Good evening, ladies! It has been a LONG day for this Kindergarten teacher with one week of school left. It cannot come soon enough!
Our go-to-meal is often chicken tenders or chicken patties. We almost always have frozen chicken breasts or chicken patties in the house. We make these awesome honey dijion chicken tenders which are super easy and amazing....always!
When my grill isn't broken I like to marinade chicken breast strips and cook those on the grill for a quick and healthier dinner.
Or if I plan ahead I'll throw pork roast in crockpot all day and shred and add BBQ sauce. The boys love pulled pork sandwiches and it's fast and easy as long as I prepare ahead. Are you seeing a trend here? FAST and EASY.
I love seeing all your go to meals. Good ideas, too.
It is hard for me to believe that tomorrow is already Thursday. My dh has been home feeling a bit under the weather. DId I tell you all that I made it on to Round 2 for the Finalists for the May Arts DT? Next projects are due July 10 with the DT selection the end of July. I was shocked and so very excited.
If you haven't had a chance to check out the May Arts blog and the Nautical Challenge you should check out my dear friend Abby's project - a shadow box in memory of her Dad and his Navy days. It is out-of-this world and well worth a gander.
My apologies for not posting a question each day. I get easily distracted and think about doing it but then I think of something else that leads me to doing something else, etc. So, I think I should change the name to Question for the Undistracted Times or something on that order.
? You are not in the mood to craft, you only want to sit and watch TV. What is your TV show of choice?
If it is summer, and my shows are all on reruns, I look for something with shoot em up, beat em up fun. Unless I find something on National Geographic. Gotta love them cute little critters out in the world. Or like last night - a giant python ate a small deer - whole - horns and all. They said he wouldn't eat again for a year. I couldn't believe the horns didn't tear through his skin. yes, his jaws can spread that wide - he always starts with the head - after squeezing him to death 1st of course.
Now, isn't that a nice thing to think about this early in the morning???!!!!
Karen - proud owner of 5 cats and 1 dog. My Blog
As for TV - I have to have it on even when I do craft - but I watch reruns of NCIS, Criminal Minds, etc - something I've seen before so I don't have to really pay attention. Lately when I am not crafting I have been catching up on movies. I have also enjoyed watching a series of shows on on demand - just watch all of the first season of Orphan Black last week.
All the May Arts projects have been so neat! Congrats, Joan!!
I'm officially on summer break so my craft room and I will be seeing each other quite a bit in the next month! Lots of swaps and projects to work on...including putting my secret sister's package together. As much as I love shopping I also love preparing packages as well!
As for T.V...I'm totally a reality show junkie. Bravo is one of my favorite channels! I also love Sex and the City re-runs because they always make me laugh and bring me back a happy place when I first started watching them in college.
I just wanted to let you'all know that I'm leaving for vacation on Monday morning for a week. So I most likely wont be posting for the next week or so. I'm going to Orlando Florida for the Close to my Heart convention. I'm so excited! My friends and I are going a couple if days early so we can go visit Mickey.
My current fav tv show - So You Think You Can Dance. Those people are so talented! Yes, I'm a reality tv junkie too - besides SYTYCD my other favorite summer reality tv shows are Big Brother, HGTV star, Food Network Star, and The Great Foodtruck Race. Of course, I often craft while watching these shows. I love my DVR!
By the way - I haven't seen my SS on here at all - other than her original post.
The night before we had over 2" of rain with limbs down and trees in our neighborhood uprooted. Last night we had over 4" of rain and you hear chainsaws throughout he neighborhood taking care of more uprooted trees and branches. WE are in line for another round of the same later today.
But, the storm isn't what is making my heart heavy today. We just returned from putting two fur babies down. They were only 6 months apart in age and 14 years of age. One belonged to my daughter and the other my Jason and myself. They went together as fur baby friends/siblings. We look at our fur babies like members of our family. Now, our home is empty, our hearts, too. The tears will fall for days and our hearts will ache. We will still call out for them, look for them, listen for their call, and miss seeing their excitement when we come home.
I hope you all have a better weekend than we will so my apologies for being possibly absent a few days.
