I feel like the Progresso commercials where the women call to say their little black dress fits after eating Progresso soups.

I was very comfortable in my jeans at the party. I didn't eat any lasagna that was dripping with cheese, tho I did have a small piece of birthday cake. Otherwise, I've been pretty good today. I slipped a little at my DH's company Christmas party last night, but not too, too badly.

I hope everyone has a great week,

I know this unrest hinders my weight loss too and adds to stress, decreased energy levels, focus problems, etc. So I'm wondering who else has this problem and how they deal with it too.
Susan,

I am definitely a member of this club! I can't blame menpause, I had a total hysterectomy six years ago. I think my problem has a lot to do with 20 years of back pain. I tend to sleep in one position without moving much anymore, so that when I do finally move, it hurts. I have the same problem when I go for a massage...my massage therapist wants to do a total massage, but I get so stiff laying on one side, that when it comes to turning over, I can't. I'm so stiff after about a half hour on one side, that I can't turn over without fear of falling off.

So every morning, I'm up between 5 and 6am, up for 2-3 hours, then go back to sleep and sleep til noon (I don't work). But I get mad at myself for sleeping so late and missing half the day. If I have a morning appointment, it's about 70/30% whether I'll make it or not. I missed two today because I woke up sore and grumpy with a nasty Sjogren's headache. I wasn't going anywhere. After my husband went to work at 2pm, I went back to sleep til 5pm. What a wasted day!

I do understand what you're talking about!

How is everyone doing today? It is cold here, it was supposed to be warm. I have a few minutes before my little one gets home, I am hitting the treadmill

It was a beautiful warm day here today and I missed it. Inside at the office all day. Getting dark already before I even get to leave...

We had a beautiful day here. My DH invited me to play golf with him and 2 of his buddies. We had a great time and are headed out to dinner with them shortly. Tomorrow I will visit an aunt in the nursing home and my brother who is recovering from bypass surgery. He is only 54. Man that hits close to home

We were in the mid-60's today...I can't believe it's December and we're having this warm weather. I should have gone out walking but instead I procrastinated all day.

My new BFF (my treadmill) and I got together for our first date in several years. I'm not real fond of my new BFF right this minute, she nags me to visit her all day and she makes me feel guilty that I spend time doing more idle things...like stamping. But, I promised I would spend time with her every day so today was Day 1. Hopefully in a week or so the kinks in our relationship will have worked themselves out and I won't mind spending time with her...maybe the day will come when I actually look forward to it!

UGH! That's perimenopause?? It has been making me crazy since about March. I have decided for me, if I haven't gotten back to sleep in about a half hour, I get up. I go to my craft room and put in a dvd and do some mindless organizing (winding floss, sorting buttons) or make a cup of hot chocolate and read for about an hour, then I am able to go back to sleep. If I don't get up, I end up tossing and turning until just before the alarm goes off.

It's shaping up to be a good week for weightloss as I've been really good on counting points. Also since I'm nearly starting from scratch again, the water weight drops kind of fast the first week or two. Hey..it all has to come off eventually! I made a list last night of rewards as I make progress on this journey. I have 45 lbs to lose so I broke it down by 10 lbs and then my final goal. Have you all set mini goals with a reward?

Here's my list....

10lbs Pedicure
20lbs Get to pull smaller sizes out of storage tubs. Getting hair
professionally colored (I do my own normally)
30lbs Massage and full body salt scrub
40lbs Wear that formal gown. Pull more clothes out of storage. Buying ALL
new undergarments.
45lbs GOAL! Buy a sequined pencil skirt that I've been pining for and my
husband has to take me to the Cities to go dancing!

JCI...hope you all have a lovely day!

Yesterday I tracked everything and went to the gym! It felt good to keep myself in check all day. I've been so far off track lately. Today is a new day!

Rachel,
I love it! I got myself some gifts too! I bought a purse at 25 pounds so whenever I use it, I smile! I bought myself a bead for my pandora bracelet at 50. I didn't get a big gift when I hit goal, I probably should have!

Pia- don't forget maintainance rewards! I really am being serious, though. I fully intend to celebrate my permanent weightloss similarily as people who celebrate sobriety! I don't ever want to be back where I am now so when I hit 1 month of staying at goal, then 6 months, then a year...those will be momentous occasions just like the orginial weightloss.

I really tired to think of rewards for myself that weren't terribly expensive and that would celebrate the new me. It was a fun list to come up with.

THAT'S GREAT, ROXIE!!

Good for you. I bet you're going to feel absolutely wonderful when you wear that dress to the party! I went to my husband's Christmas party a week ago and had a hard time figuring out what to wear...all of my black pants were too big!! I wore the beaded tunic I wore to my son's wedding a little over a year ago. It was much roomier now than it was then (I was lucky I squeezed in it that day!). But there was no way I could wear the pants, when I pulled them on, they came up over my bra, and fell down when I let go. I thought I'd found a pair that fit, but I spent a good part of the night pulling them up when they'd start to slip down. It felt great! And even better than big pants, after the party, we stopped by my DS and DIL and spent two hours playing with our grand kids!

They were just here for dinner and it was really, really nice to have them here again. It's the first time they've been here since before the baby was born in May. My grandson was afraid the toys wouldn't be here anymore, but I promised him when I saw him last week that they'd be right where he left them, and they were. We had a great time.

I haven't made it to WW for two weeks because of car issues, but my scale says I've lost 3lbs. Of course, that was before my husband made pumpkin cake last night and then took me out for breakfast this morning!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend,
Tracy

Default awesome meal ideas for WW

I realized this weekend that for quite some time I've been catering to my children's wishlist of meals and choosing what is always easiest to the detriment of my own diet needs. My kids really are good eaters but we need to expand our meal options for supper. I only had 7 points left for supper so I did a search and found this awesome blog geared to WW followers. Laa Loosh has so many great recipes searchable by ingredient, cuisine or points value. I had the 5pt mustard maple chicken tonight. Added steamed broccoli and a baked potato and stayed within points. Yeah!

Hope everyone's weekend went well and that we're all on-track for a great week!

Morning all. Rachel thanks for the link to the blog. There's some really great recipes there and I love that points included. I saw a very tasty French onion casserole I intend to try and a recipe for tarragon chicken made in the crockpot. Hope we all have a very blessed day.

Hi Ladies,

I fell WAYYYYY off the wagon today. I feel like I've been running on a hamster wheel for the past week running here and there, they eye doctor ($357 for new glasses WITH insurance, I almost passed out!), the pain doctor, Christmas shopping, and on and on and on, and getting absolutely no where. I had to run to Scranton, PA today, about 40 minutes away, to get my morphine pump filled (it's for managing the pain in my back), then back to Wilkes-Barre to run into Michael's for just a few things that somehow ended up costing almost $30 (it's amazing how that happens, isn't it), then back in the car to the massage therapist. We trade services, she does my massage and I do her marketing, and today she was in the mood to talk. Normally not a problem, but I still had to get to AC Moore and KMart and home before my husband had to go to work at 2pm. Didn't make it, so I ended up taking him to work then I still had running around to do, so I went into McDonald's (because I also needed to use the little girl's room by now!). I caved and got a hamburger and fires. I didn't eat all the fries, but I ate some. So, tonight it's back to Lean Cuisine and fruit!

I still have a ton of sewing to do for Christmas, a little bit of shopping and I'm volunteering at a local senior center tomorrow to make cards for wounded soldiers (which I read about here on SCS). So, I may not be around much the next 2 weeks. My husband hasn't had a full week of work since the week of Thanksgiving and dragged his heels about applying for unemployment, so I've had to really stretch out what little shopping I've done. My kids are kind of in the same boat, so we're doing limited shopping this year, but I still want something for everyone under the tree. I'm concentrating most on my grandchildren. It will be so nice to actually be able to see them this year. Last year, my DIL would not let us see our grandson. Thank God, things are MUCH better this year!

If I don't get back til after Christmas, I hope you all have a Blessed and Merry Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza or whatever holiday you celebrate!

Checking in and praying you are all having a blessed month so far, and able to celebrate Christmas with loved ones.

Its been a very trying week for me... good thing I don't drink alcohol or do drugs... they'd have taken me out this week. In any case, I have a major major thing happening on Friday and am asking for your prayers for that day, and to keep me going and focused through that.

Thank you!

I've been faithful about getting on the treadmill every morning and every night for the past couple weeks so I thought I'd have a big weight loss this week. My clothes are almost embarrassingly baggy since I started exercising but my weight only went down 1 lb.

My new beau has gone to Honduras for 2 weeks of diving so it'll be the first time we haven't seen each other for any period of time. I'm hoping my weight loss will be noticeable to him when he returns! We've been going out to eat for either lunch or dinner every night, it'll be kind of nice not going out to eat for a few weeks...hopefully fixing my own food will make dieting a little easier.

My scale says I'm down two more pounds! I think it has to be from all the running around and NOT my eating. Still haven't made it to WW.

Susan- you're in my prayers and I hope yesterday turned out ok.

Have a wonderful week, everyone!

I got you covered Susan, we all do! Prayers are heading your way, if I lived closer, I would hug you too, and I am not a hugger!

JCI...I need to catch up some here. It's busy in this house as I'm sure it is in many of yours. I did manage to drop 2.2 lbs. at my last WI. However with all the baking I have not been as good this week. tomorrow we will see.

Have a great day!
