, at my house, and I'm tyring to do projects and write my Blog posts ahead so I have my usual nightly uploads while I am gone. Then to prepare food/meals for my crew of guys while we are gone!
And, OH, I just realized reading your conversation that I'm supposed to bring stuff to stamp - DUH - I certainly would have overlooked that -- LOL!!! Truly!!! I am so NOT a public stamper -- I'm a closet stamper!!! I need complete peace, quiet, silence, my own space, to create. When I'm with people I'd rather talk and just watch them!!! Which is probably what I will do mostly. So I read we are having challenges -- I think I will chose 1 stamp set, with a few tools that may work with it, and that's all I'll take. I will go back and check on the supply list, though!
And food for our workspace -- well, coffee is my thing in the a.m. and then ice tea all day long after that -- so I guess that's easy enough for me to buy. But I'll need a cooler in our workroom if I want it cold? Is that it?
My only concern about the room is that it has a hair blower -- most do -- and I can check that on the motels web page. I hate hauling a blower with me, not that big a deal, but one less bulky thing to haul!!!
Now, what I'd really like to do is print everyone's avatar so I know you when I come -- LOL!!! We will have name tags, right???? It'll be fun getting to know everyone!!!
See you all soon -- and if I'm missing some obvious point here, please let me know!!! Thanks!!!
Sandy - Your stuff will be great! No second thoughts.
Robin - I have never been to this hotel. But I would be surprised if they didn't let you come early to swim. That is a great idea for you and your daughter.
Sharon - I am a closet stamper too. I have a group of ladies I get together with about once a month. They accomplish so much and I barely get a card made. This weekend I will be watching and listening with a little bit of yap in there. Oh and of course the necessary stamping. I will be lucky ifi I get that done. LOL

Hey Lorien, sorry to hear your son is under the weather, but please put a mask on and wash your hands right after you take care of him...can you keep him in one room till it passes...just don't want you sick too :(

And food for our workspace -- well, coffee is my thing in the a.m. and then ice tea all day long after that -- so I guess that's easy enough for me to buy. But I'll need a cooler in our workroom if I want it cold? Is that it? Technically, we aren't supposed to bring in drinks. I will arrange for water coffee and tea (you might have to run to the ice machine to make it cold) throughout the event and we will be getting pop with the pizza and salad lunch on Saturday.
My only concern about the room is that it has a hair blower -- most do -- and I can check that on the motels web page. I hate hauling a blower with me, not that big a deal, but one less bulky thing to haul!!! The website says they have hairdryers.
Now, what I'd really like to do is print everyone's avatar so I know you when I come -- LOL!!! We will have name tags, right???? It'll be fun getting to know everyone!!! Yep Ann is making nametags for everyone. I don't really look like a blue M&M. You can see the real me if you look at my profile.
See you all soon -- and if I'm missing some obvious point here, please let me know!!! Thanks!!!

To my fellow committe planners: it looks like I will be leaving work later than I planned so I will most likely not be able to help set up on Friday. I can help clean up on Saturday night though! I do plan to be there by 3:30p - if everything goes ok!!!
I'm still working on swaps!!! Which to give evryone a heads up - will be varied!! I have ALOT of leftover cards from workshops and past swaps where I didn't use them all, so now I am using them up!!! And I am finishing up the nametags!!!
See everyone on Friday!!!

I better not bring the Sumatra Blend then ;) I'll bring a nice house blend, or you can let me know another one you like. I get them discounted at Barnes & Noble because I work there and there's a Starbucks cafe--it's a nice 'perk.'

Sandy-I know just how you feel-hope to make something worthy-but everyone sounds soooo nice that I'm sure they will appreciate the effort!
Can't wait to meet everyone.
Sharon (notimetostamp) be careful on the drive down-and enjoy the Outlet mall if you get time-can't wait to meet you.
If anyone forgets something and realizes it by Friday night-I live fairly close and can bring it (assuming I have whatever it is) on Saturday.
Also-if I can be of any help with setting up-let me know-I can come early if needed.

Oooooh. . . flavored creamer is the best! I will bring one also. . .we can have a creamer buffet
I wonder if there are little coffee pots in the room? If I could get them to answer the durned phone I could ask! They must be having a party over there.
I will keep trying!

The room does have a coffe maker, but it's probably only one of those baby pots. We can take the pots from ALLthe rooms, put them in one spot, and have coffee! And to ease the coffe pains, the hotle does serve a continental breakfast, (which I've been told is pretty good) and we have coffee service in the meeting room!
Goodness! 50+ woman drinking pot after pot of coffee, and eating chocolate! Wow! This is going to be SO much fun!
