I had the same issue and I contacted Sizzix. They sent me a new screw set and now I keep an eye on it and tighten as needed. I never thought about taping the baggy to the bottom of the machine...

I cut all my dies facing up. I put a small piece of green tape on one plate and marked it with a "C" for cutting. I use that one only for the top. I rotate it to keep from warping.

Also, be sure to have your Sizzlets (thin blade die with foam) facing blade/foam side up. Having them face down can damage them and, make sure your acrylic plates are not warped when cutting dies.

I had a Silhouette and I sold it. I bought the Bosskut Gazelle and I love it. I do a lot of cutting a sandwich of double-sided tape/cardstock/double-sided tape and it cuts like butter.

If your cutting acrylic mats are scratched or marked up this will transfer to your paper. Try to keep at least one mat clean and clear of marks.
