So a few of you saw the beautiful (if I may toot my own horn) scrapped clock that I made at a class the other night. And I have had several requests to teach you how to make one for yourself! So here is the thread to get that started!!!
This little project is super easy and will make a wonderful addition to your home decor or as a fantastic Mother's Day gift!!! I cannot take any of the credit for this lovely creation.....the lady at my LSS came up with the original idea and taught me how to make it. So I will just be guiding you along so you can make one too!!
I will be here on Wednesday, March 28th at 7pm EST to get this little 'cyber-class' started!! Hope you can join in the fun!!
Here's what you will need to make your clock!!!
- an 8x10 artist's canvas which you can purchase at any craft store but I think you can also get them at most dollar stores
- a 5x7 picture that will be the focus of your creation
- two sheets of coordinating patterned paper
- a foam brush and some acrylic paint in a matching/coordinating colour to your pp
- clock parts, which you can purchase at a craft store, OR you can buy a clock at the dollar store and take it apart
- numbers for your clock which can be die cuts, stickers, stamps and I only used 3, 6, 9 and 12
- and any embellishments that you may want to use: flowers, brads, rubons, stickles, pen to doodle etc.
Feel free to post here and ask questions and let me know if you are able to join us on Wednesday!!!
Oh i'm so excited! I already scoped out AC Moore for the canvas and will go get that today!
Thanks so much Kimmie for teaching us how to make this awesome clock!

Sounds KEWL!!!! hmmm... might be a little late but I think I might just do it! hehehe!
okay here is a VERY VERY silly question! does it HAVE to be 8x10? can it be smaller (like a small table clock) obviously the photo would ALSO need to be smaller... I get that! hehehe

Of course you can adjust it to be whatever size you like. You would need to get a smaller canvas and smaller pic but as long as you don't go too small you can still use the clock parts. The bigger size is nice though, so that the picture is the main focal point of the piece, not the clock itself.
6pm... it is the whole silly work issue! but i will jump in when i get home!
That darn work! It gets in the way doesn't it?? I wanted to make it early enough that it wasn't too late for people to get it done and get to bed, since it is a weeknight. It takes about an hour and a half to complete.
I'll be here. But I'll need someone to send me a reminder to get the supplies. I have a wedding tomorrow (I'M THE PHOTOGRAPHER!) Sunday I'll be exhausted from the wedding on Saturday. and by Monday, I'll have forgotten all about it.
I'll subscribe to this thread so I'll be getting reminders.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Kimmie for doing this for us! You're my hero!

Thank you so much for doing this class, Kimmie! It will be great! I will be gone when you start the class, but I will jump in when I can!
Yay Sheri!! Glad you can play!!
I just got back from the dollar store and got my canvases and my clocks. They are actually cute little clocks and I hate to take them apart....but it's all for the cause, right??
Okay, I bought the canvas, do I need Mod Podge also? Would I stamp on the Canvas with the SU ink, StazOn ink or what?
I'm hoping to be able to be around on Wed. evening for the "class", but I want to make sure that I have all the supplies I need.
Hi Rebecca! Glad you want to play! I didn't use Mod Podge...I just attached my papers to my canvas with Sticky Tape and I didn't stamp on the canvas myself, just painted it, but if you do, I would suggest using Stazon as you will be stamping on painted canvas.
If anyone has any other questions, don't hesitate to ask!! I'm so looking forward to this!!
would you believe Wednesday is the only night of the week I have to myself! YEAH! I'll see if I can find the items needed. Thanks for taking the time to do this Kimmie!

Sooooo, I got my canvas and a cheap clock to take apart for $2!! YAY!! Can't wait...I'll likely be late for class though

Hi Alanna!! *wave* I'm so glad you can join us.....just jump in whenever you can!!
KimmieBella---Should i go ahead and paint my canvas or does it dry quickly? As you can see, I can't wait and I really should be doing some work in my office, but!!!!!.

Hehehehe!!!! I came over here to ask that exact same question!
Oh, I would love to join but I have a cub scout meeting around that time. Maybe later.
You should be able to do it later, just without all the chatter and question asking that will be going on at the original time. And I'm sure Kimmie will still answer any questions you have later. :-D
OH KIMMIE! I just love your clock! And what a great idea to do an online class! I don't think I'll be able to get the supplies by tomorrow but maybe? And maybe my boys will leave me alone so I can play, too!!

Man I have been out of the loop for a few days! I didn't realize that you had this all planned out. Luckily, I can be here! I have an appointment at 4 but I will make sure to get them out in plenty of time to have fun making this clock! Now I have to get all of the supplies!

Hahaha! Yes, it does dry fairly quickly but yes, you certainly could paint your canvas ahead of time, so you are all ready to go with the rest of it!!
