Default need Blog help!!

I have been trying to make my blog just really a WOW feature. I see all the wonderful blogs on here and think, " Why can't I do that". I am so at a loss. I have a blog set up through blogger but to be honest, I really don't think they are the easiest to use. I tried setting one up through Weebly and I don't seem to find them all that easy either. Perhaps it is just me.

I have been playing with Microsoft Publisher and making a web site on there to be published. Still working on that one. Can't seem to get the pages to link correctly.

Does anyone have a suggestion. Do I need to be paying for a service to make it really pop. I see some of the host have an option to pay for a service. Maybe that is my problem. Maybe I need to purchase a program or rights to use a service.

I am open to any and all suggestions. I really think a blog will help my business. I have quite a few ladies who look forward to what I have to share. Just wish I could give them a really cool site.

Thanks
Melony

Here is my blog site now.

I use Blogger and find them very easy to use. What difficulty do you seem to be having? If you let me know what you are specifically looking to do maybe I can talk you through a few things.

Thanks for you help. I am trying to make my blog look professional with pages for them to go too. Such as: Idea Gallery, Techniques, Featured items and such. I also want to dedicate a couple pages to family content, that way if my family looks at it they can go directly to that page with out having to go through all the stampin Up Information. I just don't see this option with Blogger. Then again maybe I am not sure what it is called or how to set it up.

With my current blog, I create a post and then at the bottom of the post it allows me to choose categories for the post. I do, this and that is helping however I guess there might be away to keep them from showing up on the home page. I will give an example

Our loveable dog has his own category called Louis Chronicles. When I create a new post about him, I would like it to go directly to his own page and not necessarily be on the front page, like most post show on.

Does this make since? I am open to all suggestions. I know you can do this with a blog, I have seen it. Weebly has the capablity but I can't seem to get it to work right.

Thanks for any and all help.

I used to do this before I went with a web-site. So it is a do-able situation. You would just have to create as many blogs as you want pages. Blogger does not have a limit on how many free blogs you can have. For example if you already have http://www.moorelife-melony.blogspot.com/ for your home page name you one for your dog http://www.moorelife-melony-Louis.blogspot.com/ and the one for your family http://www.moorelife-melony-family.blogspot.com/ etc

So here if you create a blog just for posts about him they would only be posted with a link at the top (like I have on mine) to go to the other categories. You would create all of the blogs exactly the same that way it just looks like you are changing a page rather than going to a whole other place. So you would log into your blog go to Dashboard and decide which blog or category you would like to post that subject on.

Does this make since? I am open to all suggestions. I know you can do this with a blog, I have seen it. Weebly has the capablity but I can't seem to get it to work right.

Does this make sense? You can even move posts by copying the HTML of a post to another blog. So if you want to move all of your dog ones to one just for him. Go to Edit post, Copy the HTML and paste it in his blog. Then you can go back to the other go back to edit and delete it.

Your blog is nice, I think that you just need to make your blog more "YOU". Check this link out for some cool backgrounds, banners, templates and extras:

I agree that having seperate blogs is the way to go. This way your family doesn't have to sort through your craft stuff and your craft friends don't have to sort through your family stuff to find what they are looking for. And you can still have links on each to the other. I thought Blogger was very easy to set up and it just took a little bit of looking around to figure out other things I wanted to do. Mine's not fancy at all, but it does what I want it to do.

This forum IS a great place to get answers, but you might also want to check out The Blogger Help website. It should be able to answer all your questions about using blogger.

Thanks for the suggestion on the different blogs, not sure that is the way I would like to go.

Debbie: I went to your blog, which is very nice. I see you have what I am looking to do with mine. At the top of your blog you have, Home, newsletter, about me and so on. This is the element I am looking to add to my blog site. Can you tell me how you added those or do I need to upgrade to a website.

I am beginning to think that a website is more of what I am looking for. I know if I could add these elements I think my site would look more professional and my customers would love it. Perhaps even strum up more business this way.

Mine is a web-site but it can be done just as easy in Blogger with various blogs created and linked with the navigation.

After you have created the various pages (blogs that you want)
Go to your layout page/ Create a new Gadget, Text/ write the words you want/highlight and link (globe and chains) to where you want them to go.

After you have that all done just drag to the top underneath your header.
