I love music so thought, why not host a swap with pages based on lyrics/songs?!
Heads Up: These are not your mild-mannered average pages ... there are more requirements/expectations, and dimensional/depth requirements so please be sure to read them all!
QUANTITY/SIZE: 3+1, 12"x12" SINGLE PAGES
DUE DATE: MUST BE MAILED TO ME NO LATER THAN 9/8/12, and in my hands by 9/15/12. Any received late will be returned unswapped. There is plenty of time so plan and mail early please.
REQUIREMENTS:
Pages that don't meet all requirements will be returned unswapped. Please check before you mail!
EACH PAGE MUST HAVE a MINIMUM of 7 elements, including:
1) TITLE: THIS SHOULD BE YOUR SONG TITLE - May be on a border or not, but should be at least 2"x8" in size and the obvious title/theme.
2) JOURNAL BOX: No smaller than 2"x4" with space to write at least a few sentences.
3-5) 3+ ACCENTS/PAGE CANDY: No smaller than 2"x2"
6-7) 2+ OTHER PIECES: May be lyrics/quotes, add'l borders, scenery pieces, photo boxes/frames, more accents, etc.
Embellishments by themselves (i.e. flowers) do NOT count as separate accents/candy unless they are larger than the 2"x2" size.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- ALL elements on the page must have at least two layers, use quality cardstocks/DSPs.
- ALL pieces must be embellished or dimensional in some way -- this may include embossing, glitter/glitter cardstock, embellishments, photo corners, ribbons, 3D layering with pops, etc.
- NO Handwriting please. Use stamps, die cut or computer printing for words/writing.
- DO NOT use flat/storebought stickers. These are for original creations.
- POST a picture of your page here on SCS either in your gallery or on the thread so we can all see it.
- You may leave some pieces loose if it will help the recipient to place items/pictures or write on the journal boxes, etc. Even more reason you need to post a pic of your layout so they can see it.
- Package each page separately with your SCS ID on it.
MAILING:
PM me for my address when you are ready to mail. I recommend using DC #s for tracking purposes. Be sure to include a little extra postage in case the return items are a bit heavier, extra will be returned. Please be sure to post when you mail and when you receive. You MUST check in at least a few weeks before the due date to confirm you are still participating.
Let me know which group/category you'd like a spot in. No more than 2 spots per group per person. Keep it positive please and general enough most can use it, nothing offensive/risque please. You can use a title regardless of the lyrics, do not have to include lyrics.
Let me know your song when you figure it out if you can please!
I'll post songs throughout the thread for inspiration, and for prizes too!

Hi Linda -- glad you are joining! What songs do you have in mind? I now have all these various songs going through my head as possibilities! haha Its as if I am just turning a dial on the radio nonstop and getting clips of various songs...
Hey this sounds good. Here are some songs that I'd pick. How about "Happy Birthday to you!" (Stevie Wonder version) and "Backyardigans" for exploration...Whitney Houstons "I Wanna Dance With Somebody!" or "I Will Always Love You" Uhhh, that's four spots huh? Well, can I use one song PER layout??

One song title per spot please.
If we find we get enough swappers in each group, then I may open it to more than one spot per group but that will be later.
Do you want one spot in each group or one in just adults?
Thanks!

Since this is a ways off, yea, I'll take one per spot. I'll do "Backyardigans" (discovery) for the kids and "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" (fun pages) for the adults.

Hi Tiff --
For right now I'm only having each person have one spot in each group until we get more swappers confirmed. Let me know which one you want to do for the Kids group, and if you want a spot in the Other group (non-kids pages).
Hopefully we'll get more commitments, such as more than 6 or so in each group, and then I'll open it up to second spots.
Rachel -- Its basically this:
You use the song title as your Page title and theme.
You make sure you have 7 elements on each page -- a title, a journal box, at least 3 candy, then 2 more items up to you -- and all have to be embellished in a way (whether with embossing, glitter, brads, ribbons, etc. -- stuff that adds dimension/texture).
Needs a title maybe in the upper right area... something like "She's a Lady" or there are lots of other song titles that would work! Layout: Western Lady *Heartfelt Creations*
This one is called Country Girl (Maybe a twist on Thank God I'm a Country Boy), or "I'm a Little Bit Country" but you could go with various similar song titles: Layout: Country Girl
As all these songs go through my head looking at these, including some real golden oldies... I feel like I'm listening (in my head) to a Ronco Music tv commercial...
oooooo, just think how much fun you could have with the song Hot Chocolate from that movie... remember the waiters dancing with steaming hot cocoa cups?
For example: http://www.scrap-of-time.com/images/...late-large.jpg
So many songs.... bring to mind so many ideas....
I could do an entire photo album just on that if not more than one!

Its like a chain that never ends.... I think of one and it reminds me of another... and so on....
Which come to mind for you?
For example, I bet you could do an entire Christmas album even of ones around Christmas songs, in particular those that are not religious ones... but even those would make beautiful pages!
Rudolph
Santa Baby
Santa Claus is Coming to Town
Winter Wonderland
Frosty the Snowman
The Twelve Days of Christmas
etc....
I have a book called Scrapbooking My Faith also that I have wanted to host a series of workshops making pages all about that. And there are so many songs too that would fit with that as well!
You could do one about seasons also. Just think of songs that have to do with that...
Turn Turn Turn (To Everything there is a Season...)
In the Good Ol' Summertime
Winter Wonderland
Over the River and Through the Woods
Hi Jennifer! We're about at 6 now in each group so I would be okay if anyone would like a second spot in each group. Let me know when you figure out which you want!
Sure! I don't know the song myself but the title sounds like a great one.
Just a reminder to all also: You don't have to put the lyrics on the page or use them, its the title that is being used really. If you want to add lyrics as an option or piece, I'd say leave them loose in the sets and that way if they don't fit for the recipient, they can choose to add if wanted.
