FEB07VSNP: Sweetheart Tashers- Cute as a Button!
Sweetheart Hostess:
Tashers
Challenge Codes:
FEB07VSNP
Challenge Time:
Saturday 9:00 pm
Challenge Title:
Cute as a Button
Challenge Description:
One of my favorite things for embellishing cards are buttons. However, something I like even more is finding a way to mimic embellishments using the masses of cheaper supplies I already have.
My challenge is Chipboard Buttons. Any shape works well for a button. Punch smaller chipboard shapes with a handheld punch. Use a crop-a-dile or an anywhere punch for larger shapes. You may also have some chipboard shapes already in button form in your stash!
I want to see what really cool things you can do with these buttons. Decorate them with paper, paint them, emboss them, anything! You can use the chipboard button as the feature of your card or simply as an embellishment, anything goes!
(links are now fixed)
~*~*~*~*~
Uploading instructions:
You have 45 minutes to complete this challenge.
When uploading, be sure to put the challenge code
FEB07VSNP in the keyword section. If you use additional keywords, you must separate them with a comma. The keywords ensure that I am able to find the card for judging!
Copying and pasting the keyword code is recommended to avoid typos.
You do not have to post a link to your creation or a thumbnail in the chat thread to be judged, though doing so will increase the number of views your card receives.
If you have any questions, Tashers will be available in the chat thread. Happy stamping!

Hi Natasha, great challenge.
So, is it OK to use chipboard buttons that were bought not made?

I don't have chipboard either. I think we can use like a cereal box or something with the punches?

You can use pre-made chipboard buttons, but I expect you to decorate/modify them in some form! Cover them with ink, paper, embossing powder, crystal effects, whatever!
Any medium that works like chipboard, like thinner cardboard is great!!

Mod Podge works well, dries fast enough too, strong double sided tape works too.

Oh this looks like so much fun! My DH is hungry, so I will feed the crew and then get to work on this challenge! Warning: I broke my corner punch the other day trying to use it on chipboard.

Yes, be carefully when it comes to punches and chipboard!! Some punches can handle the thinner cereal boxes, but most cannot!

I'd like to see the faux buttons on some sort of cards! It can be the feature of the card, or as an embellishment on your card.

Here is mine... I made handmade buttons and put holes in them with my crop-a-dile and then tied ribbon through them. Thanks for this challenge! :-)

Fun - I covered the ceral box cardboard with DP, then punched out the flowers, used a button hole punch and added the twine.
