Hi Splitcoasters! We arrived in Denver this morning-me along with Craftdoc & JenB. We met several stampers along our lengthy jaunt from Erie, Pennsylvania. One dutiful stamper finished an entire stack of swaps during the flight.
The city is beautiful and the weather is very hot. We're checked in at the Residence Inn and stamping away. We've just about finished an entire bag of Ogre-sized M&M's and opened the Chex Mix, so life is good!
The convention center is very cool, big curved lines & right in the middle of all the action. JenB is practically out of her mind wanting to know what kind of bag we will get tomorrow. Personally, I am more concerned with what type of PJ's Spencer will wear to the pajama party. ;-)
I hope you girls are ready for lots of fun because you need to have fun for us that our at home too. My body's in Pigeon, Michigan, but my heart is in Denver this week. Handle it with care and have lots and lots of fun for us all!
Okay, I know this has nothing to do with convention, but, I thought it was really neat to see someone else from Erie, PA. I was born and raised there and now live in South Carolina. Anyway, have fun at convention.
I got to Denver this past Sat., my mom lives in Loveland just north about 45 min. If you have never been here you really need to take the time to check it out! It is a fab place to visit. I would reccomemd a short trip to Fort Collins, Old Town or to Estes Park if you have any spare time at all! How many swaps did you all get done?

If any of you have a minute visit the Molly Brown House museum at 14th and Penn., just two blocks from the state capitol. You will learn about the "real" Margaret Brown who was truly a women's advocate among other things. You will get to see a neat old house as well. . I am a docent but won't be there this week. Do tell them Marilynn (my real name) sent you. I think admission is six dollars.

wow! I have a great friend who lives in Loveland! small world. Enjoy convention.
At convention last year, they mentioned that it will be back in SLC, Utah. The convention center this year was being renovated or booked. But maybe we'll be surprised!
BTY- sooooo jealous that everyone is at convention! DH gets to go fishing in Costa Rica this year instead! BUT I did place a huge order this week to fill my SU loneliness
kbot5 (Kanani) and I arrived this afternoon. We took a stroll from our hotel, Comfort Inn Downtown, to the Convention Center but they wouldn't let us walk in any farther than the lobby... DANGIT! I wanted to see all the cool decoration stuff.
Other than that, it's just very VERY hot in Denver. Talk about needing some sun screen!

we're staying in loveland my husband and i used to live there I love it here looking forward to my first convention! what exactly is general session? do i have to be there every day for it? thanks!
OOOH, I second Casa Bonita. I don't think the food is anything spectacular, but the atmosphere, you won't believe! There's a huge waterfall with cliff divers and everything, right inside. Too cool!

General Session is the best part of convention. You don't want to miss that. Spencer usually sings. That is an experience you just can't get enough of.
they ususally announce the next years convention at this years convention on the last night along with the dates for next year as well
It was reported in the SLC newspaper that Stampin' Up! has committed to hold convention at the Salt Palace for the next three years. I am thrilled. It is a very nice area with lots of restaurants close by & very reasonably priced; not to mention the scenery is gorgeous. We were so busy with convention last year that we didn't get to sight-see much, so I am looking forward to doing that if I am lucky enough to go to convention next year too. An added bonus is that when in SLC, as part of convention, you get to visit the Riverton campus and work on the pick line. I could have picked all day.
AND, my theory is, that if it is in SLC and SU! saves money by having it close by - they will give us more FREE STAMPS. Hey, they tell us to Dream Big. Right?
I'm close! We're in Casper, WY tonight, leaving at six a.m. for Denver. Total of about 23 hours driving time!!!
I live in Rock Springs WY!! But I wasn't able to go to convention this year:(. I went to sign up for session one and it was filled up!! And second session wouldn't work because I am a 4-H leader and our County fair is next week so I have to stay here and help my club members. This will sound really bad but I don't even have any of my own kids in 4-H yet and I still decided that it wouldn't be right to go to Convention and leave my club members high and dry. Sometimes I wish I didn't have a conscious (sp) . So please have fun and don't forget to post for all of us who couldn't make it!!!
Ok, I'm going to risk sounding like a newbie (well I have only been stamping since March ) is convention open to everyone, or is it only for SU! demostrators? I hope you all have fun, and keep us posted!

Totally gotta hit Casa Bonita. It's THE coolest atmosphere restaurant I've ever been to. Food is decent--not the best mexican ever but the experience as a whole is not to be missed.
Oh how I wish I were there with you ladies!!!
I'm off to pout, cry, and then maybe stamp a little to console myself! :(
