Default TLC121: Speedy Cards for Good Causes

This week's challenge idea comes from coffeeaddictsam. Her idea is create cards that are QUICK and EASY to either produce in bulk or create in 5-10 minutes. Her idea is inspired by her desire to encourage stampers use their talents to make card for the people in need of some good cheer in the Need a Lift Forum.

I think this is a FABULOUS idea! I have often wanted to send a RAK after reading the posts in that forum, but then get stuck because I feel like I have to create some (time-consuming) masterpiece when all I really need to do is stamp up a little something, anything, and GET IT IN THE MAIL!

So let's inspire each other with quick and easy cards and spread some stamping joy.

There are many threads in the Need a Lift forum. Find them here.

Sam and I both have friends in need of good cheer.
Sam's friend is a 6 year old little boy named Jack with cancer.
Read more here.

My friend is an 11 year old boy named Jacob, also with cancer. Read more here.

Please use the keyword TLC121 when you upload.

This will be great! Thanks! Off to play and make another one!
OOH! A first time to be first!!

I actually just loaded this card a few minutes ago before the challenge and it was quick and easy - about 5 minutes to make!

Great idea, Beth! And here's another link regarding an SCSer who would be a great recipient of today's challenge cards: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/fo...d.php?t=254887. (The link is to a forum thread started by Cammie/Carolyn to help cheer one of our stamping sisters)

Great idea! Most people, myself inclulded, are thrilled not that they received a masterpiece of perfection, but that someone cared to send a card to let them know that they are thought of, especially when times are tough.

GREAT IDEA. I have been neglecting my goal of sending lots of cards to the troops, and have several addresses of people requesting cards - I too get stuck on the more time consuming ones. I will probably be casing a lot of the examples done for this challenge. Thank you Beth, for this challenge.

Fabulous challenge Beth. Like you, I often think that I have to create a masterpiece, when in reality, it's the thought that counts, and not the number of eyelets you install, or the layers you adhere.

Here's one that I made the other day for just this purpuse. This card took about 8 minutes to make, and when I started making them in bulk I was down to about 6 minutes each! The semi-circle was made by running an exacto knife around a saucer placed on the paper.

I hope y'all like it!

Well, I hope this qualifies. It isn't a 5 minute card but it's under 20. That's pretty speedy for me!

Now what do I do with the rest of the hour it usually takes me?

This is a great challenge, Beth. I recently had a thread on that forum regarding my brother-in-law, Dan. When I went up to be with my sister for Dan's funeral she pulled out a box of more than 50 cards that people had sent to Dan during his illness over a period of about two weeks. After he died my sister received more than 20 sympathy cards. I cannot tell you how meaningful it was to Dan to get little surprises in the mail each day while he was still aware enough to read them. Also, my sister, Jeannie thinks I have the nicest group of friends she has ever seen. She was flabbergasted (sp) that I could have so many friends that I had never met. Thanks to all of you who took the time to share your loving thoughts and prayers. I am going to use this opportunity to make several cards to use for this purpose and keep a check on this very "Special Forum".

You should just post. My cards aren't great at all, and rarely get more than 2 comments, but I enjoy them, so that's all that matters. And, if someone gets an idea from any portion of them it's all worth it!
