Please put me down for 2 spots. It has been awhile since I participated in a swap, but this one sounded interesting.

I'm in Rocky Face!

Hi all! I have been sitting in my chair trying to finish a book on my kindle - Flowers on Main by Sherryl Woods. Got 20 pages left but want to make chocolate chip bars, so I had better get to it. I have to go to work at noon.
Have a good day everyone!

so I've been thinking about what to do about my stove...latest thought...remove the broken stove and put in a counter with shelves underneith to house all of my non-stove cooking items. I found a really neat convection oven for $99 that will fit a 9x13 pan. so that's what got me thinking...do you really need a stove? how much does a stove cost me to run verses a electric skillet or say a small convection oven. Since I got the electric skillet I haven't missed my stove much. it makes me sad to see the stove just sitting there...Feel like it' such waste of space now...my kitchens not all that big and outlets are sparce so the space would be nice...just thinking out loud....

Are you sure there's no way to repair it? It seems to me that a high-end stove like you have should last more than 5 years. Even if there's no warranty, maybe the cost to repair it would be worth it?

I found the recipe I want to use for this swap and then I realized I have the perfect paper that goes with the recipe and even a stamp to match. I love it when everything comes together like that!

the few people I've talked too about seem to think that since i caught on fire, the repairs would be very costly. so I'm making due for now...not on my list of things to fix while DH is out of work. I need my sewing machine fixed first!! Military ball is March 16th and I gotta dress to make!!

so if you need a christmas gift for me....I think I'd now consider a new sewing machine...actually I think that would be cheaper to fix than getting a new one...Just need to find the time to track down a sewing machine repair shop.

Hi all! Storming here today. No church which I miss. But then didn't want to go to town and not make it home either!
Haven't been on SCS lately. Just too busy! I thought of a couple of these women on here and all their trees and thought I needed another! So I bought one yesterday. Do you believe they were out of lights at WalMart??? It is only Dec. 9! DH went to Target and said they had loads of lights so he found some for me.
Well today I have to finish decorating the trees, make dinner, and make Christmas and birthday cards.
Have a good day all!

That's awesome!! I've thought about doing that with a few companies. If I knew more people in this area that scrapbooked or made cards I consider it more. but there just not a big market here...at least not in my little town.

asking for some prayers...My DH goes in for surgery tomorrow. He's getting his shoulder and hand/wrist fixed for the motorcycle wreck he was in. He's very excited hoping that the pain will go aways after the surgery...me, I'm just nervous....he's got other health issues so there's always a risk...

sorry ladies I haven't been on...but doesn't look like I've missed much. I hope everyone is busy crafting and getting ready for christmas.

Thank you for the well wishes.....

I've been distracted the last few days...my DH went in for hand and shoulder surgery. The surgery went well, but as expected he's having trouble sleeping...not the sleeping part but getting comfortable long enough to get a full nights rest. so far that hasn't happened. Plus it didn't help that I caught the flu bug on friday so between him and being sick. I'm tired. I really want to leave work early before my class tonight and go home and take a nap! it's super quite here so I might just do that. maybe...or not I was just looking the calendar and I've good so much work that needs to be done before I take a week off...ugh...

anywhoo...Just wanted to stop in and say Hi!

hey ladies...its been crazy for me the last well little while. as you know DH went in for hand and shoulder surgery...he's been driving me nuts...he's now aloud to drive...YEAH which means I don't have to drive him back and forth 45 mins each way to physically therapy 3xweek. but still going to be out of work for 12-16 weeks...so that being said I've been going to night classes for taxes. did this last year and wasn't going to do it this year, but decided we needed the extra income...so I've been swampped with that. today I went to an all day class and then spend the rest of the evening till about 5 mins ago testing!! and more testing!! I passed all the tests so I think I'm good to go...just need to practice a bit more on the program and I'll be peak ready! Mom was here this week (lois577) and it was a great visit. I felt kinda bad cuz with all the running I've been doing this month, taking this week off work I kinda just crashed! so we didn't get to craft together like I was hoping, but still spend time together and that's what's most important. What else....um...this that sums up my last few weeks. had one week of rest before the next 171 days of tax season...officially open on monday!! ACK!! I'm so not ready for 12-14 hour days!! we are going to be open till midnight this year and my DH since he's not working has agreed to let me sleep in during the week and he'll do the 6 am get the kid up for school shift that I normally do. to tell you the truth...it's the least he can do since he's not working and I'll be working for 9 to midnight every night. so ladies please know that I haven't forgotten about you...I'm most likely sleeping!! LOL but really...If I'm not on much that's why...I really don't want you all to think I've forgotten you or I'm ignoring you! I love you all!!! Big Hugs!! ok this it for now....I'll be back soon...for tax season hasn't offically started YET!

The week with Kristyn went by was too fast! Her "normal" routine is the hectic pace she described above! Taking care of DH, DD, more animals than I can count, being active in JROTC and ARM, and now working two jobs! Yikes. It was really good to see her be able to sit and relax for a bit.

Pat - Sorry to hear about your accident. Hope you get better soon!

Kristyn - Didn't know that Lois77 was your mom. How cool to have your mom near and one you can do crafts with. My mom lives 80 miles away, which isn't that far. She is not a crafter; knits though. Sorry to hear about your DH. Your life sounds hectic.

Keeping you in my prayers! Pat too!

Roxanne - I WISH Kristyn lived close by but she's actually 650 miles away. I drive up to visit twice a year and she flies down to go to stamp shows with me and then we meet in the middle once a year to go to a weekend crop retreat. She introduced me to scrapbooking when she lived here in Florida and then I got her started making cards after she moved to Georgia. You're right, it's so much fun crafting together whenever we get the chance!

Pat lives just a few miles from me. As you can see we're both in Venice. We are both members of a stamp club at our LSS, attend crops and classes there, go to a monthly crop at a local hospital (H2U), and go shopping at a town 60 miles away where there are so many craft stores you can't get to them all in one day!!!

I have been without an oven for at least nine months now. Do I miss it???
Well, once in a while when I would like some fresh, hot choclate chip cookies. Other than that, not in the least. I know I should replace it but since it is a wall oven it is rather spendy and I can think of lots of other things that I would actually enjoy to spend my money on. KWIM??

Looking forward to some great recipes....hoping to hold off buying a new one for a while longer

Sorry about your hand Pat...hoping for a speedy recovery for you.

I had no oven and 2 of 4 burners out during the holidays for 3 weeks! used all the other appliances just missed oven for a cake and corn bread otherwise didn't need it!!!!

those little counter top ovens are great had one couple years ago in AZ it gets so hot there you don't use the oven much heats up house which kicks on air,,,,which means higher utility bill. I've gone months without using oven. I tried my first crock pot cake 2 weeks ago and it was great so not sure why we need ovens? I like your idea of that extra cabinet space.

robin-I think your's came the other night....it was in a priority envelope? there was no name on the front, but was from NY on main st? I haven't opened it yet...it's on my desk...the top of the envie was ripped, but didn't look like any cards were damaged. I will get it opened tonight (hopefully) and let you know the full status.
