I wanted to start a thread with stamping or greeting card poetry I have collected. Please consider sharing what you have. Here are four I'll share for now until next time. Enjoy!
What's a Greeting Card?
Author Unknown.
It's a little piece of paper
That tells someone how you care;
It can be a ray of sunshine --
It can be a wish or prayer.
It can simply say, "I love you"
Or just say, "I understand"
It can be a little visit,
Or the clasp of someone's hand.
It can be a word of comfort
When somebody's heart is sad,
It can be a smile or chuckle
Making someone's heart feel glad.
It can keep folks close together
Even though they're far apart;
It can show someone you're thankful
From the bottom of your heart.
It can travel any distance
In all kinds of weather, too.
And it has the "magic something"
That some "big things"never do.
Yes, it's just a piece of paper
And it costs no big amount,
But it proves that old, old saying;
It's the little things that count."

Ode to My Wife.
By Author Unknown.
She learned to stamp on Monday
Her embossing was quite fine.
She forgot to set out dinner,
So we went out to dine.
She brayered backgrounds Tuesday
She says they are a must.
They really were quite lovely
But she forgot to dust.
On Wednesday it was birthday cards
She says that chalking's fun.
Shading, blending, and watercoloring --
But the laundry wasn't done.
Her card swap was on Thursday
Using green and blue and red;
I guess she really was engrossed,
She never made the bed!
It was shaker cards on Friday
Using techniques she just adores,
But she never seemed to notice
The crumbs on all the floors.
I found a maid on Saturday!
My week is now complete
My wife can stamp the hours away;
The house will still be neat.
Well, it's already Sunday,
And my forehead's feeling damp.
I cursed, I raved, and I ranted --
The MAID has learned to stamp!

Ode to Free Stamps
By Janine Tinklenberg.
I think that I shall never see
A stamp as lovely as one that's FREE
Arriving here by UPS!
I sit all day in strain and stress
And wait for that great big brown truck.
If my stamps aren't on it, I'm out of luck!
My heart starts beating with sheer delight!
My breath comes fast, my sight grows dim,
As if I was running in a gym!
And what a miracle to see
That brown truck stopping with stamps for me!
The UPS man must surely think
That I am much the worse for drink!
When I tear open my green front door
And greet him warmly with smiles galore.
He hands me my box and is startled to see
Me scuttle inside to search frantically
For my craft and rubber scissors bright
To mount my stamps and stamp all night!

Just a Line to Say I'm Living.
Author Unknown.
Just a line to say I'm living,
That I'm not among the dead,
Tho I'm getting more forgetful
And more mixed up in the head.
For sometimes I can't remember
When I stand at the foot of the stair,
If I must go up for something
Or if I've just come down from there!
And before the fridge so often
My poor mind is filled with doubt . . .
Have I just put the food away
Or have I come to take some out?
And then there's times when it's dark out
And with my night cap on my head
I don't know if I'm retiring
Or just getting out of bed.
So if it's my turn to write you,
There's no need in getting sore,
I might think I've already written
And don't want to be a bore.
So remember that I love you.
And wish you were here,
And now it's nearly mail time, so
I must say, "Goodbye, M'dear."
There I stood beside the mailbox
With a face so very red . . .
Instead of mailing you a letter,
I had opened it instead!
