Please excuse the interruption, but here’s a
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
reminding us that there areDumb Criminals in the World

Usually, when people talk about the importance of "covering your tracks," they mean it in a figurative sense. But two unwise robbers should've heeded that advice literally.

The two allegedly broke into a business and left the scene without being apprehended after an alarm went off. Police, arriving at the scene of the Tuesday morning break-in, noticed two sets of fresh footprints leading away from the building, suggesting that whoever left them was running. They followed the tracks all the way to a nearby convenience store, where witnesses reported seeing two suspicious males walking around the area.

Officers were able to follow the footprint trail from the store to a cemetery, where they found the two men, hanging out. Looking at the suspects' shoes, police were able to confirm that they matched the footprints leading from the burglarized business to the store and from the store to the cemetery, and the two were arrested.

Talk about being caught red-handed... or, rather, snow-footed.

What Mom Really Wants

Top 10 List of what Moms REALLY want...

10. To be able to eat a whole candy bar (alone) and drink a soda without any "floaties" (ie, backwash)

9. To have my 14 year-old daughter answer a question without rolling her eyes in that "Why is this person my mother?" way.

8. Five pounds of chocolate that won't add twenty.

7. A shower without a child peeking through the curtain with a "Hi Ya Mom!" just as I put a razor to my ankle.

6. A full time cleaning person - period!

5. For my teenager to announce "Hey, Mom! I got a full scholarship and a job all in the same day!"

4. A grocery store that doesn't have candy/gum/cheap toys displayed at the checkout line.

3. To have a family meal without a discussion about bodily secretions.

2. To be able to step on a plane with my toddlers and NOT have someone moan, "Oh no! Why me...!"

And the #1 thing that moms REALLY want is.....

New Mexico corrections officers say an inmate escaped his jail cell by breaking a window bar with a razor blade and a Popsicle stick but changed his mind once he got outside.

The man (who is serving time for two murder convictions and other crimes) told police it took about five months to break the bar on his jail cell window with those materials. He also used plastic, newspaper and more Popsicle sticks to fashion a fake window.

Once free, the man changed his mind and climbed back into his second-story jail cell using a bedsheet.

A Fort Lauderdale man was put out of his house by a termite infestation and was staying elsewhere while exterminators draped a giant tent over his house and filled it with poison gas. He was having difficulty sleeping so at around 4 a.m. he took out his smartphone to check a surveillance camera he'd installed in his living room -- and saw two dudes with shirts over their mouths rummaging around through his stuff.

He called police, who went to the house full of deadly gases to investigate but couldn't go inside because it was a house full of deadly gases. They called the exterminator to come and ventilate the house so they could get inside. They had no way of knowing that the burglars had already escaped.

Except an officer was tipped off that the men were on their way to a certain Swap Shop to hock their pilfered jewelry -- so police found the car and arrested two men inside on burglary charges and a third man on an unrelated warrant. It wasn't safe to enter the house until 1:30 the following afternoon.

"What kind of person does that?" asked the Fort Lauderdale Police spokesman. "What kind of person risks their life for a couple of pieces of property, going into a house with 'Danger! Do not enter! Poison!' signs all over it?"

You know Marilyn, that's a good idea. I'm trying to make recipe cards with recipes that we actually like to eat here at home. I'm building a recipe book for DS to have eventually. Sausage gravy would certainly be on his "must have" list. I'll see what kind of images I have that might make a cute card. Thanks for the suggestion!

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
reminding us that there are some Dumb Criminals in the World

A Port Richey, Florida man downed a six-pack of beer and a handful of Oxycontin and then proceeded to get arrested for causing a ruckus at his neighbor's house. He found himself released from jail a few hours later. Shortly after being released, he was arrested again for trying to break into cars in the visitors' parking lot of the jail he was just released from.

The man’s substance-fueled trouble began when deputies found him crawling out from underneath bushes at his neighbor's house. His shorts were sagging low on his waste and on backward. A witness claimed he had been peeing in the bushes. Witnesses also claimed he banged on his neighbor's door, broke the glass panel of a porch light, and then ripped the light's electrical wiring out of the wall.

The intoxicated 48-year-old was arrested for criminal mischief and booked into jail at 7:38 p.m. He was released around 10 o'clock that night and was waiting in the visitors' parking lot of the jail for a ride, but apparently he got impatient. A woman drove up in her Acura. Shortly after she got out, the man tried to get in. She yelled, and he explained he thought it was his car.

Shortly afterward, however, he tried breaking into yet another car. A deputy was watching this time, and less than two hours after his release, the man was taken back to jail and was charged with two counts of attempted auto burglary.

The girl came running in tears to her father. "Dad, you gave me some terrible financial advice!" she cried.

"I did? What did I tell you?" said the dad.

"You told me to put my money in that big bank, and now that big bank is in trouble."

"What are you talking about? That's one of the largest banks in the world," he said. "Surely there must be some mistake."

"I don't think so," she sniffed. "They just returned one of my checks with a note saying, 'Insufficient Funds'."

I know what you mean about that, Paige... it is difficult when the recipe is very long and/or detailed. I have seen some recipe cards where they actually make it like a pocket and stick the recipe inside, so they can have a longer recipe on it.

I can't decide what recipe I want to do either. Roxane-you looking for anything specific? dessert? soup? main dish? breakfast? drink? winter recipes I think of soups. what do think?

anybody else looking for something specific?

joyce-sausage gravy would be neat. I use a package of white gravy and sausage. never tried to make it from scratch before. kinda scared it'd just taste like flour.

I think I will do a macaroni and cheese casserole recipe card. This is a big dish that is a little different from regular mac and cheese, and my family loves it. Very stick-to-the-ribs kind of thing. I take it to our family Christmas dinner every year and never bring any back home.

Hello everyone!

Paige - thanks for joining. Sorry I am so slow at getting you on the list. I came home from work in pain again so have been taking it easy. In answer to your question, no you do not have to list your recipe. Will go add your name right now!

joyce-sausage gravy would be neat. I use a package of white gravy and sausage. never tried to make it from scratch before. kinda scared it'd just taste like flour.
Hi Kristyn!
I am not looking for anything specific. It is just supposed to be something you would eat in the winter time.

I may pick Pasties. Anyone wish to have my recipe for these?

Or maybe a yummy bar recipe. Still considering.
They both work for me! Sounds good!

Paige - thanks for joining. Sorry I am so slow at getting you on the list. I came home from work in pain again so have been taking it easy. In answer to your question, no you do not have to list your recipe. Will go add your name right now!
No need to apologize. I only sign up for swaps when I have time to work on them right away. That way I don't fall behind or forget to do them! Hope you can find some relief for the pain. Have a restful evening!

Good Morning Friends!

It’s Thursday…
means we’re getting closer to the weekend!

... ... ... ...

Today is Read a Book Day
Fight Procrastination Day,
Iguana Awareness Day,
and Coffee Ice Cream Day.

Enjoy your holiday of choice today!
I think I’ll curl up with a good book about iguanas
and a bowl of coffee ice cream without delay!

Please excuse the interruption, but here’s a
PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT
reminding us that there are some Dumb Criminals in the world!

In Virginia, a janitor went to great lengths to avoid I.D. in a 7-Eleven robbery, using a ski mask and rental car for the occasion. But he also wore his work uniform, which said "Cedar Woods Apartments" and had his name, Dwayne, stitched across the front.

Hugs!!!

Good morning everyone!
It's going to be a very nice day again today - 75 degrees. It got down to 46 this morning. I had the windows open and DH kept saying he was freezing. I gave him another quilt. I love the cool weather BTW. Hello Fall!

Could you put me down for one more spot, Roxane? I bought something today that just begs for me to do a gingersnap cookie recipe card. Is that OK?

If you don't get one in the swap you shall have one anyhow. I don't even like spicy, gingery clovy stuff and I can eat these till they come out my ears. My #2 son LOVES them.
