After embossing, use an anti-static swiffer type sheet to wipe off any excess powder (make sure your embossing has cooled so you don't smudge it). This also works well with the embossing powders...

I rub my dies over with an unused dryer sheet. You don't need to do it every time and I find it works really well. I found wax paper fiddly and another thing to pull out of all the bits.
