Monochromatic is the word. You can stamp a pattern on a sheet of card stock and cutting the paper in different sizes can make boocoos of cards from that one sheet.

I'm so glad to hear that you use your crayons that way because I do too, except, I dip the point end in water and dab my WC brush on the crayon, then paint! I also make sure my image is wet. It helps...
