Happy Memorial Day! Hope you all are having a wonderful and safe holiday.
Today we begin the first challenge in a series of seven about color. These challenges are inspired by an article in the May 2009 issue of Creating Keepsakes entitled "Color by Theme" by Megan Hoeppner. :
Quote:
Creating with color does more than make your pages shine - it helps set a tone and enhance a specific mood. While you can stick with tried-and-true colors for scrapping a particular theme (such as yellow for summer or pink for a baby girl), don't overlook the less common color-theme combinations. Not only will they stretch your creative thinking, but they'll also give you surprisingly fresh and fun page results.
Your Challenge:
MORE REASONS FOR RED Don't limit your red pages to Christmas, Valentine's Day and the 4th of July. Consider using red for any of the following themes:
-an outdoor adventure (accompany Mother Nature's palette with this lively shade)
-a romantic moment (red and romance go together like roses and chocolates)
-school days (envision a red delicious page to match those yummy apples atop the teacher's desk)
I want you to use Red as your main color this week on your pages. You can try one of the suggested themes or come up with your own as long as the page is not about the obvious choices for red (Christmas, Valentines Day and the 4th of July). Notice I did not mention Memorial Day which I think would be an excellent theme for red. The idea is to think outside the "color" box.
Color is such a huge part of our creative process as scrapbookers and I promised you at the beginning of 2009 that I would get you out of your comfort zone. So for the next 7 weeks I will be stretching your "color muscles".
Here is one tip I found in this same issue of Creating Keepsakes that I think will help all of us with this challenge:
Don't try to match the photos to the colors- chances are, the photos will look fine with the color scheme.
Here is a sample page that fits the "school days" theme: Kindergarten
Now it's your turn! Please use the keywords IFC40 for all layouts submitted for this challenge. Be sure to come back to this thread and post a reply with a link to your challenge page so we can leave you some feedback.

Hello and welcome to the Inspiration Found Challenge. Glad you found us an joined in on the fun. This was one of the most beautiful pet pages I've ever seen. Thanks for playing.
Here is pictures of the project that the boys and I made last week before we left for New England. I laid them out in a scrapbook page and uploaded them that way for Jenn's IFC: "Red" Challenge. Also just to note that the poem is my own original work, so please don't copy it for anything but personal used.
