Smile Paper Cutter suggestions

I would like to get a new paper cutter, but before I bought one, I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions. The one I have now seems to leave frayed edges or doesn't always seem to cut straight. I would like to get something that cuts really crisp and straight edges. Any suggestions on what I should get and where I can get it? Thanks for your help.

I love, love, love my Tonic guillotine trimmer. It is the best trimmer that I have ever had. It cuts straight every time. Plus you can get it from Joann.com with a coupon for less than 30 bucks. One warning is that it is huge.

I have the following paper trimmer and absolutely love it. I've tried several quillotine cutters which are really nice too but like this one because it is portable and light weight and best of all it has a 6 inch base so I never have to use the extender arm.

I've been looking at this one at Hobby Lobby and have a 50% off Michael's coupon for next week that I'm taking to Hobby Lobby. Thanks for confirming my decision!

I have this one too and it does a decent job of cutting straight. My main trimmer is an MM precision trimmer but it's somewhat heavy and bulky so I bought this lighter, more portable trimmer for quick use/small cuts. When I'm scrapbooking and having to cut 12" pieces, I always use the MM one.

From what I've seen on the bazillion threads on the mb's about trimmers, you can't go wrong with a Tonic guillotine or an MM trimmer. Those are the favorites. (or a Genesis if you can afford it and wait a long time)

I bought an XActo 12" laser-guided guillotine paper cutter about four years ago and I love it! The laser works great when I have multiple images on a sheet of 12x12c/s that I need to cut. I've gotten so used to my laser that I have trouble using any other!

You need to decide which type of cutter you want; rotary or guillotine, first - there are opponents for both styles. I prefer a guillotine cutter and for the money, the Tonic 12" is perfect for me. Not the smaller one with a swing out arm, but the full sized 12" cutter.

If you do a search of "paper trimmers" or "paper cutters" here in the forums there are tons of threads already where crafters have asked the very question you have asked!

Here's what pops up with an initial search of "paper trimmer."

I meant proponents....

although I guess opponents works, too. That's what happens when you post pre-coffee.

Looks like it is on sale at Joanns.com right now:

otherwise, you'll have to do a search in your area and see who carries them. At the time I got mine, online was the only place I found it. Not sure about now.
