Default This swap is completed -WW PP Recipe Swap - Round 2 - 6x6 due date 3-15

Round 1 was so much fun that Linda gave me the OK to host a Round 2.

Weightwatchers around the world---Unite and cook to your hearts content!!!! I know that its the holiday season and we're eating a bit too much or too heavy foods but the new year is just around the corner. I was browsing the recipe swap site and realized that on my journey through the weightloss world, I'm in serious need of some healthy, tasty recipes.

It's just a few weeks til Christmas---then the New year and yes--after that resolution time--and truth be told, I don't want to make weight loss another "year" on my resolution list

Think of this as a gift for yourself and family, but also think of this as maybe a gift for the person who is going through the journey too. OR that someone who said he/she will be going to get serious after the holidays...

Anyway just throwing it out and see if anyone is interested in getting some tasty recipes going...Below are a few websites that have some great idea's:
The Slender Kitchen - Delicious Weight Watchers Friendly Recipes
SkinnyWeek.com - Have a Skinny Week!
Ginas Skinny Recipes

Here are the deets:

AMT: 3+1 (the 1 is for my gift recipe book) THIS IS A NEW NUMBER WAS 4+1
SIZE: 6"x6", use at least two layers of quality cardstock and designer papers and at least one embellishment. No hand written recipes. Please put your real name and Splitcoast name on the back. And don't forget that somewhere on the card the Points Plus number is on there. a ? came up about the points value---if you don't have the Points Plus--you can at the end of the recipe--include: Serving size, cal count, carb, fiber, fat and protein amt as well--you know the nutritional values

DATE: due in my hands 3-15-12, late arrivals will be returned to you. Please send the same amount of postage for the return envelope and include 2 additional stamps. Remember the ones you get back might weigh more than what you sent. Please no metered postage. Be sure to place your cards in a ziplock bag to prevent water damage.

Please post regularly so we know you are working on your cards. Life does rear its head every now and then and if you can't complete this swap please let me know. Flakers will be reported.

PM me for the addy when your ready to send.

Jan, so glad to have you with us. You can let me know your recipe whenever you'd like or just surprise us with it, either way is fine. Thanks so much for joining Round 2.

Donna
I was hoping for a round 2. I had tought about checking with Linda on hosting, but with everything with my dad I figured I would wait. If we go for more rounds maybe I will do the fall. My Oldest is getting married in June so the summer will be out.

Jan - I know I was so excited about Round 1 of this swap that there just had to be a 2nd round. I know that March is a long way aways but I wanted everyone to get through the new years and get settled back into some type of routine again. I also didn't want it to go way into tax season. So March it was. I feel pretty certain that there will be additional rounds and I'm sure Linda will be glad to you to host one of them as well.

So glad you joined this round as well.

Wow finally got a chance to get on here...yes Jan the more the merrier...you can go for round 3--that will give everyone a chance for playing the hostess with the mostess!

So my first recipe is the smoothie---i will be making it first before i sign up for more..but i ddid purchase a stamp on ebay that is cute...and i found a recipe for baked pita bread making it pita chips...want to try it out but with the hummus i have it just has my tummy rumbling at the thought of crunching some bread

over the weekend i will be making that and one of the recipes and we have received back...the chicken pot pie soup sounds warm and yummy for this time of year...

I was in the last one and received two of the same cards - was that supposed to happen? Just wondering. Thanks. I haven't decided if I want to be in the next one. I'm trying to do a cookbook of my own and I think I want to concentrate on that over the winter. Thanks.

We'd love to have you in our swap, but I understand if you'd rather not. Still, I hope you decide to join us and get a few new recipes to add to your cookbook. I'm working on one of my fav recipes including pics of the completed dish for a Christmas gift. I have the pics done...hope I get the recipes written out for it and the pages decorated, etc.

Good Morning. I signed back up for WW this week. My hubby has always told me in the past to make the same meals each week and it would be easier to kee track of the points. I am finally going to give this a try. There is a wedding in 7 months that I need to be ready for. Any tips you guys might have will be great.
I have not recieved my swaps. I am hoping they will come today.

Jan, I've kinda hit a bump in my road and fallen off the wagon. I keep hoping I'll hop back on soon. Maybe I just need to wait until after the new years and really hit it hard again, including some exercise as well. Let me know how the same meals each week works out for you. I'm afraid I'd get board of the same 7 dishes over and over again. The WW on line has an option to save a meal so you would just go to your points counter and move it over with 1 click. Or maybe you could do 15 or 20 different meals and that wouldn't be quite so boring. At least tht way you would only eat the same thing 2 times a month. Just a thought...

Linda, I can't wait to see your smoothie recipe. I LOVE smoothies. I'm thinking about a soup recipe - they are pretty point friendly.

I need to get back on the wagon. This time of year is so crazy and stressful. It's too easy not only to fall off, but to jump off the wagon and RUN!!! lol My goal is January to start back up. lol

I think I've fallen off and gotten run over. LOL My new years thing is multi-facited. I'm going to jump back on that wagon and ride it hanging onto both sides. I'm also going to start taking 1 room of my house a month and clear out everything that doesn't belong or we don't need (reduce and organize kind of thing). We have 4 bedrooms, a livingroom, large eat-in kitchen (with more cabinets than I know what to do with other than stuff full of crap and may count as 2 rooms) a screened back porch & 2 storage rooms (which may count as 1) PLUS the attic. So let me see that's 9 plus 1 1/2 bathrooms so 10 months worth of doing around my house. As I write this, it sounds like a plan to me. The issue will be deciding which room will be first.

Well we have finished up the 22nd and starting into the 23rd which means we have 2 shopping days till Christmas Day. If you haven't gotten your goodies purchased by the 24th then you may wind up checking out the truck stops and convenience stores. To be honest with a little imagination you can purchase all kinds of things at those stores. I've looked to see what they carry and you'd be surprised. No I do not frequent those kinds of stores but I did ride an ambulance and we would stop at a few when going back from longer transfers. Check it out sometime.

I hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas. We have been busy for the last 2 days with family (all my children and my grands) here for Christmas Eve Day and my younger daughter even spent the night. This am I got up and went to DD1's house and my 2 year DGD showed me, with zeal, everything that Santa brought her and her 6 month old sister. The younger one could have cared less about it all - just let me sit and play and I'm all good. I've spent the majority of today just vegging.
