You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
You know it is fast coming! What? The Holidays!!!! Your help is needed to bring smiles to SCS crafters! All elves please apply!
This is a 1:1 swap with a $25 minimum paper crafting spending limit. If you choose to spend more, that is fine, but not required. The $25 minimum does not include the cost to ship to your SECRET ELF or if you choose to order online shipping cost to you. The $25 minimum spending limit should be related to your SSís paper crafting interests. Other items you may want to include in their package (candy, candle, lotion, etc.) are above and beyond the $25.
Sign up by indicating your interest on the thread and then PM me (Joan7356) your mailing address.
This information must be received by the date this thread closes or you will not be included in this swap.
Mailing Deadline: Monday, November 25, 2013
Be sure to include a card/tag indicating your name/Splitcoast username so your SECRET ELF knows who to thank.
Because this is a Holiday Swap - Make it festive. Wrap each item and number them. Put them all in a stocking, a wrapped box, a cookie tin...use your imagination.
A DC # is recommended(except if shipping to Canada or Canada to US). Keep that number until your SECRET ELF has posted a thread thank you.
Check in on this thread a minimum of 1x/week with a simple hello or chat daily.
Stay connected with this thread. Please, don't make me hunt for you. I would rather hear something from you, than nothing.
Complete Secret Elf in post #2.
List items you want. Give detail. Provide links if it is a recently released item.
As you complete this please include items that can also be bought from local stores, too. Please remember not everyone shops online.
When the thread is closed, do not make any changes to your survey.
Do not send items that your assigned SECRET ELF does not want. Please send only new, unopened packages unless your SECRET ELF has indicated she is willing to accept such.
Upon receipt of your SECRET ELF package post a thank you.
Your SECRET ELF spent time and put much thought in your surprise package and should be recognized for her effort. Plus, we all love hearing about what you received!
If you can't commit and fulfill these obligations, please do not sign up.
Just wanted to post this info as stated by the moderators of Splitcoast for your info:
Since Secret Sister swaps are typically swaps done one-on-one, each sister istreated as a kind of hostess. We have the "main" hostess who gathersall the info and distributes the names and info. But, the sisters areultimately responsible for sending their goodies.
That being the case, please note that Secret Sister swaps are treated by the moderators just a bit differently than most swaps. The following rule applies to all participating Secret Sister swappers:
Hostesses that fail to return swaps will be banned from the entire Splitcoaststampers site.
In other words, each person participating in the secret sister swaps is considered a hostess. Failing to uphold your end of a secret sister swap is considered stealing (and ultimately mail fraud if the postal system is used)and will not be tolerated.
By posting this, we don't mean to ruin the fun of Secret Sister swaps. We just want all participants to be aware that giving is just as fun as receiving and getting gypped just plain sucks. Please consider this when signing up to participate in a secret sister swap.
For this swap, we will be using a different take using my poor remake to... The Twelve Days of The Holidays.
On the twelfth day of The Holidays ,
my Secret Elf sent to me Twelve (12) ______ , Eleven (11) ______ , Ten (10) ______ , Nine (9) ______ , Eight ( 8 ) ______ , Seven (7) ______ , Six (6) ______ , Five (5) GOLDEN _____ , Four (4) ______ , Three (3) ______ , Two (2) ______ , And One (1) ______!
We won't follow the normal course for this song, but will go backwards working our way to "And One (1)". When completing the elf portion in post #2 think in a variety of quantities (inches, feet, yards, dozen, calories, rolls, half-dozen, sheets, pads, packages, boxes, set, etc.) Give your Secret Elf lots of options.
It will be up to your Secret Elf to take items on your list and apply them to the numbers in our 12 Days of The Holidays. For example, you may list you would like a dozen Godiva chocolates. Your Secret Elf could take that an use it for 3 - Three Godiva Chocolates.
Each package needs to be wrapped and numbered from 12 -1.
Upon receipt of your Secret Elf Holiday package,
Do post the package was received.
Then... Wait! Do not Open!
Opening Day is Wednesday, December 18.
After you open your 12 packages, copy and paste the "lyrics" above, filling in 12 -1,
And, of course, a thank you to your Secret Elf.
So, you want to become a Secret Elf. Applying is easy! All you have to do is write a note....
Dear Secret Elf....
For the Holidays, ....
The rest is up to you. Use your imagination of what you want to say.
Provide detail, links if necessary, photos. Do you like a certain range of colors and detest others? Are there items you don't use, don't want, have too much of? Be sure to speak up when writing Dear Secret Elf. Is there someone in your family or a pet you want possibly be considered by your Secret Elf? Mention them and what you are thinking for them. Do you like homemade items and have something in mind that maybe your Secret Elf could make? It doesn't hurt to ask!
Give your Secret Elf lots of choices as you don't want her to revert to giving coal!
Also, please indicate if you are willing to ship to US only, Canada only, or US to Canada/Canada to US.
Each day I will post a Christmas Trivia question.
Each day you answer and have the correct answer you receive one point.
There is no catch-up on this game. The answer must be posted/dated the same day as the question posed. I will try to post each question sometime before NOON CST each day.
The person with the most points at the end (December 17) will win a small prize from me.
In the event of a tie I will do the ever-so-technical hat drawing of a name.
No editing of your post with the answer. Please don't google the answers! Let's find out who really has the smarts when it come to Christmas.
One spot for me please. I will come back with my survey this coming week.

"Friends" SS Swap 11 Days of Spring SS Swap
Good morning, we have the little guy today. He's such a busy little guy. He will be off to kindergarten next year so we are enjoying this time with him. I will be getting ready to go to work shortly, after 10 days off not sure i'm ready to hit the grindstone again.
What sort of things are on my wish list this year?
Well, I’ve had a bit of a rough, topsy-turvy year so far. I accepted a new job, and in the spring, moved cross-country with a DH and twin teen DSD’s but that fell apart over the summer/move, and now I am in the process of a divorce and they moved back east. So here I am, in a new city, new job, with no family or friends here, in a way-too-big house that I had custom built for a family but am now alone in. And that all came about in time for my 49th birthday. But I’ve decided to make this MY year anyhow, as I turn 50 next year, and am calling it my Countdown to Health, to be healthier mentally, emotionally, spiritually, physically and financially.
So I’d like things to encourage me in that Countdown to Health and help me start off a great new year.
I’m on the Blood Sugar Solution (diet) so I can’t have any caffeine, gluten, dairy or sugar (not natural or artificial ones). I know, makes it tough on holidays, but I eat things like nuts, dried fruit (no sulfurs or sugars), kale chips, rice cakes (plain, organic, with sea salt), seaweed snacks, natural/no-sugar-added fruit snacks, etc. I am allowed 70%+ dark chocolate sometimes as a treat. I cook alot with herbs and spices so love those or healthy recipes that don't have those taboo ingredients for me.
I'm a Christian Woman of Faith. I have two grown children and a grandson about to turn 3.
I quilt, bead/make jewelry, crochet, sew and paper craft (scrapbooking, cards, ABACs, etc.). Also love to garden organically.
Country Style, Anything Cynical/Negative, Skulls/Witches/Devils/Zombies/Vampires or similar, Cats, No ribbon/glitter/glue/eyelets/flat stickers please unless part of a coordinated kit. No candles or lotions (have too many) or anything vanilla scented (gives me a headache).
Would love to receive:
Coordinated/themed color items or kits so would love if most of the stuff I get works together to create some great projects. Could be for scrapbook pages or cards or ABACs.
Love Dragonflies, Nature, Birds (esp. cardinals, owls, chickadees, finches), Fall and Winter, Travel, Gardening, and my Grandson (about to turn 3 yrs old) are my favorite subjects/themes.
Thinking of doing my Christmas tree this year with some nature theme -- not a country look, but more of a wooded/nature theme, smaller tree so not too big ornaments.
Would love to learn and have a die for those new file folder cards I see on SCS.
Would love positive and humorous things.
LOVE to try new products and ideas and techniques. I would love to receive mini kits with instructions and samples -- make me something fun and send me the items and instructions on how to make one myself! I can't find many classes here so that's a perfect thing for me!
NOTE! I am just fine with used stamps or dies as long as they work just fine still! I love recycling. My list is long but ANYTHING from it is just fine -- I just hoped to give you lots of ideas to choose from.
Dies/EF wish list:
Poppy Stamps dies: picket fence, classic screen door, madison arched window, winterflake frame, winterflake corner, trulani wreath, lattice edge.
Tim Holtz Sewing On the Edge die or Festive Greenery Decorative Strip
File folder card dies
Any Rosettes (snowflakes are fab) dies -- I haven't tried those yet!
Shaped and Pop-Up Card Dies, love the new SU ones
SU Dress-Up Framelits
Marianne Design Christmas Village Collection, Coffee Cup or Butterfly 1 Dies
Nature-theme dies or embossing folders
Flower dies or punches to make my own paper flowers
Supplies wish list:
Adhesive metal sheets to die cut and emboss
Adhesive fabric sheets
Sets of fun larger die cuts in 6 or more since I usually make at least 6 cards at a time -- like doilies or teacups or houses or trees, nature themes, etc.
Bails for jewelry, i.e. View Jewelry Bails by SunAndMoonCraftKits on Etsy
Shaped glass beads for jewelry Teapot bead caps Love the owls bails at 20 Sun And Moon Vintage Owl Head Bails Mix by SunAndMoonCraftKits
Triangle pendant and glass kits or jewelry pieces like Blank Pendant Trays from Sun And Moon by SunAndMoonCraftKits
Metal embellishments or charms
Pops/dots/foam dimensionals -- I use a lot
Christmas red stickles
Red nailheads or small adhesive bling/rhinestones
SU or CTMH Scrapbook Page Coordinated Kits or DSPs
SU CS in white, vanilla, real red, cherry cobbler, eggplant, night of navy, espresso -- seems like I'm always running out of those
SU Stampin' Mist (cleaner) refills
Any pearls and rhinestone brads and adhesive bling
Tiny adhesive black dots for bird/animal eyes
Textured papers and washi tapes, especially in Asian designs
Handmade coordinated embellishments, i.e. flowers, card candy, around themes I like
I have been out of swaps for quite a while but would love to get back into it! Can I please be included in the elves swap? I am in Canada, so I hope that isn't a problem. I will mail either or... Thanks so much!
Secret Elf is here and now we get to think again of new fun things to come our way. Do you wish for embossing folders, markers, paper, dies or punches??? Well get those thinking caps on and have some fun. Do not be shy and say what you want, for Secret Elf will never know what my be coming your way in a stocking or tin or box or santa hat or mittens or just about anything.
Have fun and enjoy.
lol I just restarted getting into stamping so have a lot to replace. I have very little ribbon, brads, etc. & have mainly looked at SU's stuff since I got back into it. Now since seeing the Alice/OZ/Nightmare swap I have started looking around for stamps/paper to match that & found stuff I like or want to try. I have fallen in love with some of the graphic 45 papers
Like Susan, I have had a crazy past year, but mine began 2 years ago. I left a difficult relationship with 4 of my kids and purchased a home in a small town. So in the process a lot of my supplies were put on the back burner and later damaged due to a sewer back up. After several more leaks and fixes I think we are on the way to a happy home, but it hasn't been without a lot of struggling! I also left a job of 15 years for a different job in a community closer to our new home. It is still a bit for me to drive but I do have more time with my family after work and in the evenings. My oldest daughter lives in another province with her boyfriend so I don't have a lot of chance to see her anymore.
One thing I can tell you is that I love chocolate, and if you are in the US, I LOVE Dunkin Donuts coffee. It is a luxury I never get! I also have a tassimo brewer and latte beverages for it would be sweet! I also love handmade items like jewelry, notebooks, etc. I would also love instructions for items you may love to make if you have time to include them.
I have a few things I would love to see in my secret elf package. First things I would love are
Gorjuss Girls stamps. Specifically: The Fawn, Simply Gorguss Ruby and Winter wonder.
Stamping Bella: Mo Manning Big Girl Pants, Game on Mo Manning and Jack and Ginger Mo Manning.
I LOVE brads and Prima flowers. I love glittery brads and bright colored flowers. I would love DP pieces, even if you have lots and want to cut me a selection down into 6x6, I would be happy! In fact, feel free and get creative and if you want you could send me a coordinated kit of goodies. I would be in heaven! Items I use a lot of include the brads and primas, but I also love satiny or taffeta ribbons and bakers twine. I love angel mist type glitter sprays and stickles. I also LOVE adhesive pearls and rhinestones. I use punches a lot and have just 2 for edging my paper. (My mind is a blank with trying to remember everything now! Sorry!) I always love having extra supplies such as adhesive and dimensionals on hand as well. The closest supply store is now 45 minutes so not just a run over to stock up mid project. Really, I am not very fussy. I have a few things I don't use much like stickers and buttons so I would rather not get those.
On the twelfth day of The Holidays ,
my Secret Elf sent to me
Twelve (12) Prima Flowers ,
Eleven (11) cups of coffee,
Ten (10) Pearl embellishments,
Nine (9) rhinestone dots,
Eight ( 8 )feet of ribbon,
Seven (7) treats to curb my appetite while stamping,
Six (6) designer paper sheets,
Five (5) GOLDEN glittery items,
Four (4) feet on bakers twine,
Three (3) adhesives,
Two (2) colors of glitter brads,
And One (1) Simply Gorjuss Ruby stamp!
I love scented lotions and little things to pamper myself, as I really don't do that enough, and if you are a reader and have some spare books you no longer want, please feel free to pass them along!
I hope I have provided enough for you to figure out something fun! I am sure you will do great! Thanks in advance Mr, Elf!
