Question Has anyone made index pages of their loose glitter??

I found out that I have a LOT of glitter so I need to index it somehow so I can remember to use it. I have a little notebook that holds business cards so I want to use that but I wasn't sure of the easiest way to put the glitter on the cardstock. Has anyone actually done this that can give me some input? I have heat and stick powder, sticky strip, glue dots, mono multi adhesive and probably a few other things. Do you think sticky strip would be the easiest? I probably have at least 40 colors of glitter.

I'm going to do the same with my EP but I'll just use versamark ink and emboss it. This is one reason I don't really want to use heat and stick powder for the glitters-I'm already going to be embossing a bunch with this.

I saw a Christmas card that had a perfect glitter outline around the image. Upon further digging, I found that she actually used Scor Tape to hold the glitter. So I gave it a try and it worked GREAT! I would bet that Red Liner tape would work equally as well.

HTH~

I'd use a strong dry ahesive such as Scor-Tape or redline tape, and then I would run the cardstock through my Xyron with the laminating cartridge just to make sure I don't have any glitter particles flying around.

Since you already have the redline tape, that's what I'd use. To keep the glitter from going everywhere, after it's applied to the tape, just cover it with some wax paper and brayer over it to burnish. I did the same sort of thing and just used the sticky side of white address labels to stick the glitter to (I punched the labels with a flower punch (because I'm such a girl), removed the backing and then dipped the flower into the jar of glitter. It cut down on mess because I didn't have to pour the glitter out of the jar. Then I just pressed down on the glitter with my fingers to kind of set it and glued the flowers to my index sheet. I was using Doodlebug sugar coating glitter, and doing it this way I haven't noticed any glitter shedding, even though address labels aren't any kind of "super adhesive"

Great idea to just dip the sticky stuff into the bottle-I think I will use the sticky strip like the pps mentioned and just dip it like this. Thanks everyone!! I am so excited to do this project. I don't get out much.

I started on it and wow is it ever messy! I'm cutting about a 1" piece of sticky strip, dipping it into the glitter jar, and then take off the backing and stick it to the paper. Then I handwrote the names under each strip. It looks really pretty.

I never thought about doing this before. I just ordered my first glitters a few days ago. I guess now would be a good time to start before they get out of hand. This is a great idea.

Default glitter index

I have an index I made that I carry in a baggie in my purse for when I go shopping. I tend to buy things I like twice.....

I put 2 inch strips of red line tape on CS and spirnkled glitter on one at a time in color order, then wrote the color and AI (Art Institute), MS (Martha Stewart) SU, etc........in case I run out of a color.

It has worked out great and it really does not make a mess- I make lots of indexes and have them all together in one baggie- Copics, Ranger ink and Alcohol inks, etc......

Sounds like you're done already, but I did this just using craft glue (Alene's or whatever) for the glitters. I also did it with the embossing powder, paints, stickles, markers, Perfect Pearls etc. etc. and keep it all in a binder, along with all my punch samples (so I can see if a certain punch works around an image, for example). It comes in handy a LOT.
