Default Grandma's quilt

I remember seeing a quilt that was done with 5 squares. 4 made the major part of the quilt, then the other square was cut diagonally 4 times. I can't find samples of this card anywhere. I have tried using search word "quilt" but to no avail. Can someone please point me in the right direction.

Thank you

Lori

Default Found it

I found the exact link : It was Kim Wilson's technique. See if this link works.

The link leads to the demonstrator only usergroup gallery. Only members of that group will be able to see it.

I believe that link only works if you have access to the SU demo side....

Here's a tutorial for the design you're looking for: http://stampinat6213.blogspot.com/2007/07/quilt-card-tutorial.html.

Fabulous. Thank you for finding that. I can't wait to try it. I use the old style Creative Memories albums so I have hundreds of 12" x 1/2" strips from every piece of paper I use as background. Have a few more albums to use up before I quit doing that. Now they have the true 12 x 12 like everyone else. Now if we could just get the paper manufacturers to quit making paper that is "almost" 12 x 12. I suppose they are saving millions a year but it makes me crazy to have paper that isn't the size it says it is.

Don't worry about the size for this project. I did a card, and being really concerned about paper waste (plus I didn't have seven different shades of the same color), I just measured from the center line (of the card) end to the shortest point of the card edge. That way I only had to trim small triangles off the card after affixing the strips.

I hate almost having the correct size paper for a project only to be unable to use it because it was 1/8" (or 3/8") too short on my leftovers and disliking having to use a full sheet of paper just for a tiny amount.

BTW, the triangles could be used in another paper quilt design.
