Just checking in because I loaded 5 more pages...I'm doing catch up and current, trying to get these pages done and printed with Stampin' Up!'s print discount this month! Consequently these are pretty quick, basic pages. But they're done!!

Here's a page I did for Cheryl's challenge to make a title that's Super Sized. Mine's pretty big and I thought it qualified:

Doggone Awesome

I can't hardly believe it, but I'm up to 86 pages for the year. Here's my three latest layouts:

Hearst Castle

Hearst Castle 2 (once again, I'm getting a 5x7 printed for one photo)

Swimming at the Lake

Yipee!!!! I am unemployed.... and finally back to being a stay-at-home mom. The only difference this time is that my nest is somewhat very empty being that only two boys left at home and the youngest being a very independent 18 year old. So I view myself as a stay-at-home wife that is very excited at the idea of becoming a grandma in February!

I am in the process of moving my Stampin' Up! Demo status from paper-aholic hobbist to full time cruise winning craft buster. And I plan on spending a whole lot more time here bugging all of you...

Also wondering if anyone is interested in some new holiday food/scrapping challenges from the pantry like we use to do. For those of you who are new and or not sure what I am referring too. These challenges where all about food, recipes and scrapping. Once a week I would post a challenge recipe.... It would include the food recipe, picture of finished recipe and then a scrapbook challenge to go along with the recipe. Then we played, scrapped and swapped stories about how the recipe turned out both in and out of the kitchen. I was thinking this might be a fun way to add a little extra holiday cheer...!

What do you all think?

Welcome back to the land of the ever busy but unemployed Annie. I am always up for a challenge. I don't always get one completed though.

Glad you will be here full time! I love challenges, but like Sharon, don't always get them done!

Fun news for you, Anavon! Good luck wishes for turning your SU demo status to full-time! I know you'll do great!

I haven't been the best at getting challenges done lately, but your challenges have always been fun!

Default Found photos!

Hey Ladies! Happy American Thanksgiving to you... it's soon here! All the recipes being featured on the tv shows have me craving turkey and stuffing!!!

We have recently had a flood in our basement (my craft room lives there) and in the process of removing all the "stuff" out of the basement I have found (far too many) boxes of miscellaneous stuff that were a mix of, say, light bulb, measuring cup, packages of photos, every congrats card we received from baby shower 15 years ago, etc. What a modge podge time capsule!

And now... the photos. 1000s of photos. Not joking. Random, undated, so many of them!

I have sorted through 11 boxes of 'randoms' so far and my solution is to put the packages of pics (together with the other photos found in that box) into a hanging file/crate system. When I scrap them I'm going to just go fast and furious and keep them together as a group as a snapshot of life in that moment, rather than stress over figuring out exact dates and details... the photo package receipts have a date so that'll be good enough! Oi.

Please tell me I'm not the only person who has found random 1000s of photos like this?!?!?!

Hi Kristin!

How are you feeling? I don't have 'thousands' but I do have hundreds of pics from clearing out my mom's house. My big project is to scan and get books done for my brothers. I think your idea sounds great! I would take the lazier approach and just do slide-in albums with note cards for journaling (if I remembered) . Good luck with your project! Sorry you had a flood though . Hope you're able to join us here more often in the future!

Oh dear, not a flood! Ugh! The new trend of pocket pages is a good idea. I like your idea of grouping your photos by approximate date. Whatever you do is better than having your photos hidden away in boxes!

Nice to "see" you here, Kristin. Hope you pop in more often!!

Oh Kristin, what a lot of photos! Mary Pat has a good idea for taming such a stash of photos. Gather some decent albums and get them view-able at least. For me to scrap that many, well, let's say - not an option. There wouldn't be enough time left in my life because I can take too much time to create one page. I view my scrapbooking as entertainment and dabbling in art. Perhaps if you chose to go with the "slip ins" style you could reserve some with which you create special pages for a special album. Just some ideas. Anyway, hope you have good luck clearing up the flood without too much stress.

I'm with Joyce Ann on how to tame your photos!! Maybe I should listen to Joyce, Mary Pat, and my own advice!! I have boxes of old photos that I will never get scrapped!! Just not enough time in my life, unless I can be like one of our crop group ladies....... she is still scrapping away at 89 and can keep up with her daughter and grand daughter as they scrap too!!

I will have to look for a few of those album while they are on sale this week! Then at least the photos would be viewable.

Just another quick drop in with more pages! I have well-surpassed my monthly and yearly goal and am not done yet! I got another digi page done this weekend and while my husband was on the computer I put together two paper pages!

Week 46
Basketball Game
Birthday Party

And if I don't get back here before Thursday- Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Even if you're not in the United States, there's still so much to be grateful for!

Oh dear, sorry to hear about your basement but at least the 1000s of precious photos were saved even if you never get to scrap any of them! Best of luck on the clean up!

Wow, a lot going on! My goodness, Kristen, glad you were able to save all your photos! I can't imagine loosing all of mine. I have 1000s, to answer your question. I am overwhelmed with DH's family photos, both sides of my family photos. I tried to put them in big manila envelopes by family, but still soooo many. So I just keep trucking along. I need someone to help me organize them better, because everytime I go thru them looking for something, they get disorganized again!

Here is a page I did for VSBN and Stash Buster and Cheryls' sketch on her Blog.
Home School. ( I have seen this both ways one word and two words)

Is anyone else trying to do all the VSBN? I think I have two more for the BAchelors due by Nov 30th. Then I can start working on my '''''''''''''''''''''''masters and Dr.

Just finished this month's progressive page, thanks to Diane Malcor, who hosted. It was so much fun:

Nov 2013 Progr Chall-Task 4-wsb by wendella247 - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

Sharon--I have the same problem with all my photos. Never ending! This morning I started to take a large shoebox full of sorted photos down from a high closet shelf and the whole box spilled all over the place. Ack!!!! Total mess!

Hi chatty ladies!
I'm so sorry about your flood Kristin but glad you didn't lose your photos. I have thousands on my computer that I'm looking into a cloud service to back up. I have an external drive but know those go bad eventually as well. I posted on Facebook for recommendations of Cloud Providers. Anyone here use a cloud (other than iCloud)?.
I love the layouts from Diane's Progressive Challenge this month - they look great! I wish I would've played along.
I'm very excited that I just reached my monthly AND my yearly goal with my last layout!! It's such a great feeling that I kept up with this throughout the year! Next year, I'm setting my goal even higher!! And like Tanya, I plan on printing tons of layouts soon during SU's print sale! Yay! It's so fun to get them in the mail and into my albums!

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! My hubby has bronchitis and now my 11 yo started running a fever last night. ugh! So, we might be here at home instead of celebrating with the rest of our family… but at least we'll be together.

Here are my recent uploads:
1st Ski Trip
Hollywood Studios (which someone pointed out was still called MGM during these photos so I need to go back and change my title!!)
Hot Cocoa Break
Trim the Tree

Off to check out the gallery!

Wink Hello

Wednesday Evening ... almost Thanksgiving!

Tonight I plan to get the work done I need for class so I can Scrap from tomorrow morning until Saturday afternoon. We're headed to MI Saturday and Sunday to see our youngest Unfortunately at 19 and in retail, they said he had to work Thanksgiving and Black Friday ... gasp! ... my first holiday w/o him.

What's everyone doing for Thanksgiving?

It's just 3 of us for tomorrow so we'll have Turkey and Pumpkin Pie while we watch the Lions, LOL

Hi Lela!

I roasted a 5 lb turkey breast and I had sweet potatoes, and DH had mashed potatoes and we had vegies. So had our dinner tonight. Tomorrow we will go over and watch parade with Mom and I will put up her Christmas decorations. I haven't decided when I will do ours. Having company this week-end, so could do it for them, or just not start until after they leave.
We also slaughtered our 18 lb pumpkin and cooked and froze 10 bags of 2 cups each pumpkin. Each bag will make my recipe of either 7 mini loaves of bread or 2 large, or 1 large and three minis. So ready for baking.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We are having Thanksgiving at my house this year. The only ones coming all live within 20 miles. We will eat around noon/1PM tomorrow. I am saving all of my cooking until the morning. My mom is doing the baking and my DIL is doing the ham and vegetables, I'm doing potatoes, salad, brown rice, and spinach for the little ones. Yea I know, they won't eat vegetable casseroles but they will eat cooked spinach.
I won't have time to computer and probable no scrapping but I may check out a black Friday sale on line late Thursday!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am cooking, in-laws will be here for noon meal but most likely all be gone by 3. I think I will skip Black Friday deals & plan to scrap & decorate for Christmas this weekend.

Happy Thanksgiving! It's fun to see what everyone is doing today. I am cooking a turkey. One of our traditional dishes is acorn squash with home made cranberry/orange relish - that's always a must. DD picked up a sweet potato pie at Publix yesterday instead of baking a pumpkin pie. She will make a pumpkin cheese cake though.
I love spinach Sharon, but today I will have it fresh with tomato and feta cheese.
It's only the two of us, first time I haven't had people over in a long time. DD and I will enjoy some stamping I'm sure!!
Enjoy everyone!
