Hello stamperfriends! Have I got news for your today, of course we have a new Queen. Now, I am guessing that our sweet Pam (pam124) will hand over her crown to our “crown-picker-upper” without too much fuss because this week, we have the WWW cowboy replacing him. (Just in case, we never know what to expect from one Queen to another. Ah, the life of a hostess is not an easy one, and being stand-in, well, it’s very ungrateful at times.) he he he
Bob is here with that sparkling smile waiting for the Queen to be named. Drum roll please. Yes we are ready. It’s Queen Heather, (Isaiah40:31), and all the way from Canada. Yippee, everybody’s applauding this week’s selection . And she is one fine stamper friend to all! She is very creative and does elegant work, I just drool over this Formal night dinner invitations everytime I see it.
I just know Heather will give us a quiet reign. So please Queen Pam help us in that area will ya! Queen Heather, be very patient because this time, the Crown will be flown from Virginia to Canada. Though it's only a 4 hour flight, things are always tight at Customs. So layback, relax, have something warm to drink and wear, and just have fun.
Please be careful if you go outside with our Crown, at –30 Celsius, the…hum…ahem…diamonds might crack. He he he!
Little something to spice up the challenge this week would be thinking COLD ( as in snow, igloo, skating rink, skiing, shoveling or anything else) because of the weather out in Alberta. It's always a suggestion, remember, the idea is to have fun with what you create. I WILL MAKE ANOTHER CARD ESPECIALLY FOR YOU QUEEN HEATHER AND ADD A LITTLE ALBERTAIN FEEL TO IT!
Congrats Heather!! And what a fine choice indeed this week!! You are a friend to all and have a beautiful and inspiring gallery. Can`t wait to spend some time in here and case a card! I think we all need to give our hostess with the mostess a big round of applause for filling in and doing such an excellent job. Bravo Peggy!!!! xxoo Hugs, Judi

Thank you Judi for your kind words, I will send the check soon now, don't worry! You can keep on saying nice things like that through out the thread this week, I love it.
Congratulations, Heather - you are so very deserving. I still so appreciate the instructions you sent me recently! Your gallery is totally awesome and will be browsing and favoriting! Peggy is an excellent hostess - but it seems like you just started! I have enjoyed your time as hostess and all your sweet comments to everyone!
Oh what a wonderful Queen you've selected this week, Peggy! Heather is such a delightful stamper and person! She's always leaving extraordinary comments on everyone's cards, so it will be a delight to case one of her amazing cards.
EVERYONE, PLEASE HELP ME CONGRATULATE OUR MS. PEGGY FOR HER WILLINGNESS TO TAKE THE REINS FOR THE MONTH OF JANUARY. YOU'VE DONE AN INCREDIBLE JOB WITH SELECTING THE BEST OF THE BEST STAMPERS, PEGGY. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ALL YOUR HELP..
I would be remiss if I failed to acknowledge Bev Barton, my friend and beautiful stamper, who also took the reins while I needed a bit of a respite from the challenge. Without both of you ladies, I'm not at all certain this challenge would have continued. A huge hug and thanks accompany this expression of my thanks.
In the future, I will be most welcome to having anyone suggest future queens and equally as welcome to accept offers to help continue this challenge. I must admit, when I originally started this challenge, I never realized how time consuming it would be. There will be more times when I will not be able to post future QFTD challenges on Thursday evenings, so if you feel moved to step up to the plate, I would most graciously step aside to allow anyone to select a stamper that is deserving of this wonderful title.
Heather, I'll be back sometime over the weekend to journey through your gallery and case one (or more) of your sweet creations. Enjoy your week. Have fun!

I suppose you know I was joking about it being and "ungrateful task" in my intro. I just had to come and say that. I really had fun doing it. You got my number dear, so anytime, you need, call and you know the rest!

...for compliments that is...gee, I love to read all of your kind words ladies, you shouldn't have!...well, it does feel good. Thank you Kathy, you are a doll!

You made me cry:, but happy tears. Thank you, I will be checking out this post a little more today! Bev and Anne sure are darling friends, thank you Bev, you did an excellent job hosting. I am glad to be part of this fun bunch of crazy ladies.xo Crazy...well, you know who I am talking about! hugsxo
Congrats to the new Queen Heather! She really, really deserves to be crowned the Queen. But, what a fight she'll have getting that crown from Pamzi. They will probably be throwing 'punches' at each other in this battle.
Thanks to Bev and Peggy for doing such an awesome job of filling in for Anne. Everything went without a hitch...at least, on our side of things.
I'm sure it was plenty of work for these two to keep it going. Thanks bunches, girls.
I probably won't get to play today or this weekend but I will be sure to get a card made next week for Queen Heather.
Congratulations to Heather!!! A newly crowned Queen who is so deserving.
I am behind in the QFTD Challenges, I have been substituting at my ole school district and it cuts into my stamping time. LOL. I will try and catch up asap.
Peggy, You have done a great job with the challenges!! I don't know you IRL, but I can just feel your smiles and enthusiasm when I read your posts.

Aaaaaack! Heather! How cool is this! I am so happy for you and cannot wait to play this weekend. You have a beautiful gallery and more beautiful heart. Oh, this will be f-u-n-!!!
Giggles, Queen Nut extraordinaire, you have reigned supreme (kinda like Dianna Ross, you know?) and made this so much fun to play along. I know it is an awfully time consuming job, but you have served us well, encouraging others with your banter, and wonderful comments! Anne, glad to see you returning, and Bev, you stepped up to the plate and did an awesome job yourself! This challenge means so much to so many, and that you would continue is a blessing to all. BIG fat hugs to all of our Hostesses!

What's this - my good friend and fellow punch pal/punchkateer is trying to take my crown!!! Good luck to you Heather as it is a heavy burden aside from the weight of the crown. Sitting around having everyone wait on you and counting your money is exhausting. But, really, I'm so happy for you Heather and you certainly deserve this honor. I will play as soon as I can.
I want to thank everyone who played my little charade last week. It was so much fun and I am very touched!! I'm just a regular ole princess now taking orders from Queen Heather

Oh me! Oh my! Pretty much shocked to have had this honour bestowed upon me! Wow! Double Wow! To follow in the footsteps of our esteemed Queen Pamzi will be tough indeed. And I can't forget the 43 QFTD recipients before Pamzi! My goal this year is to complete a card to honour every one of the QFTD recipients that I've missed since this challenge began. Already workin' on it!
From what Pamzi says, it sounds like I may be without a crown! Not going to get into a 'punching' match for it though. I don't often wear hats anyway. Even with our wintry weather! And if Pamzi does actually let go of the crown, the Customs crew that plays with my stamp orders from the US will probably have to take turns trying on the crown before they let it through Customs.
And I do promise not to send anyone to the tower or to the chopping block during the next week. Promise!!
I have the privilege of attending a huge conference in Edmonton this weekend - Break Forth Canada 2011. It is sold out and I believe total attendance will be about 15,000 people. Tonight's concert is Casting Crowns - looking forward to that!
But, as I will be away (and I'm leaving the laptop at home) please be patient until I get home as I won't be able to gallery gaze at your creations and leave comments until my return to 'my castle' on Monday.
Thanks to all who stop by my gallery and to those who take the time to 'play'. Thanks also to Anne Ryan and Bev and Peggy who have given of their time and talents to keep this fun challenge happening for all of us. Big hugs! Have a wonderful weekend. I shall return!

Congratulations, Heather. I will join in the general chorus, here.....good luck wrenching the crown from Pam, who, as you yourself pointed out has let it go way to her head.
I'm off to browse through your cards.

Hello all... Thought I'd actually have a chance to pop by and see the cards created so far but, as luck would have it I had a few "technology issues" setting up the computer and the church projector for Sunday's service while I'm away. That chewed up any spare moments I might have had. See you when the weekend is over. The weather is turning on us so I hope the roads aren't icy. Have a great weekend everyone.

Peggy,Bev and Anne: Thank you for all that you do here on SCS - both for this wonderful challenge and all of your artwork, comments and support to the community. I would like to think that I have become a better cardmaker over this past year because lovely people like you and the Queens have found nice things things to say and shared your amazing talents with us. I for one am extremely grateful that I am allowed to part of this wonderful space.
That having been said...Congratulations, Heather!!! Enjoy your reign! Here is my card to celebrate: QFTD45, CC307 Flowers for Heather by momof5sons - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers

Ms Queen, I am sitting down right now to take a much awaited stroll through your gallery. Before I do, however, I would like to give a huge shoutout to TrishG who pm'd me that she'd love to occasionally try her hand as QFTD moderator. Trish also mentioned she has several stampers in mind that she would like to see as future Queens. Mega thanks, Trish!

Wow, now that is good news Anne. Thank you Trish, I will be looking forward to see you host. I know that with different stampers we will get to know new ones too. Can't wait to see you.
Congratulations, Heather. I'm a little late to your party, and I also thought I was finished with Christmas cards. But when I saw this Christmas wreath, I wanted to try something I had seen in a magazine. Here is my card -- Snowflake Wreath.
This whole week has been one where I run out of time every day (yes, even retirees have that happen LOL)! I have a card done - and now it is just about time to leave for church.
Congratulations to the honoree - Heather, what a great honor. Sorry I did not add anything cold! Oh, well...
Awww, I was so happy to read all the "nicees" everybody wrote in this thread and the comments too. I just loved doing this. So Anne, give me a call and let's book me for anoter week or month soon.
this card is ridiculous. It took me several hours to color the images, so I thought no way is this going in the trash. Congrats Heather. It should be such fun to return home and see what's happened in your absence.
