How do you get the white craft ink to soak into the sponge of the jumbo wheel cartridge? I'm not sure if there is something wrong with the white craft refill I received, or what, but it is very thick and goopy, and it's just gooped on top of the sponge inside the wheel cartridge. Is this normal? How do I get it to absorb?
The white refill for the wheels will say "Wheel Around" on the bottle. It is a thinner ink that soaks nicely into the wheel. It is not the same as the craft pad refill.
It will take time. Even with the Wheel Around ink my cartridge took forever to ink fully and evenly. I was about ready to give up. Make sure you allow time for it to soak in well.
Try taking the back of a spoon, maybe a small baby spoon, and rub it across the pad. It helps push it into the sponge. And since the spoon is rounded it doesn't damage the pad.
If you don't have a large section to wheel, I always just use my stamp pads. Roll the wheel across the pad several times to make sure you have enough ink on the wheel, and wheel on your project. If you are making a standard size card (51/2x41/4) this works great! PM me if you have any questions. Hope this helps.
