I used the glossy for faux mother of pearl. I only recently tried this and loved the results, hopeyou do too. This is my very favorite brass template and I wanted to see how it looked on the mother of pearl. As always, thank you so much for looking. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Oh thanks, Julia! I loooove glossy paper! I have well over a dozen samples in my gallery that use it! I use it for Heated Pearls tech, Polished Stone, and shaving cream techs. too! Here's a hint for those of you who don't have any- you can use an old photo that you don't like. I often swipe my glossy (or photo) with a dark Staz-On color first. Gives the final result a richness and depth. AND, you can even use old glossy SU! customer postcards that have expired! Works great!
Julia, glad you made it back to SCS Cyberspace! I understand withdrawal! I will try to find the time for another one today!
Hugggs!
LOVE your tip to use old SU! postcards...I sure hope that last batch didn't actually make it into the recycling bin!

Julia, what a great challenge!!! I had this glossy black forever and never used it.
I can't help myself. I had to use yesterday's sketch layout again!
I am also into very simple cards with a white base right now. I guess I am thinking about JulieHRR lately.
Thanks for the challenge and all the techniques. I keep thinking I am going to try crayon resist, so decided to start small, with a sponge. I am definitely brayer impaired! I did try the resist around the sentiment, but that did not work too well.
I had all the supplies needed to try doing the faux mother of pearl! I decided to look and see what the challenge was. It must be fate!!! I "NEED" to do this challenge! Wish me luck!!

I love my glossy paper! I think it has such a finished look. Alas, I am at work reading the challenge and cannot play until tonight. However, this card is from my gallery with the masking technique. Thanks Julia, what fun! I can't wait to play later!
Now, this is outta the box for me. It's Dee Gruenig's rainbow colors that I bought years ago and never use. You put the reinkers on her special sponge and swipe your cardstock. Kinda wild and groofy, man!!!

Thank for the great challenge, I have never done the faux linen technique and this was just the push I needed.

WoW, I'm way behind. I hate that feeling!!
I just posted yesterday's SC card a little bit ago and haven't even started on this one! Whew, I'd better get buzy!!!
Love all the cards I've seen so far!!!!
Here is mine, I just used the glossy cardstock as I would regular card stock and ran it through the CB and then sponged it to match the card. It is shimmery IRL. Thanks Julia.
What a great challenge to showcase a bunch of different techniques. I'm at work so can't stamp, but was looking through the uploads. I appreciate all the links to the tutorials for the techniques used. I'm all set (at least in my head) to try the crayon resist and ghosting techniques. Thanks to all the experienced stampers helping us beginners.
