Has anyone else printed coloring pages 'card size' to use on cards? I did a few this weekend with coloring pages from www.janbrett.com - you can see them in my gallery: spring hedgie snow hedgie art hedgie
no, coloring pages you can download from the internet...I've done a few for my daughter too, using Disney Princess pictures...there are tons of pictures available for personal use.
never heard of this ...sounds cool.Where do you go or how do I find what you're talking about? I hate to sound stupid!!! And I agree your cards are fantastic
Google 'coloring pages' and you will find tons. The ones I used are from www.janbrett.com - she is a children's illustrator and has shared tons of her work on her site.
I have done this for kids cards for my sunday school class. I actually left them black and white so they could color them on thier own.
Same here, I've done this several times for the kids at church to color and give to people (family, church members, nursing home residents...). Nothing quite like these, though.
I just took a look at your blog--Oh MY STARS! How fun is that lady bug. I went to the Jan Brett site as well. She's one of my favorites. Just read Hedgie Blasts off with my youngest boys. He's there in all his space suit glory--too fun. Question though--how do you print off in card size in these files or are you shrinking them at the copy center? I am computer challenged to say the least. Thank you so much for bringing this idea and web site to my attention. Tooooo FUN!

Your coloring is always amazing!! This idea reminded me of the many computer disks I bought from DJ Inkers back before I had all of these stamps!! I used to print the images all the time (they were meant for this, of course) and watercolor them for cards. Now they are abit too cutsy for my tastes but today I'm making cards with the kids at church for our wounded soldiers and this will be perfect for them to color! What a timely thread -- thank you!
I printed a couple off from my comp. just to try the sizing..it worked great..i just did them on scrap to get the right size..then will do them on cs..this is just great for kids cards i wanna do..loves ya ..Gail

Those really are gorgeous! I know someone who likes to use the small Dover coloring books (higher end than your normal coloring books - you can find them in places like A.C. Moore) in her cardmaking. They even have some that are printed on a glassine type paper so you get a cool stained glass effect. Neat stuff!
Yes I have. I printed a cute Lepruchan last year to make St. Patricks Day cards. Couldn't find an image I liked so I searched through coloring pages. As always your work is beautiful. I will check out her sight. I could use these with my grandaughters. Thank you for sharing.

WOW!! thanks so much, and your stuff ROCKS!!! can you tell us how to do the "sizing" I just glanced at her "spring mice" it looks huge, but I would like to give it a go for a cardfront. Nice blog too....I am thinking about starting one.
How fun is this idea---just tried an image I found using the search engine mentioned by Tah Dah. I posted the card at this link. Thanks Dini and for the incredible, money saving idea when you just need an image you don't have a stamp for. My HUSBAND THANKS YOU PROFUSELY!
This is just too much fun, Found this cute little Hamster using the search engine Tah Dah! mentions in her above post. Here's another card: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
I was having a wee bit of trouble with my printer ink wanting to smear when using the prismacolors and Gamsol. Used a hint I saw here once and very lightly sprayed the printed cardstock with KRYLON MATTE FINISH SPRAY to seal it. After it dried, colored perfectly with out smearing.

Wow! I didn't know there were such cute images out there in cyberland. I have printed pages for my grandchildren or for Sunday School, but only the really simple pictures.
Yep,....I did some checkin' and stampin8mom you did give the hint about the krylon matte spray--I recognized your picture. It works.
If you haven't tried this idea and the search engine, you so gotta give it a go. It's too fun. I found this little guy with the search engine mentioned above and used the word DRAGON. This card got the 'thumbs up' from my 2 youngest boys. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
My husband is so excited over these images...they aren't costing him more money. (It'll be awhile before I need to replace a black ink cartridge, but I'm working on it)

Just checked...the color page search engine is mentioned in post # 22 by Tah Dah! In case you were wonderin', fun stuff. Although I should probably post a 'can be addictive' warning. But then, what about stamping isn't?

I looked at the website/search engine mentioned by GarnetJ--very very awesome. The A-Z listing helped to jog my memory of things to search for. Lots of listings for characters, ie: pokemon, barbie, paddington, care bears, bob the builder, you name it. Again....more fun stuff. Thanks for letting us know.

I right clicked on the image and chose Save pic/image. I then saved it to a folder and imported it to my PRINT SHOP program which allows me to resize the pic. This may not be much help, if you don't have a print shop type program, if nothing comes up here in this thread, perhaps PM DINI, the originator of this thread for some help. I would like to know as well in case anyone was to ask me. I think she mentioned something about it in one of her first few replies to this thread. Sorry, I'm not being very helpful.
