I find it easy, but I am a computer-savvy person. You have to have designed whatever you want it to cut FIRST, then store that on the SD card. From there, I believe you can re-size it and move pieces...

I, too, choose the side I am most likely to use and sort by that color. If I love BOTH sides, and have more than one sheet (I never buy only ONE sheet, haha), then I put one in each section!
