Being an extrememly new demo, I would like to make some cards for workshops & demos but I only have white cardstock to play with at the moment while I wait for my order of SU cardstock to come in.
As I have all the SU colours in the inks and a few sets from the current catty, I wanted to make some cards that just use the white cardstock and are just stamped - no other colours of cardstock.
If anyone has any samples they could share, I'd be grateful.
BTW, the sets I have are Stipple Shells (currently still in the AUS catty), Sincere Salutations, Kanji, Cool Cat, Canvas BG.
JulieHRR has tons of cards that use white cardstock. THey are only one layer cards, but lovely. Just go to her gallery and check her out. You won't be disappointed. Happy New YEar, and welcome to Stampin up!!! Isn't it aWESOME??? I am so loving it!!!!
OH wow these girls are very talented. TFS Sarah and Mestamps. I've added u guys to my buddy list, I am always looking for new ideas. I'm fairly new as well and God knows I need all the help I can get.
I don't think we are supposed to upload anything on sundays, however; it already is MOnday so it might take a while before we can view ur card. I added u to my buddy list because now I want to see your card. I'm sure it's beautful. I will post a comment as soon as I can view it.
I should hope that u'll be okay. I was wondering if you don't mind me asking what is it that ur holding on your avatar pic? I'm a bit nosy. Also can't wait to see ur upload I keep clicking on it, and still pending. CHUCK!!!
I've attached a couple of examples so that you can get a better look at it.
Basically, you cut out two pieces of cardstock from the template, fold them as per the instructions on the template, hang something from the middle, stick the two pieces together and then stand it up.
The wire swirls are gold peel off stickers. I think you call them Class-A-Peels in the States. They are very popular here in Aus and I use them for everthing!
If you are interested, here is a link to my website, which shows my cards in my pre-SU days. These are done using a whole heap of techniques (I've been cardmaking for over 6 years now!)
OMG AWESOME!!! It sort of looks like embossing. I love them I bookmarked your website. I will look at it more slowly tomorrow. It may be early in the am for u, but where I'm from it's 3:10am and I'm sort of falling asleep on top of my keyboard. TFS, I will be in touch. Finally saw ur picture up close, Very NICE!!!!
Irene,
I would like to know which way to cut the ovals. I am very challenged at looking at directions and pics and I'd really like to make one of these cards. I've printed off the directions and your pics but I'm still so puzzled. Would appreciate your help. Congrats on becoming a demo - SU is a wonderful company and I know you'll love it. TIA. Sue
The ovals need to be cut out by hand - I used an Exacto knife.
The easiest way is to cut out the template (you will need to cut ovals out by hand), place it on the cardstock and make marks where to cut the straight edges, then run a pencil around the inside of the ovals to get your marks & then cut out your cardstock.
Wow! Awesome site Irene! I love tea folding but haven't given it a try yet - your website will come in handy!

Irene,
Did you know that there is a forum here at Splitcoast just for SU! demos? There is lots of information (including the infor that you are looking for) there.
Hi Irene,
Thanks for your answer. I've been playing with this most of the afternoon. I used my Coluzzle to cut out the ovals. Do you actually cut out 4 ovals? That's what I've done in order to make the quarters. I think I could adapt this to a smaller size, too, if I make another one. I'll post a pic of it when I'm done. Trying to do the oval that hangs, now. Sue

Thanks! Yes, I did know. Just waiting for my number to come through and I'll be "in like Flynn".
Cheers,
Irene

Cool! I'm so glad you were able to get the hang of this. And yes, you eventually end up with 4 ovals on 2 pieces of cardstock.
I'll be looking forward to seeing your examples when you are finished. As soon as I get some more SU stamp sets I'll make another myself featuring SU designs.
Cheers,
Irene

I finished this morning. The card design is quite cool and I'll be making more of these. Here's a link to two views of it in my gallery. Thank you Irene for sharing this. Sue Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Your card is fantastic! Thanks for the further inspiration. I hope you don't mind if I CASE the design for a future workshop - I just love what you did with the stamps.
Cheers,
