Default RETURNED: Down on the Farm

Iím putting together a cookbook for my daughter who is dating a guy who manages a small organic farm. Iím looking for recipes she can use for all the fresh veggies and berries he grows, the eggs from the chickens and the meat from the pigs. Wanna help?

NOTE: There are no "organic" restrictions on the recipes. Anything good that fits the category. I'm just learning the whole "buy local" and "eat real food" thing myself.

The Rules:

These are for 6x6 recipes
Each spot is for 6+1 (the +1 is for me~the hostess).
**(if we have enough swappers you will not get one of your own back)
**(a 12x12 piece of paper makes 4, so use 2 pieces and make one for yourself!)

- the base of the 6x6 recipe needs to be quality cardstock
- there is NVR but must be at least 2 layers
- print your recipe on cardstock, NOT printer paper (do NOT write it by hand)
- Use an embellishment or two if you are feeling inspired
- stamping would be nice BUT is not required
- put your SCS name and your real name on the back of your page

** Make something you are very proud of!

Deadline: April 8, 2013

Please put your recipes in a plastic bag to protect them from the damp weather. Enclose a stamped envelope for return mail purposes. The amount of postage on your SASE should be the same amount that it takes you to mail to me. Please send along 2 extra stamps that will be returned if not used.

I am thinking about this one Terrie, but in my opinion the best way to serve fresh
vegetables is by using your favorite spices on them and roasting them in the oven
on 400 for about 12 minutes. I am giving up computer games for lent so I will have lots of extra time on my hands. Will probably return.

Giving up computer games would be really tough for me. Good luck with that! You will be stronger for having done so.

What you wrote there IS a recipe. Pick your favorite veggie, match it with the spice(s) you like, and write it up!

Oh, they are lovely, Paige. My favorite is the Berries one. Can't say why. Maybe it's the old-fashion feel of the checkered print and buttons.

I hadn't thought of the categories this way but Paige's blog shows her recipes as Salad, Main Course and Dessert. Yours don't have to be that coordinated but it does give one something to think about.

put me down for a wonderful recipe i had made..makes my mouth water...

its in the berry section---but its strawberry/blueberry spinach salad....it had more ingredients but its sooo mouth watering good......OMG i love it!

Okay put me down for another spot---asiago-crusted pork chop

wonderful recipe from cooking light....

and i guess i have to do all of the catagories now don't i?

then i will do frittata primavera for the veggie one...

that should do it....

I am new at this eat healthy thing too but I find most recipes can be adapted to make them healthier.

i'm am struggling on the second one--i have my recipe and the stamps i wants to use...its the paper i want to find in my stash...it has to speak to me...and right now all the paper has been silent...wishing for a very chatty time in my craft room shortly

as for the snow---no--it was not pretty driving--for the entire town...but after 24 hrs it had gotten cleared away nicely...
