hmmmmmmmmm.....how about a faux coaster with chipboard......or cover old coaster with DP, etc. You are inspiring me again........now all I need is time. Off to garden. Will be stamping later........I hope! Thanks for another awesome WT challenge.
Fun challenge, but I don't have any either and was thinking I could do this. What dimensions are they? Anyone know? Thanks in advance.
Mine are 1/16" thick and 4" x 4"

What does "just" mean in this post? How long ago did you buy them at M's? Where in the store are they located, and are they a reasonable price? Can you tell I'm thinkin' about makin' a run???
Hi there. I bought them about 10 days ago. They were in the $1 bins which are on the side of the store i go to towards the front of the store. They were in a bin by wine glass markers, ribbon with wine themes, etc. They were in packs of 4 for $1. They are not blank - have pictures on them but I figure I'll just cover them with designer paper. HTH, Harriet

WOW! You're making it really difficult to supress my urge to drive 1hr round trip just for coasters!! =)
Thanks - I do believe I'll try to head to my local Michael's pretty soon...we don't go out to eat often enough to get coasters that way. ;)
I know this is cheating a little bit, but I made these last week.. I will put them on here until I can sit down tonight and make something new for this challenge... I hope you all like it... Please leave me your comments... TFL!!!!!
As mentioned in my description, I have been gone all day and this is the first chance I have had to do the challenge! I immediately thought of my round coaster from a coffee shop to use! Fun challenge!
If I had some good pictures of my girls on hand, I would have made a coaster frame or something similar for this challenge. But the challenge for me is ever remembering to get pictures developed. I never print them at home... cheap printer. So here's what I did for today's challenge... very simple and not at all what I would have liked to do today, but it's done. Thanks for looking!
Well you did it. You made me crack the seal on the bag of coasters. I've been meaning to try this for some time now. Thank you! It's a very simple first attempt, but it is standing. Doodle This

Fun challenge Julia. Thanks for challenging us big time this week. I used coasters to make a coaster box, and then I made a matching candle to go inside of it.
Hey I dont get much stuff in India...tell me what exactly is "Coaster"...???
A coaster is "technically" an item to set beneath a beverage to catch the drips...condensation or spillage...can be made of chipboard, or cork or cloth or tile...for purposes of this challenge, chipboard pieces, (circles, ovals or squares) are used or altered ( in the case of coasters provided by some eating establishments and imprinted with logos) to make small boxes, Post-it-note holders, or as an embellishment on cards. Too much information?;) Hope this explains it!!

Here's my coaster card for a former student's birthday. Ribbon was used to hold the two coasters together so it could stand on a table. Crystal Coaster Card

Thanks for the examples and the challenge Julia. My second box turned out way better than the first box I made. I loved the idea of making it into a photo box that holds paper. DH is very excited to put it on his desk at work!
I tried to stamp a coaster white (to neutralize the restaurant's logo) and it wouldn't dry, so I decided to emboss the thing. What to do with a giant golden disk? I had to sleep on it.
