that's a beautiful card. The shofar really works well with a scalloped layer.

Have I mentioned lately how much I love the PTI Mazel Tov set? And have I mentioned that I crack myself up? I like to make Bar/Bat Mitzvah cards that emulate the invitations. So here's one I just did for a Bat Mitzvah tomorrow. The invitation is behind. When I showed it to DH, he asked if I could have gotten the colors any closer. LOL! And DS thought it was really funny!

This has to do with a project at the Holocaust Museum in Houston. I live nowhere near there, but I thought I'd try to make a butterfly, and thought that others reading this thread would be interested as well.

I just bought some retired SU sets from an acquaintance at the synagogue. There's a Stars of David set and a sentiment set from 1999 with "May each candle you light bring warmth to your heart and home", "May you find peace and hope in the rich traditions of this season", "Wishing you a Happy New Year with your name inscribed in the Book of Life", "L'Shanah Tovah!", "It's Your Bar Mitzvah", "It's your Bat Mitzvah", "Mazel Tov!", "Happy Hannukkah!", and "Hag Sameach!" Does anyone know what the name of the sentiment set is?
Also, I will be selling the Stars of David set (I already have it) and maybe the sentiment set. The blocks are pretty stained, but the rubber isn't so bad. Anybody interested? I will clean them with Ultra Clean before I send them out. Also, I like my stamps trimmed really close (I trim the die cuts), and these aren't as close as I would like them.
I have the word set too, and love it. I believe it is called Jewish Greetings.

Ok, I know it's November, and Rosh Hashanah was September, but it's better late than never. Right?? Well we finally uploaded our pictures. My DH has been hand dipping chocolates for about 8 years now. So we gave little bags to our friends and family for Rosh Hashanah. Here is the link.

I'm trying to finish my donations for the sisterhood Chanukah bazar tomorrow morning. I'll have the pictures in my gallery in a year or two!! I hope not!!
What are you making for the Hanukkah Bazaar? I have the possibility of being at a Hanukkah Craft fair, and I'm not sure what to make for it, other than cards of course. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Yapha

I'll try to upload the pictures tonight tomorrow for sure. I'm making peppermint patti covers using all my Jewish themed punches. They are circle U D so they should be fine. I'm packaging them in 3 and they can charge $1 a package. I think the children will like them.
I always feel obligated to buy the Chanukah scrapbook papers and dodas, but how many do you really need! I made post-it note covers! The turned out much better than I thought they would.
I'm also making tag sets for gift packaging. I'm using the new mazel tov set. These are turning out GREAT! If I had time I would have make some scrapbook/card candy from this set. It has more than just Chanukah!!
Thanks Annie! I had no idea the peppermint patties were kosher! That's awesome. It is at an Orthodox shul, so I might bring the packaging with me as well. I would love to see the stuff you made.
Thanks so much!

I got the pictures done!! We had the Chanukah Bazar today. It went well. All my items sold. I do have to say if I was doing a craft fair where I had to buy the table I would have lost money. Because of the kosher issue I used york peppermint patties. They cost about 15 cents each (I'm sure I could have found them cheaper if I had time), when you add up packaging I think I would have made 7-10cents on each package.
I figure the sisterhood make about 25$ from my donation, and I didn't give that much. So I'm happy.
Annie, these are fabulous!! Thanks so much for sharing!!

I am not sure if I can post here but I am about to launch a rubber stamping company and I will 'specialize' in Judaica as I am Jewish and have noticed a big void in Jewish stamps!
Bringing this thread to the top of the list as it's time to start thinking about Hanukkah cards. Just pulled out my PTI fabulous Mazel Tov set but I am not feeling inspired -- not feeling the clock ticking to have to sit down, I guess. Annie, your gift tags were darling! Anyone else done anything yet?

Funny you should post. I was thinking of asking the same question. I have a great idea, but haven't tried it yet. Stuck on the colors. A friend of mine got me a Sizzix Sizzlets set at the Ellison warehouse sale. It has a Magen David, candlestick/candle, Torah, and dreidel. I'm going to use the dreidel to make a suspension card - well I'm going to try. I'll post it when I've got the prototype done.
I have the same dies. The yad on my tags was one of the dies. I like them, but find them labor intensive. And they waste a lot of paper! The embossing looks really good. We don't really do much in the way of Chanukah cards.
I think I'm going to make some fabric re-usable gift bags for my DD. I hate the volume of paper for the gifts. I figure if I make a bag or two a year in a few years I'll have it covered. I was thinking or using the big star of David and embossing velvet for a few of them.
I have only done a few things so far, unfortunately nothing yet uploaded to SCS just on my blog. I'm hoping to get some time this weekend to do that and possibly make a few more cards and "prototypes".
One of these days I'll get a hold of that PTI set...
Where is your blog? I'd love to see what you have!

Here it is! My first suspension card. I have to admit that I'm so thrilled with how this came out.
I'm getting ready for a Hanukkah craft fair, and I wanted to share with you the cutest little Maccabee I made out of the Cricut paper doll cartridge. Ironically, most of the parts come out of the Nativity sections. The sword is from the prince. YOu can't really see it in the picture, but the shield has a Jewish star on it. I'm packaging them and selling them as "Make Your Own Maccabee." Let me know what you think!
