I am heading into my craft area this morning to try to get some cleaning done! I know exactly what is going to happen though! I will start putting things away and organizing and then before I know it I will be stamping and making and the mess will just get bigger! LOL
Have a great day ladies!

Morning! I was woken up at 1:30am when a co-worker called me. She said one of our co-workers passed away in her sleep a couple hours before that. This co-worker that passed away was a close friend, and had a lot of personal stress in her life. Her mom & husband were both in bad health and she was constantly taking care of them. But she was also ignoring taking care of herself in that process.
I still haven't heard how she passed, but I'm sure it had to do with her health. She'd lost 30lbs in the last month & I had told her just a week ago to go see the Dr about it. She never listened to me though.
I had a hard time sleeping last night. Nothing more I can do about it now, but it's was quite a shock still. So, I'm getting up now and going to do some stamping to hopefully take me mind off of it for a bit.

Aw Jennifer I'm so sorry to hear that, how awful and so sudden. If she has been ignoring herself there maybe have been a horrible health issue that went undetected. Saying a prayer for her family.

Well, I got my challenge done & posted on my blog. I like how it turned out, but I'm not so sure it's designed for a "kid" so much as others may be. But it's for my niece, so it's for a kid!

Ah I love days like that too and I'm sorta having one today. Besides picking up toys so I don't kill myself tripping over them, I'm just relaxing, crafting, and doing up some laundry. I posted my challenge on my blog. I see some others did too, I'll do blog hops tonight.

Melanie I've been wondering the same thing about Marsha. Her blog is named Stamping down South so I'm wondering if she is near me. B/c you know 'down South' means Alabama....duh...that sounded stupid.
Congrats to Jennifer on her wonderful card. It was beautiful!
AnnMarie I need to mapquest to see how far away you are to me. We are going to Pigeon Forge, TN for Christmas, how far away is that from you?
Dad got home yesterday and had another shock from his difibulator. His dr. says the med is still getting into his system and should be working fully within a week. I hope so, my stomach is in knots worrying about him.

I live in the northeastern part of NC, in Camden. I am about 45 minutes from Chesapeake, VA and 45 minutes from the Outer Banks. It takes us 4 hours to drive from here to Greensboro (they actually live in Summerville). We just arrived back home around 1:00 today. Wouldn't it be great if we all lived close enough to have a get together!

Well, I spent the day in my craft room making cards & listening to my radio. There was a radio station that played all 80's songs today. Made me feel like I was back in high school again!
I got 7 cards done today! I really needed it, since it was relaxing. This is the first time I've not had that medicine in me for bronchitis, and it feels good! I still have a tickle in my throat, but it's nearly gone.
I also needed this relaxing time, since I know work will be pretty stressed tomorrow. They're doing an autopsy on my co-worker, but they think she had a blood clot in her ankle that traveled. She fell a week ago & sprained her ankle pretty bad. I feel so bad for her family, since it's so close to the holiday!
Well, I'm chatty tonight! hehe Better go lay down now & get some reading done before bed. Night!!

Good Morning!
Sounds like some of us spent some time crafting on sunday. I know I did!!!! I worked on some card kits, since I have a ton of them. I also organized my craft area, again....hehehehe.
But I found I have tons of glitter, but not sure how I stick it to the card or page, duh!?! I have a glue pen, but that is clumpy looking. I also to my dismay have flocking, don't even know where this came from. Any ideas on how to use both?
Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear about your co-worker. That is so shocking to hear. Thinking of you and ((hugs)).
It is a short week for me, I only work on Monday and Tuesday. Hoping to work on getting my Christmas tree up on Wednesday so we can decorate it over the long weekend.

Tracey I went to Youtube and found some great videos on how to use flocking. I'm sure they probably have some for glitter also. When I get a duh moment with crafting I usually go there. That is how I learned my way around my Cricut Design Studio as well.
I'm so glad everyone had such a wonderful, crafting Sunday. I'm really excited for the VSD. My mom asked me if I wanted to do Christmas shopping that day but I told her I would be at a crop. She was apauled (sp?) because normally she goes with me to all of them. When I explained she thought it was a really cute idea for us because I talk about my SCS friends all the time.

Good morning!
It is raining here today! I have some cleaning to do today so that is the perfect weather!
Jennifer, I am so sorry to hear about your friend. Big hug!
Tracey, if you figure out how to stick that glitter down let me know! I have oodles of it too! I bought some thinking it was embossing powder, but guess what...it just slid right off! LOL
I hope that everyone has a wonderful short week! I am so exited about Thanksgiving!! I just love it!
Happy Monday everyone!
Big hugs!

Tracey - for the glitter if it's very fine I often use score-tape, so it ends up looking like a glittery border or something. Here's a pic of what I mean: http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/ga...&ppuser=201795
The gold is the glitter.

Hey ladies....just wanted to check in. Today has been a bit of a blah day but I did get my backpack done and posted. Not my best work but it's done!
Has everyone that is part of this challenge done with their card and have it posted? I will look a bit later and if they are all there I will start the survey in the morning.
I ran some errands today in the cold, rain, and wind with both the kids....man I hate that. But I did get 90% of my Christmas gifts back to the states mailed off....that's a good thing. I think I have been seeing on TV that we only have till the 11th to ensure it makes it by Christmas and the longer I wait....the busier our 1 and only post office becomes!
I'm just about done with all the "components" of my Christmas cards now it will be just putting them together which I can't wait to do. I'm ready to have them done...they are taking up a ton of room on my table and I hate trying to have one project out when I'm trying to do another one!

Man April I hate running errands with the kids in the rain. It's a big enough pain doing it without the rain. I'm feeling for you. I hope you guys have a nice weather day for Thanksgiving so the kiddos can play outside. I'm headed over to your blog now.

hey ladies...just checking in and reading all the chatter.
Tracey, same short week here...isn't it grand! My hubby mentioned us putting the tree up Wednesday too...I just hate doing that.
Am I alone here? I love putting the ornaments on it but assembling it and putting the lights on are a pain. I'm going to have to put up a lot of my crafting stuff too when we set up the tree b/c my crafting desk and all my overflowing stuff is in our living room. Yeah, weird I know but we have a very small house and nowhere else to put it all.
After Christmas I'm getting an old chest of drawers from my mom to put in my living room. It's antique'y' looking and I'm going to put all my (all that will fit) overflow in it. I'll put framed pictures and a flower arrangement on top and make it look like an old, vintage piece of furniture. No one that comes over has to know that it's really my crafting supply hiding place. hee! hee!
Going to check out some challenges and try to get a swap finished.

Hi gals! It was a sad day, but we found out she passed away from a blood clot. She sprained her ankle a week ago, and it caused a blood clot that traveled. They're short on money, so they're having one visitation tomorrow 5-7 & the funeral is right after. I'll be going since it's right after work.
Thank you everyone for your kind thoughts.

Hello gals, I worked on some Christmas cards tonight. I'm way behind and had myself working on 10 a week to make sure I have enough but I'm WAY behind. I think I only have about 10 done and should be up to 20 by now. Oh well, what to do!!!
Off to blog hop before bed. I ran out of steam quick tonight.

I love to do my tree but I'm with you. It takes up a huge part of our living room here in this house and with two little ones we have needles everywhere. Plus I too have to move something out of the room to put the tree into the room. We normally go around the 1st of the month of Dec. It's hard to get a fresh tree around here much earlier than that anyway...Germans don't normally get trees this early, they get their trees about two weeks before and don't even bring it into their houses until Christmas eve.

Ah tree, yes!!!! DH and I have had many conversations about where to but our tree. We decided that our rocking chair and another stand would have to go up to the attic to make room. We will be putting ours up the day after we get back from Disney. We get back on a Monday, tree will go up Tuesday, I'll spend Wed-Fri decorating the rest of the house and tidying up for a mom's group Christmas party we have at my house on Saturday the 12th. I'll have 15 ladies at my house, no clue how we'll all fit but we'll make it work.

Good morning lovely ladies!
We put our tree up around the middle of December every year! We spend the day before getting the house "Christmas ready!" We clean and move stuff around to make a place for the tree. We drive up the mountain to a tree farm and walk around the farm until we find the perfect one and then one of my son's cuts it down! There is always some debate over which tree is the perfect one though! I like a ginormous one and the entire rest of the family likes a reasonably sized one! LOL We have vaulted ceilings so I say why not?! They always give in and let me pick though! Funny thing is that sucker always grows on the ride down the mountain and when we lug it in and set it up it takes up a large part of the living room! Ah...love it! We drink hot chocolate and have tree decorating snacks while we decorate the tree! Big grin!
