Default Tassles for Nugget Mortar Boards

I originally posted this in the wrong place. Sorry!
To make a tassel you will need:
three 3.25 inch lengths of embroidery floss
one 4 inch length of floss
one or two 3.25 inch strands of floss
Tie the three lengths at center with the 4 inch length, but put the knot in the four inch piece so one end of the four inch piece becomes another string in the tassel. Fold all tassle strings together and tie them with one or two strands (your preference) of embroidery floss about 1/8 inch from the original knot. These strands also become part of the tassel.
Put an open knot at the other end of the original four inch floss. This is what you will put the brad into so secure the tassel once you get it to the right length. Trim the tiny piece that is left over and trim entire tassel to even it and to get to desired length.
I am going to try to upload a photo I hope it works!
Look in my gallery to see the mortar board kids!
Thanks for looking.

I am making some grad caps for my son's kindergarten class. I used the frayed ribbon technique. I am using Maize grosgrain ribbon. I used a length of 12" and then took 6-6" pieces and folded them in half and tied the longest piece around the middle. I then used an elastic band to make it look like the tassle. I then trimmed the edge off the six pieces and frayed. Voila....does that make sense? Everyone says they look real! A picture of it is on my blog. Check it out!

Funny - I just got into this yesterday for the first time since I posted it so I could make a tassel for a card. I just noticed I spelled tassel wrong. Wonder if I can fix that.
