Non smoker here too! One time when I was younger I scratched both of my corneas at the same time. No idea how! It was awful because both were patched and I had to find my way around the kitchen for basic snacks and stuff for the kids. Luckily their dad ordered in for supper, so I didn't have to worry about cooking! lol

On the twelfth day of The Holidays ,
my Secret Elf sent to me
Twelve (12) inches of Grosgrain ribbon,
Eleven (11) packs of hot cocoa,
Ten (10) sheets of black Cardstock,
Nine (9) sheets of cream Cardstock,
Eight ( 8 ) sheets of scrapbooking paper, (new baby, pregnancy, red, white & blue patterns) ,
Seven (7)sheets of acetate ,
Six (6) mini bottles of hand sanitizer (from dollar store) ,
Five (5) GOLDEN packs of baby wipe refills (from the dollar store),
Four (4) Bags of Candy (2 bags of Pixie Sticks, 1 bag of Peppermint Patties, 1 bag of Smarties)
Three (3) Snail Adhesive Tape Refills,
Two (2) containers of embossing powder (white, silver, gold, or black),
And One (1) Clear Mount Birthday Stamp Set by Stampin Up! (any set)!

also I am not picky at all, but would love to have anything I can use to sell at craft fairs...for example, I asked for mini bottles of hand sanitizer and hot cocoa so that I could put them in little treat holders to sell during the holidays at craft fairs. Same thing with the candies, they are for craft fair items. I certainly dont expect everything on the list...anything you send is appreciated. Thank you in advance...

Dear Secret Elf,

This has been a truly interesting year for me both personally and in the craft world. Personally, I have gone through many trials and tribulations with trying to start a family with my husband, but I know the new year will bring joy! I also am in my second year of teaching Kindergarten which has been super fun! Crafting-ly, I have gotten very into Stampin' Up products and their quality. I have not become a demonstrator yet, but am considering it in the coming new year. I love their products and am OBSESSED with their paper and ribbon! You will find a lot of Stampin' Up products on my list along with products from Lawn Fawn, Papertrey Ink, and Paper Smooches.

I LOVE cutesy stuff, animals, bright colors, gems, and buttons! I also read the thing about what is called "color bursts" within the thread (I think it was in post #100) and think that's amazing!! I like color coordination and do not mind open packages!
I DO NOT really like pastels or stickers (I have soooo many).
I LOVE big cities, sports, cooking and baking! Any new recipes are encouraged.
I DO NOT like the smell of vanilla, taste of mint, or spicy items.

Now on to my specific list...I tried to link as many items to their online counterpart as best as possible. It also gives an idea to the kind of style I have...all of the items can be used as jumping off points.

On the twelfth day of The Holidays ,
my Secret Elf sent to me

Twelve (12) Neutral Designer Buttons from Stampin' Up and buttons in general

Eleven (11) Lawn Fawn Stamps and Dies like Lucky Stars, Sunny Skies, Many Thanks, Critters in the Forest-Lawn Cuts, Sunny Skies-Lawn Cuts, and Winter Sparrows-Lawn Cuts or any cutesy animals and sayings

Ten (10) Fancy Papers like 2013-2015 In Color, Eastern Elegance, Natural Composition, Quatrefancy, This and That Epic Day, Subtles, Regals, Neutrals, Brights, and Polka Dot Parade or any fancy papers in any size.

Nine (9) Naturals Designer Buttons from Stampin' Up or just beautiful buttons and gems

Eight ( 8 ) Stampin' Up Write Markers in Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Crushed Curry, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Smoky Slate, Soft Sky, and Wisteria Wonder or an AQUA BLENDER PEN

Seven (7) kinds of grosgrain ribbon from Stampin' Up (any of the colors are perfect!) or American Crafts ribbon

Six (6) kinds of Chevron Ribbon from Stampin' Up (any of the colors are lovely!) or chevron ANYTHING!!!

Five (5) GOLDEN Chocolates! (maybe peanut butter and chocolate?) I love chocolate and chocolate with fruit!

Four (4) Papertrey Ink stamps like Mighty Oak, Polka Dot Parade #6, Inside & Out: Birthday II, and Live Love Life

Three (3) Paper Smooches Stamps like Birthday Buddies, Cosmos, and A Little Lovin'

Two (2) Flower-related items like Flower Shop and Pansy Punch from Stampin' Up or any flower related items

And One (1) Label Set from Stampin' Up like Label Love and the Artisan Label Punch

Thank you in advance for your thoughtfulness and crafty love during the holiday season! I hope your Secret Elf is good to you and I can't wait to shower mine with happiness this holiday season!

Yes, you are all hired!

If you didn't see this thread is closing for sign-ups at 11:59 PM on Wednesday of this week. If you're Secret Elf letter isn't posted, I will not include you in the swap. Any changes to your Secret Elf letter should be made by that time. Once I start assigning Secret Elves please don't add/subtract from your letters. Several of us upon receiving our person to "spoil" immediately print out their requests and never take a look at it again.

Now, for the touchy subject - the Secret Elf letters. Please do not go over the top on your requests. If you list one item at the $25 requirement, that is just 1 out of 12 of the gifts you are to receive. Think .... have you made it easy for your Secret Elf, if they should choose, to stay with the $25 spending requirement to put together a nice package of 12 individual wrapped gifts? Many are stretched during this time with school starting and holiday spending. If your letter needs revising, be sure to do it before names are assigned.

And, last, for those that have not joined my SS swaps, if there is someone you would like or not like due to various reasons, send me a PM and I will do my best to accommodate you.

What is your favorite holiday color?

Dear Secret Elf:
If I had to sum up the year in just one word, it would be change. Thankfully, most of them have been positive changes this year! I did have to relocate my craft room from the basement to upstairs, which means I am going through a major downsizing. So, if you have any great organizational items or ideas, pass em on!

Items I would enjoy are: (In no particular order)

12. SU cardstock in choc. chip, black, white, any of the newer colors.
11. SU Dimensionals
10. Tape Runners
9. Love K-Cup Coffee...blends (like Columbian) not flavored.
8. Coffee Travel Mug
7. A handmade item by you for my country blue craft room
6. Stamped Images. on Copic Paper..love flowers
5. Bubble Mailers
4. Citrus or Fresh Linen Scents
3. Beaded Christmas Bracelet
2. Love Skor, Snickers, Reese....anything CHOCLATE!!
1. "TO DO" Notecards

I am not picky and am sure I will enjoy whatever you come up with. Most importantly, have fun

Dear Secret Elf

I know that you're probably pretty busy this time of the year so first I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read my letter! I'm a semi-retired (qualified for social security this year) but do have a part time job. I enjoy getting out of the house several nights a week and having a little extra money. I'm married and my husband is fully retired. Unfortunately he has a lot of health issues that prevent him from working but we are dealing with it. I guess I should get to the part that I tell you what I'd like. That's really hard for me because I don't want to appear like I'm taking you for granted. I'll list what I like (in no particular order) and don't expect that you'd be able to get me everything but will have lots of ideas.

1. I can ALWAYS use adhesives. I use Tombo Mono Adhesive and buy the three pack refills when I have a good coupon. I also like having red line tape around and liquid glues from time to time. I've even been known to use glue sticks (acid free).

2. I LOVE embossing folders. I wouldn't necessarily need to get folders themselves but some embossed cardstock. If you'd be so inclined - I have none of the new folders added to the 2013-2014 SU catalog.

3. I could always use double sided cardstock (either in a pack or cut from 12x12 sheets to 6x6). I'm more into geometrics or patterns than florals.

4. SU Ink refill(s) would be nice. Any of the colors new this year (not the in colors - the new colors that they added this year).

5. Stamped images are always nice. Copic friendly ink on copic friendly 1/4 sheets. It's fun to see what types of images others like.

6. I'm big on bling!

7. I don't use ribbon a lot but could always use more (did I tell you I'm a crafting hoarder?).

8. I love flavored coffee. Those little grocery store one pot packs are nice.

9. I love chocolate (especially dark chocolate). Pretty darn fond of chocolate twizzlers and Hot Tamale's.

10. Dog Treats for Muz would be nice!

11. Catnip or catnip toy for Taz.

12. Last of all, SURPRISE ME!

Thank you so much!

P.S. PLEASE don't send me clear acrylic stamps, flat stickers, or brads. I just either don't use them or have more than I need!

We went to St. Cloud Joan. I needed a new black Stazon pad, so got that. I also got one bottle of Tim Holtz stain. Gotta revise my wish list so that it reflects that. I bought a $1.50 rubber stamp that says Oct. 31 and a plastic paint thingy that has has 6 little cups for when I use my SU markers and a blender pen.

Dear Secret Elf,

Like most I know, this year has been a rough ride.

I'm actually excited for 2014 New beginning, new start with a fresh year.

So I've made a list from which you can surprise me with.

I believe and like to recycle things. If there is anything on my list you would like to pass on I'm very open to it.

Bakers twine

I have tons of stamps but nothing really new from lines I'm not able to get up here or haven't gotten myself yet.

Stamp list: Saturated Canary ANY
Sparkle Creation Stamps-Charlotte or Emily (any)
Mature masculine themed stamps.
Little Miss Muffet-The smell of roses stamp.
Deep Red Stamps-any

Viva Décor Inka Gold -- Old silver

Embossing Folders- Tim Holtz -Pocket Watches Steampunk, Distress frame & postal, Dot matrix gridlock, Bingo & patchwork.

Tim Holtz distress paints- don't have any

Extra fine detail embossing powder, - Black or white or gold

Studio Calico Wood, or Other brands Veneer shapes
Graphic 45 - anything
Basic Grey Magnets, any size
Stampin' Up craft knife blades.
Vellum - White or Ivory
Express it copic paper (even if it’s from your personal stash)
CHARMS! I'm addicted to charms! I use them for altered items and cards.
Inkssentails- round jumbo daubers
Copic Markers, colors I don't have-YR27, R56, RV52, V22, V28
Silhouette Cameo Fabric Blade
I love all things alterable including embellishments.
I love the look of antique, vintage, steampunk, and shabby chic

I love anything milk chocolate, dark chocolate truffles. Not a fan of mints or anything minty.

Herbal teasssss, love the relaxation of teas. There are so many flavors I can't pick a favorite so choose one for me *Grin*

Flavored coffees, except for vanilla.

Bath and Body products and I'm not sensitive to scents or textures. I do like body scrubs, body sprays even room relaxation sprays. I love the smell of cocoa butter, shea butter, cinnamon etc.. lol buttery

I'm a very comfy, cozy, pampering type of person and love the look and feel of flannel and fleece

My favorite color is blue, turquoise blues, ocean blues, relaxing colors.
My Birthday is in May so I'm a spring baby and love the smell of rain in the spring

I have a Mali Uromastix lizard Named Prada actually it's my DH's.. LOL Long story, but I ended up falling in love with her when I saw she had a personality.. Weird right.. Thank the lord she's a vegetarian.. hahha
I'm allergic to anything furry .. booo... I had a dog once

I love the outdoors and even go fishing with DH, love being on a boat.

One other thing I do like... perfume samples from department stores when they try to sell you the full bottle. lol... I can put them in my purse for those moments when you forget to put something sweet on, or use them diluted as a room spray even put some on a cotton ball to scent the kitchen, closets and drawers.

Make me a surprise

I have lots of brads ( but do like the Basic Grey and button type brads)
I don't use fibers, don't need ribbon
NO ACRYLIC stamps please... I have too many and don't use them as often. *shame* lol
I think that's about it.

Remember I love to recycle as long as it's usable and things from your stash.

Well, here it is SS Elf.

I hope I didn’t overwhelm you. I know I was overwhelmed from trying to figure out how to write the letter *sigh* but I managed I think *wink*

Thank you in advance for being my SS Elf

Hey ladies!
Didn't get to my stamp room today as planned. No mojo. Lord know I have plenty to do since I have barely started my Christmas cards! Did I mention I am in the Christmas Challenge and am failing miserably? Going to work a half day tomorrow. We have a Fall Gathering at church of the women of our conference so that should be fun.
Have a good Monday, if you can!

<--Favorite Holiday colors; Blue, silver, cherry red! (less traditional more whimsical) I always seem to buy Christmas wrap with blue in it?! Or funny cute instead of the fancy foil style...But then again, 3 kids and wrapping--I am a machine on Christmas eve!!!! I even wrap for my neighbors kids one year (86 presents for them...and we're talking huge boxes and odd shapes too)...She hides her goodies in my basement-to this day they are young kids--they don't know this!...Most years my basement looks like a Christmas warehouse with their stuff down here--bikes, foosball tables..you name it--I have wrapped it!

Best hiding place so your kids cannot find their gifts....I used an old huge-luggage boxes in the corner of the basement--too high for them to peer in--wrapped and kept a separate list of who got what...they kept looking and wondering-checking under beds--they never saw me come in with bags--it was so cute! My youngest even said, "Mom don't you need to start shopping for Christmas?"...awe he was so worried!!! hahahahaha

I decorate the main floor of our house in pretty traditional colours. Green, gold and lots of natural elements; tree boughs, berries and pine cones. Our basement renovation will be done at the end of the month, so I might decorate it this year. Especially since my office/craft space is down there! The colour scheme is white, beige and blue with hits of silver, so I will probably decorate in white, blue and silver down there.

I don't have any kids, so I don't need to worry about hiding gifts

Hellooooooo Ladies!

How goes it? How was your weekend?

Susanne - Reallly? 86 for the neighbors? I detest wrapping gifts and always leave it until the last second. Each year I say I will wrap them as I buy them. But now, we don't really exchange much for gifts. I have a very small family and without little kids in the family I lose the spirit. I guess I am a Bah Humbug!

I use to be all about the 10-foot tree with littler ones placed in various places throughout the house. All then were done in blue, white and silver with a Snowman/snowflake theme.
Last year we did the real tree - not again.
This year if we put up a tree it will the the four-footers. I have an entire room downstairs that is basically Christmas storage. It is suppose to be a bedroom. My plan is to go through it and either save it for a huge rummage sale, the flea market, or Goodwill. The question now will be... Do I want to move this to Florida? If not, it will go someplace. I think I will send it all to Rosie's husband, Tim. (Now, this will be a check on Rosie to see if she actually reads this post or not).
Since the trees are smaller I am now into Gingerbread but would love to do one with more vintage ornaments. I am all over the place when it comes to decorating.
Plus I lost my fireplace mantle to a big screen TV.
We celebrate Christmas Day with my Mom. And I will only have my daughter home for Christmas. My son usually spends the month of December in Aruba for business and vacation. He could care less about Christmas.

For years, I hosted a Cookie Exchange, always the first Saturday of December with a brunch, games, prizes, and ... the cookies. I haven't done that since becoming "disabled" and homebound. Now.. that I miss!

Do you have a treasured ornament that always make it out for your holiday decorating?

Hello everyone!
I have the afternoon off because we have a Fall Gathering at church today. It is for the women of our conference. I am going in a hour. Gotta fill cups of peanuts and candy corn- 125 of them. Then I am helping at registration and our choir is singing a couple of songs.
Joan, Florida? Are you leaving our wonderful state?
I have an angel ornament my grandma gave me. Part of it is broken so I don't put it out anymore, but I still kept it. I also have a nativity scene ornament from a Sunday School teacher when I was in grade school.
This will be the first Christmas without my mom so it is going to be a tough one.
Have a good afternoon all!

Joan..YES 86 presents for two very spoiled boys! They are good kids but I think mom goes a bit OVER board---plus, her parents/his parents and brothers will give her money to buy stuff--the the trampoline was from Uncle X...the arcade games were all from different relatives and each of them get the whole lot of balls; football, soccer etc...every other year one of them gets a NEW bike! (We got hand-me-downs at our house growin' up!) Anyway, I keep telling her to have them start a bank acct for college/new house/something REAL for the future!

We always do a real tree--love the smell---we make sure to get soft pines tho--no sharp or stiff ones? If that makes sense! We have all the kids ornaments that they made in pre-K through grade school--I try and buy a few new ones every year---I tried to keep up the tradition of 1 new ornament for each kid so when they have their own trees...they take em with em! But, now I just pick up a significant one if I see it ; MMA, college team ornaments...funny ornaments!

We usually go to Ottawa for Christmas, so we put up our artificial tree. Last year, however, we stayed here with my parents and got a real tree. It was awesome! We went to the tree farm, picked one out and cut it down ourselves. They have a little Christmas village set up, so after cutting down our tree, we enjoyed cookies and hot chocolate by the campfire! We got a soft needle one that lasted forever and didn't shed it's needles. So, even though we are going to Ottawa this year, we will definitely be getting a real tree!

We decorate our tree with ornaments that both my husband and I have collected over the years. Most of them are gifts from friends and family and former students, but we also have a large number of vintage ones from my husband's grandmother. Our tree is definitely not one of those designer, perfectly coordinated trees!

Howdy all. My favorite Christmas colors are red, white and silver....sparkle and candle light. When we were little my folks got me and my brother an ornament every year....so when I decorate the tree there are tons of memories. I have a beaded snowflake that my great grandmother made that is most special. The one that makes me laugh the most...actually it is the dog's....it is a Scooby Doo ornament that says "we wish you a merry christmas" in Scooby's voice and it sounds a lot like Loki when she talks. The sillest one is a stuffed armadillo (it was my ex's and I smile everytime I hang it on the tree). Hope everyone has a great week. Nikki

Dear Secret Elf,
I work full time as a Chemistry teacher & have a 4 year old daughter & a 6 year old son. I love being a mom and enjoy every minute with my kids. I love to scrapbook (12x12) & stamp cards. I just wish I had more time to craft!

I would love any of the following things in my stocking: Tombow liquid glue (multi adhesive green lid), Creative Memories tape runner refills (current style), Tombow permanent refills, 12x12 Creative Memories albums or refill pages or page protectors (no other brands please, only have CM albums, unless someone has a 12x12 Stampin Up 3 ring album they'd like to pass on Martha Stewart drippy goo border punch or fence border punch (even gently used), stazon black, brown, red, orange, blue refills (have the ink pads already), SU Chevron or Alphabet press embossing folders, SU fashionable hearts embosslits, SU Pansy Punch, cute 3D "school" embellishments (no stickers please), SU Candy dots & brad bases, SU delicate details washi tape, tiny mini clothes pins (1" size or less), any magnolia stamps (used is fine, I have the graduation one, that's it). 12x12 scrapbooking kits or page kits or pre-made pages.

Chocolate (milk) is a favorite treat, along with Heath bars & twix. I love flavored coffee, chocolate macadamia nut is one of my favorites. I also have a Keurig machine.

I do not need any more embossing powder, glitter, ribbon, bakers twine, buttons, stickers, brads or eyelets, I have TONS.

I have always had only one tree until last year. A friend told me she had two. Then I went and bought another! Ugh! The second one is in my office. The first has all sorts of ornaments from boughten to homemade. The new one has blue and silver if I remember correctly.
Have a good Tuesday!
P.S. I still enjoy reading all your posts! Okay, don't get them all read, but I try.

Someone earlier had written, maybe Joan, that she didn't enjoy wrapping presents. That is something I have always enjoyed! For several years, I used to watch "It's a Wonderful Life" while wrapping them. Haven't done that lately because I love that movie and found out I was missing things if I watched while wrapping.
