Well, good news (for me!)!! We aren't going to go to NC that weekend--we're going to wait a week so that my husband's son can go with us to see my Mom and Grandma. So, I can come!!!!
Now . . . I'm not very experienced and I'm a shoebox swap virgin so have pity on me! LOL (You have NO idea how nervouse joining this makes me!)
Now, what to bring for food . . . how about a pasta salad?
I didn't want to put the word virgin in the title, but I'm almost a swap virgin, too. I've been in swaps with our little group in Canton who all know each other. I've never gotten together with strangers...not that we're strangers when we spend lots of time together on SCS. In fact this is only my second post. I don't even post my creations. I feel that I spend so much time on SCS that if I created a gallery and started posting pics, I would never get away from the computer.
Oh, and Anita... it's not the 24th yet! Why are you deciding now what to make for the swap?
There you go confusing yourself with me, again...

I was thing of bringing bruschetta and garlic bread or would you all like to have another kind of sandwich? Maybe chicken salad or ham salad?
Hi Jill! Glad you are coming. This will be alot of fun.
WOULD LOVE BRUSCHETTA!!!!!
Tammy's pork will hold everyone over, lol
Those who do not know my eating habits, I don't eat meat, and a lot of other things, so you will hear Tam and I poking back and forth at each other...it's all in fun
Please bring whatever you would like to make! I'm good to go with the veggie and fruit trays! Although you all are killing me with the amount of chocolate that is going to be there...

EAT THE MEAT, EAT THE MEAT!!! We'll have a contest to see who can get her to take a bite of the pork! (Seriously... this is a woman who can't even fry ground beef for tacos!!)

I can fry it...but am more than happy to pass off the spatula to those who offer to be splattered by cow fat!

You guys are too funny . . .
I'm going to show my complete newbie side . . .
If I make a project that uses Cuttlebug folders or uses Nesties or a butterfly punch or whatever . . . do I do all of that at home first and then just bring the pieces along with the rubber stamps and ink? I read the directions saying to bring things cut out--but wasn't sure how far to go with it . . .
Sorry for getting off track from the pig goo and cow fat . . .

LOL - We're going to get along just great
My thinking - What I'm doing (if I don't change my mind...) has 3 layers of nesties, so I'm going to precut them. I don't think cutting takes that much time...but it's nice to be able to open a baggie and just put everything together. But, I'm also one of those that likes to stamp first, then put the die on it and tape it down to place it where I want it...kind of a two-edged sword... I'm guessing you could go either way and no one will mind
I'm planning to bring my Cuttlebug and stacks of nesties, just in case they're needed. I'll also bring a paper cutter and white cs so if there are any oopses, we'll have backup.

I live in Barberton, but I don't think I'll be able to make that weekend.
But please, if you can PM me if you're doing any other area events.
Thanks, and I hope you have a lovely time!
So Kim, basically what you're saying is that you will bring card stock that we can stamp an image on and call it a card, then have time to eat more? You could be starting something new.
If my card only takes 2 seconds to put together . . . that will be more time for eating pork goo and calorie-less chocolate cake?
It would also allow you more time to CHEW your veggies, lol

Terri
Heck, I'll even stamp it for you . . . no sense in cleaning the chocolate off your fingers just to stamp an image!
Hi Anita and everyone else, I'm thinking about coming, but I have to find a babysitter first. I'll check back in later if I can get one. Thanks for the reminder, Anita!

OMGosh, I'll do cartwheels if you can come, Becky!!! I haven't seen you in forever!
'Nita, I'll bring my Cuttlebug and Nesties too, so there will be plenty. When I do classes at the store, most of the time I don't cut those things out first because I'm the same way... I like to stamp first, then cut it out.

Okay . . . if I get to choose, I want Tammy's pig goo and not Dar's pig poo . . . to me there is a HUGE difference! LOL
Darlene's gonna' find herself WALKING to Indiana tomorrow if she doesn't stop insulting my cooking! bwahahahahaha! ;)
Oh No ... I'll be good ... I promise! I am on bended knee ... please forgive my brainless ways ... afterall, I am a year older today and don't have as many cells as I did yesterday ... forgive me Oh Wonderous One!!
Wait a minute ... I've never had your Pork Goo before ... maybe I'm not so far off after all ... Time will tell, LOL!!!

Well, Happy Birthday!
And, that's some MAJOR sucking up just so you don't have to walk! And about making promises you can't keep . . . Indiana isn't THAT far away! LOL
I live in Garfield Heights near Cleveland. I might be able to come. I'm going on vacation but maybe back by then. How many people are coming?
Yippee ... hope you can join us!!! LAST COUNT (#47 of this thread) is 9 ... you would make 10! Hope you get back in time ... I love meeting new stampers in the area! Hope to see you there!!
I'm with Kim. I'd rather eat goo than poo anyday. Happy Birthday Dar! I can't wait to see all of you. I may have more time for stamping. Our board of directors have a meeting tomorrow morning to make some tough decisions about our library budget. Looks like we will be closed on Thursday and may have our hours cut more than that. It doesn't bother me, I could use more time at home, but for some this is their livelyhood. Sorry for getting off the track. See all you ladies on the 25th.
Terri

Oh Dear ... sounds like a double edged sword!! But I like the idea of
"more stamping time" ... sounds like another get together will be in order!!
If the proposal to the board goes through I would lose another 8 hours. No problem for me, because Larry is still working and has the health insurance.
I'll get a final list out tonight...waiting to hear back from a few emails.

GRETCHEN & KRIS - Can you please confirm whether or not you will be able to come so I can do a final count? Thanks!
Bec - Sorry to hear that :(
Sorry I haven't been around, we had a hard ending to our week. Will catch up with things in the morning.

Ok, I think this is our list... If I am missing any person or food, please just let me know - it is NOT intentional! Gretch is sick on antibiotics and steroids and will not be able to come. I just realized I did not email Kris and PM'd her so I'm leaving her on the list until I hear back from her for sure.
I told Darlene to only bring cups and ice, not drinks - it's too hard to bring drinks to fit every taste...please bring your own beverage
Is 10:00 still okay for everyone? If we're not busy Friday night, I'll run up and put the tables and chairs up then...those who know me know I'm not a morning person  The kitchen is downstairs and we'll be up. We can plug in crockpots or anything else needed upstairs with us but anything that needs to be kept cold will need to go downstairs until we're ready to eat. Although...we could do it all downstairs...but there's much more light upstairs...
Anita - plates, napkins, flatware, veggie tray
Tammy - BBQ Pork, buns (?)
Darlene - chips/dip, cups, ice
Terri - Bruschetta/garlic bread/peppermint candy/chocolate candy
Lana - Chocolate cake
Jill - fruit platter
Kim - pasta salad
Kris -

ALL sounds good to me!! Thanks for organizing this, Nita! If you need help Friday night, let me know and I'll run over and give you a hand (and I don't mean applauding, LOL)! Although I CAN do that also!!
