Default QOTD {7/31/12} Die Storage

Can you believe it's the last day of July? I've had my family visiting from the U.S. and time has just FLOWN! Now it's time for goodbyes...
Hope you're having a great summer!
My question today is how do you store your dies?
I LOVE dies and prefer them over punches but I'm always afraid that I might lose some of the small ones in the chaos of creativity. I bought an inexpensive business card holder with plastic pockets which seems to be working pretty well for the smaller ones - as long as I remember to put them away right when I'm finished with them!
So how do you keep your dies organised and how do you store them?

I lined old CD cases with magnetic sheets. I found the 6x12 sheets at Hobby Lobby. The sheets are thin but have a strong magnetic force. I then put the dies on the magnetic inserts to hold them in place. Works great and helps me from losing them (when I put them back in the case right away).

Great idea to use CD cases....and I can see how the addition of magnetic sheets would be a huge plus!

I wish I had a great way because I love them too! Right now, I have two small baskets on my desk. One is full of Papertrey Ink dies. They come in sturdy ziploc bags and I keep them in the basket sorted roughly by size. The second basket is other brands sorted by brand. For those that don't come as sturdily packaged, I did buy a variety pack of various size ziplocs from an office supply store...don't think of these like grocery store zips, they are a nice heavy duty option.

Then...if any dies are for a specific stamp set, I write the name of the set on the bag.

For my Spellbinders Nestabilities dies - I cut down the cardboard piece they are packed in so that they fit in a photo box and attach a section of a magnetic vent cover to it and the dies cling to it and keep them all in a photo box. For my other dies, like my SNSS dies, I have them in their original packaging in a drawer of one of those plastic Sterilite 5 drawer units on a bookcase... when I am unpacked and my craft room is set up that is...
