Welcome. I love Italian food and the first Godfather movie was one of my favorites. As for Twilight....sure glad you're not making blood soup.

Hi all!
Right now DD and I are sitting in Dunn Bros. in another town waiting for a 2:30 p.m. appointment. I just got done buying fabric to make my very first quilt! It will be a pink and brown baby quilt. I have bought 3 quilting books, several magazines, and watched videos made by Jenny at Missouri Star Quilt Co. on You Tube. So wish me luck ladies!

I decided I need one more spot because I really do like making recipe cards. I will do "Scream" and my recipe will be Beer Cheese Soup. There is a party in the movie where everyone is drinking beer.

I do wish you luck but just want to warn you that quilting is a lot like scrapbooking. You start buying lots of material for future quilts until pretty soon you need a room for quilting stuff.

I have heard that about quilters. LOL I have a stamping room and will be sewing there. Going to be a tight squeeze though. Going to have to put some stamping items away first.

Hi all!
Snow day here today. We have gotten at least a foot of snow since Saturday night. DH and I tried to go to work at 1:30 p.m. thinking it had quit blowing and things would be better. Got half way down our 1/2 mile road and turned around and came back. It was bad. DS just came home from a friend's house and DH had to go and pull him out of a snow drift. Life is just lovely here in MN right now!
Have a good day tomorrow and hope we will have one too!

I thought you were used to that kind of weather. My friend from there says it is like that all the time. That's why she came to the lovely Chicago weather. LOL

Yeah, we are used to it. Just don't like to travel in it. Lots of people complain about the weather and I wonder why they live here. I like winter. I do complain some but complain a lot more about the heat and humidity in the summer! If it hits 80 degrees I start to whine! LOL

Hi all!
Not very nice weather here in MN today. DH and I both came home at 4 p.m. Our road was filled in a lot. If we had stayed until 5 p.m., I don't think we would have gotten home.
Stay safe everyone!

They say it is coming here. So far, however, we haven't had more than. 3 to 4 inches although the forecasts were for much more. I am hoping this will be the same.

This swap intrigues me but I have a question or two before committing just yet. Does the movie just have to make you think of a recipe or does the movie need to be part of the design of the recipe card itself? I know it sounds silly but I am really new to the swap thing. Thanks

In the previous swap I was in...all the recipes had a picture or character from the movie. The three that I have received and mine all have a character
or a picture from the movie. These are easy to get. Just google the movie and usually there are all sorts of pictures. Also if you google the actors or actresses, there are often pictures of them in various roles.
And, of course, if you do a Disney film...just google disney images.

Thumbs up

I told myself that I wasn't going to do another recipe swap - so we all know how THAT goes

This will be a VERY big undertaking but I would like copies of all the recipes posted so far; so, I'm going to sign up for 6 spots. I work at a Blockbuster and my manager and 2 co-workers and I swap recipes all the time, so I thought this would be a neat "Out of the Blue" gift for them.

So here are my contributions:

1. The Quiet Man (my all time favorite movie) - My Nana's Irish Soda Bread
2. Bridget Jones' Diary - Bangers & Mash
3. Castaway - Coconut Shrimp
4. Steel Magnolias - Mint Julep
5. Darby O'Gill & the Little People - Shephard's Pie (family version)
6. The Breakfast Club - Breakfast Pizza

Whew -

It doesn't look like I'm going to get much sleep - it's a good thing DH will be out of town next week

Wow! Thanks for joining. So excited about your movies and recipes. I think a movie recipe book for film fans will be great. Seriously considered asking a couple of people in my family to tell me their 10 favorite films and making them such a gift.

Here is 3 of my 5 cards. each has something from movie and movie reference and recipe of food found in that movie!!!!!!

the movies are FULL of foods!!!!!

the Key lime pie was pie served in restraunt each day! The speggitti sauce is all natural fresh and snow whites pire is apple deep dish.

search the web for the movie site of your chosen movie you will find all kinds trivia, pictures, even recipes!!!! each movie has a website.

I still need to add a title on yellow envelope on Lady & Tramp and the Lime paper is glittered paper (special order from a site that carries a lot of FOOD paper! that was a web search looking for scrapbook paper food!!!!! found loads of great "food" papers
