I store mine the same way and it's made it much easier for me to use the scraps first! I also keep my decorative papers sorted by color and I file those folders next to the coordinating solid colors.

I store mine on magnets so they won't get bent or scratched. And I thought maybe the cutting edge would last longer if it wasn't rubbing against the metal of the other dies.

I went to Menard's and bought some pine that was glued together in butcher block fashion. My husband cut it to the size I needed and put two coats of polyurethane on it. It works really well for me.
