Hi monica....
I've been away from your thread for a few days. I'm back. Can you show me some links about poly, I'll also go and reread Susan's poly swap maybe that'll give me some ideas too.
Hugs from WI
Honestly, I just mold (or roll out and cookie cut) and bake when I use poly clay. My molds I buy from Mold Muse
on Etsy
I really like Martha Stewart's Paper Crafter's clay. I forgot, the big box stores carry her silicone molds and they would work with poly clay too. I should break those out and play (and I just bought the TH Utee melting pot that would be fun too). Oh too many crafts and not enough time!
Monica -- Will tag minibooks also work for this, if using the large Tim Holtz tag die for example? They are 3-1/8 by 6-1/4-inch .
I think that will be fine. If anyone has an objection, she can PM me and I'll be sure not to send her a Tag minibook.
I just didn't want someone to send books that were really tiny.
Off to get ready for my Inclusion class. It's all day, so not only do I have to pack a lunch for myself. I have to make sure the family has something to eat for lunch. Dinner will be in the crockpot- Chili.
Have a great day ladies! I probably won't get a chance to check the thread until this evening.
if you had the choice between black chipboard, kraft chipboard or white chipboard...what would be the preferance? I'm trying to decide which to buy...I was leaning towards black myself, well maybe kraft-seem like that would paint better. HELP....what do you all think?
Whatever you choose will be perfect - if you had not mention the choice, we would never have known there was a choice! Besides, I have never seen black chipboard!

ok....well that didnt' help me. LOL I was on ebay and i seen a girl had done chipboard albumes in black and in kraft. with the kraft she had all the paper cut out to the edges...and some pages were painted...if you didn't want to fussy cut the edges...then she had one in black where you just cut the paper like a layer on the inside and left the edges black. it didn't look bad that way...so if you don't like to fussy cut you'd have a nice black boarder...then there's always white, but I think the kraft or black would be funner to work with...but that's just me.

Black does sound like fun. I made a paper bag album with black bags for Michael's and it turned out cute. Like you said you don't have to finish the edges, so it was quick.
Kristyn, I just went to your swap sounds like fun. I love card kits! I keep a couple in my card that I received from swaps with my tin of Prisma pencils. If I have to wait in my car for someone/something I color away!

thanks....I was looking to take the same thing and mix it up a bit....keeps things interesting....now I just need to get enough people in to make it all work out.
Hmmm, I wonder how chalkboard paint works on chipboard...
i don't know...I've never actually painted anything...I've never been fond of chipboard, but this sounds like a fun way to get it a try. LOL...I have several of the TH distressed paints...got them on clearance and haven't ever used them yet.
I got my die cut in the mail today and my chipboard. I like the die better in person than I thought I would. now I need to get my spacer plates trimed down so I can use this die in my cuttlebug. Hopefully it will cut the chipboard without the edges looking yucky...I read the die works with chipboard but you have to run it though a few times....so I'm keeping my figures crossed that this will work.
Kristyn, If you have a problem with your Cuttlebug, you can use my Big Shot if you want, when you come here at Christmas. I'm looking forward to spending some time in my new and improved craft room with you!

LOL-that was my plan B option!! I'm going to try and go to the shop tomorrow and use the grinder to grind off the 1/4 edge on the extended plates I have. I just didn't want to wait that long to get them cut out...that way if this idea totally bombs I can come up with a plan C. But I don't think the machine will make a difference in how it cuts. Just need to get the plates trimmed down...something that's been on my to do list anyway.
I got these all done! the die cut worked just perfect...it cut the chipboard without even having to make serveral passes like the description recommended. so I was super stoked about that! since the cutting of the chipboard when so well I sent ahead and cut the paper down too...this way nobody has to fussy cut the edges...anyone who get's my package I included all of my "scrap" paper...this way if you want to layer anything or do a boarder or something you have the extra paper. I really hope everyone likes the kits....they were fun to put together...I didn't do a specfic theme like christmas...I just went with a color theme...one kit is a rose color, one is yellow and another is teal...
Found some super cute coasters and matching folders at Office Max that I plan to use as starters for this swap... this coming weekend I have four days off so can hardly wait to create!
I ordered chipboard and then tried to cut it with the Cricut (even with the deep blade) and it just tore it up, not clean cuts. Any ideas?
I can still make them with the Big Shot and other ideas but jsut wondering if anyone has tips on the Cricut for that...
Susan, is your mat sticky? One night at Mike's I was demonstrating the Cricut E2, someone wanted to see it cut glitter paper. I changed the blade and the paper was tearing and then I got a new mat (off the shelf) and it cut beautifully. Maybe if you sprayed your mat with adhesive spray (or used 2-way to restick) you may have better luck.
I sent my kits today in the mail but in order to save on shipping costs I sent each set seperately. So you will be receiving two packages from me but only one will have the return postage(moneys) Sorry to have to do it this way but it is alot cheaper!

Wow, you're fast!! No problem with the separate shipping, I understand. I'm all for saving $$ when you can. I'll let you know when they arrive. Thanks for the heads up. Off to get ready for my class (just 2 more to go).
