The new flyer starts today here. When I read the on-line flyer this morning it said "18 carts" to choose from. I'm headed in now! I'll keep you posted, but it might be different per store although that doens't make sense.

Thanks Heather, I guess there is one advantage to no stores open on Sunday your sale starts one day early....;)

Hi All,
I'm at a friend's house and just saw the Cricut in action for the first time - woo hoo! I know there are tons of posts on the Cricut here, but I'm wondering if it is okay to use adhesive cardstock in the Cricut or will that mess up the blades? (Sorry if this has been answered - I did try to search before this post!)

There is a thread over in the general about M's and there was a girl on there, sounded like she maybe worked at M's. Said it is in the contract with Provo Craft that you can't use the coupons on cricut stuff, then she said Martha has the same contract on her stuff. So I imagine it will all be way over priced, if you can't use a coupon.

Happy shopping everyone and have fun playing with your new goodies, I have to help my hubby build a small pen around the troughs so he doesn't get trampled we he is feeding. The calf count is up to 95!

I did email cricut an d suggest a wedding font for anniversaries, engagements, because I thought these are major things people scrapbook. They said thank you, we have more carts coming out, but we cant tell you about them now. lol Dont they always have more carts coming out;)
The derby car sounds great! I would love an "all season" cart, too, as well as the other ones you suggested. Of course they always have more coming out. I'm just happy I'm NOT thrilled about too many in the next batch. I'm like you, I have a hard time sharing my stuff. My upline has asked in the past about working our orders so we can share stamp sets, and I'm just not good at it. What if inspiration strikes and I don't have the set/tool? Horrors!

I wasn't very impressed with their customer service. I placed an order off their website last month, and it took almost 2 weeks to ship, then they "forgot" to send the Cuttlebug. Huh?? I waited another week for it to arrive. It also took 2-3 days for them to respond to emails. Just my experience.

OK, these are the last pages I've completed:

I still can't figure out how to do that cool link thing, where a word is the link. Would someone mind explaining this again, only this time like you would explain to a 3 year old?

Hi and welcome! I don't know if you can use adhesive cardstock or not. What a great idea, though. Hopefully one of the other gals can answer this.

OK, I tried cutting a card from Zooballoo last night. I was disappointed that the card did not cut perfectly square. It also left a little jog on one edge of the card, where it stopped cutting. I ended up re-trimming the card with my cutter, but I wonder if there is another trick to this. Maybe slow the speed down? Thanks for any help!

Which carts creates letters that you can layer? You KWIM?? I want to use two different colors and then for instance on the letter M, I want to see a pink M and then around the pink M I want to see a tiny border of green. Does this make sense? I thought that George did that but I don't get the silhouette feature or the shadow blackout feature. Anyone know????

I think all the alpha fonts offer "shadow" feature. Some of them also offer "shadow blackout" as well. I used combinations of shadow and shadow blackout on the pages I posted in the past day. I know the "Dive In" page I used both. Is this what you mean? Shadow should give you the layer you are looking for. Shadow blackout will give a layer, plus fill in any open space (like the "D" on my Dive In page. Make sense?

Yes, the letters are 2 different colors. I did the top layer in Moss, then cut the same letters (set at same size) in Shadow feature using the Cocoa. I did the "D" the same way, but used Shadow Blackout instead of Shadow. I also layered on the NaPali pages - maybe those will show up better.

This will happen if you don't select "shadow". The shadow feature makes it a tad bigger for the layered look.

Ohhh maybe i am expecting a bigger border because I am used to QuikKutz (sp?). Some of their fonts you have more like a 1/8" border....or maybe it's 1/16". I know it's bigger...hmm have to play with George!

Ok I am a dork; I figured it out. I was cutting both colors using the shadow feature. Not using the shadow feature for one color and then no feature for the other. Dork! Thanks for your help!!!

Hey, it happens to the best of us! When I try to hurry, I find I make a lot more mistakes. The shadows do seem to be a little different, base on the cart.

I still can't figure out how to do that cool link thing, where a word is the link. Would someone mind explaining this again, only this time like you would explain to a 3 year old?
Lori,
These are beautiful and the beauty of the pictures is still very evident w/ the layouts you've done.

I thought that George did that but I don't get the silhouette feature or the shadow blackout feature. Anyone know????
I think most will do that, just start w/ a big letter and layer smaller ones on top ... yes??

(Sorry if this has been answered - I did try to search before this post!)
I know people cut adhesive backed paper all the time if you worry about the blade just get an extra and label it and switch it out. I bought some new adhesive backed cs at Target thus week but I haven't had time to cut any yet.

I have yet for them to respond to any emails, the stuff I have bought has come when they said, its just they sell it in advance of when they get it and someone else does the shipping. So it does take awhile I only buy from them when I get a great deal.

It's easier to show a three years old but I'll try one more time
1. Type the word.
2. Highlight the word
3. Copy the thread address( do this in a separate tab) or highlight it then click the back button.
4. click the picture of the world with the link of chains on it.( this step will open a little box that has http:// )
5.click where the http:// is and hit paste (or delete the http:// then paste if you don't want to do step 6)
6. this is where most people goof up. use the arrow keys to scroll to the beginning an ddelete out the extra http:// if there are two it will not work. then click on ok.
7. the word that was highlighted should change to look like a link in an email. for example.....LINK (hint this is not a link) When you submit your reply it will just look like a bolder word maybe a little greyer.
You're finished an can submit the reply. HTH

Hey Everyone! I hope you don't mind me jumping in here. I want a cricut soooo badly but DH says I have to save for it and it just seems the $$$ has to go to other things when I get some going. Anyone have ideas how to save or any ideas on the (oh no) Xyron system? Any comparisons? I just want to do more with scrapping and card making and I'm so battling myself. It's like I dont want to wait I want it now. Any one feel that way? I saw a good deal (I thought) on e-bay Cricut machine (new) with 4 cartridges and carring case for $300 Tried to talk Dh in buying for b'day but didn't work. Sure could use any help and or advice.

First I wouldn't try to do a deal where you get every thing at once. Michaels ahd a great deal just 2 weeks ago on the cricut for 139. It's the best price I have seen. I imagine joanns and other stores will sell teh smaller cricut also when the new expressions comes out in June(supposedly). Just keep your eyes open. As for how to save, I just keep an envelope for expensive stuff in my craft room when I wan to buy something else like a paper for example I just say hum I'll put it in the envelope and make do. I just also cut corners all over the grocery budget to do the same thing. Or the entertainment budget, like if I want to go to the theatre. I rent a movie instead and put the difference in the envelop. I find that the money saved adds up quick. I have always been a change saver. I only spend with cash and save the change. It can all add up. I dont think the DH would ever say sure go spend 60 buck on a cartridge, but he has no problem with me spending 60$ If I have saved it in the ways I've mentioned. HTH Hope you get your cricut soon.
If you find a friend in the same situation agree to go halfsies, or thirds. then you only have to save half as much;)

I have an envelope started. Thanks for the help and I'll keep looking for those sales. Does everyone agree that the Cricut is the way to go? I guess I'm a bit confused with all that's out there.
