I was successfully able to cut grungeboard with a Sweetcuts die today. I checked in for advise first, which said die cuts are too thin, but decided to give it a go anyway..... I used my Big Shot...

I like using a 'coated' cardstock for brayering and sponging- the color moves on top of the coating and blends nicely- instead of soaking in- aka Georgia Pacific. That is why Michelle Z uses Whisper...
