Red face Problems with thin dies and felt

Total newbie, just bought a Big Shot and various thickness of dies. I am trying to add felt to baby items and don't want to have very stiff felt. The metal wafer dies are working, but the padded Cuddlebug dies, not nearly as cleanly. Tried shims and suggestions here and other places.

Thinking of using spray starch to my eco-felt (want to use that as part of my business for environmental reasons) and then trying again.

Am I on the right track here? I love the Sizzix dies, but I can't find as many in the size 1-2" that I need.

Appreciate your help!

Good question, I'll stand by and wait too! lol

I always run my felt through about 4-5 times just cuz... I don't own any cuttlebug dies....

I've found that any die with the ejection foam is going to give you issues with felt. They just aren't designed to cut anything that thick.

Also some felt is better to cut than others. The softer craft felt (like you'd find at a craft store in sheets) doesn't work as well as the better quality felt. It doesn't cut as clean and it tends to fall apart at the thinner points of the cut.
